Last time we covered 5 Things to do when you want to rent an apartment.
Now, we would share with you things to look out for when you are on inspection.
1. Walls
When inspecting a property/apartment always check both the outside and internal walls for the following
A. Peeling paints/falling paints
B. Water marks
C. Mildew - A greenish colour on the wall.
D. Wet wall
All of the above listed tells you the property/apartment has a water problem, so be very careful with that property.
You may even have to do another inspection especially after a rain.

2. Airflow
Otherwise known as Ventilation.
Houses built in the 1980 into the 90s , the builders were conscious of airflow around and within the apartment, thus accommodation were made in the design of the property which is why houses before and during these eras were big and very spacious. But, now, due to popular demand and the need to manage space, developers are building smaller apartments. So things to look out for.
A. How many windows does each room have?
B. When you entered the property did you notice the flow of air, was it present, mild, or non existent?
C. Any air flow around the entrance?
D. When u opened the door, was the Air draft you felt cool or warm?
E. How are the Windows arranged, is there cross ventilation?
F. Does the compound have spaces between the houses?
G. Is there sufficient space between the house and the fence - especially the ground floor?
When on inspection of apartments, be wary of snap decisions, make an excuse to inspect again, if you are satisfied, don't delay.
