Hello Bissiejoe. Thanks for the info. I use to be huge fan of UK Border Force series. Can you help with the season and episode of this particular storyline? Many thanks.

People of God, una well done. My birthing trip to Chicago is almost set (Infact, totally set In Jesus name), but i still need tremendous assistance.. The ticket i got is to New York. The issue here is, i am having challenges booking a local flight from New York to Chicago. My people, who can guide me on how to go about this? i will be leaving in about two weeks. i believe booking ahead of time will be cheaper because i read somwhere here that Lady Ay, paid over $350 for a trip from New York to Chicago. That's way too much considering the price and how difficult it is to hustle dollars. Helpful suggestions please. my time is running out.... Thanks

you can book on same day you arrive, just tell them you want a cheaper flight.I am presently in Chicago,I came in through new York and I booked the same day for $317 to and fro excluding $70 for my baggage.I told them I want the cheapest.(Delta airline)

Good day, Nairaland family..!
Been looking forward to sharing my experience here like most..
I am a first time mummy and I had my visa interview today.
It went thus:
VO: Good morning, ma'am.
I: Good morning.
VO: Are you having more than one baby?
I: No, just one
VO: Who are you going to stay with in the US?
I: I am going to stay with my friend (name) and she resides in Richmond Virginia.
VO: What do you do for a living?
I: I am a medical Dr who works in a Government hospital (mentions the name)
VO: What is your area of specialty?
I: Told her I am yet to be fully specialised but currently work in the paediatrics department.
VO: But why will you as a medical Dr leave your hospital and seek care elsewhere especially in the United States? (looking perplexed)
I: I said: For one: I have first hand knowledge of how the system works here due to my profession and with this knowledge I made my decision to have my baby in US. Also, I discussed with my obstetrician before embarking on this and he is in full support. Moreover, I am well travelled and I know that US has the most reputable medical practise in the world.
VO: What is the cost of this trip to you?
i: Mentioned $10k and was trying to list the items on my budget sheet before she cut me off by saying:
VO: I do not think that amount is close to what you would require for delivery in the States.
I: That waa what I got from my research and enquiries- told her I contacted the hospital (mentioned the name) as well as the Dr (mentioned his name) and I was given an estimate.
VO: How much do you earn?
I: I earn ....
VO: but what you earn is barely enough (she mentally converted it to naira and said the dollar equivalent)
I: I know ma'am and that is why my husband is the sponsor not me.
VO: Has your husband been to the US before?
I: No ma'am
VO: what does he do?
I: He is into real estate (describes what he does specifically) and also into agriculture (gives details as well)
VO: How much is in your husband's account as well as yours?
I: Told her
VO: May I see your bank statement?
I: Mine or his?
VO: His (handed it over and scrutinised it thoroughly)
VO typed for what seemed like an eternity.. didn't realise I was sweating even with the a/c. My kabashing no get part 2. I was claiming the white paper (even though I didn't see it in plain sight). It was the pink that was staring at me in the face.
Next I heard... Your visa had been approved.. didn't know when I tuned out from excitement .. Had to ask her to, please, repeat the rest of what she said.. She advised I not take medicaid and I should carry my husband's bank statement along to POE and if for any reason I cannot make full payment at once, I should make an arrangement with the hospital but settle all my bills eventually so as not to jeopardise future visa applications.
It was not a walk in the park but it was obviously my God @ work!!!
Sorry for the long post. Now on to PTA and very affordable flight hustle to Richmond Virginia.
Please, nefertitiram, I am loyal, ma....
More great news to follow...
Thank you, wonderful people of Nairaland!!

Hello house good morning,in the spirit of giving back to this wonderful forum that has turned into my second home. I flew emirates from lagos to dallas(17th September to 19th September ) but had a 22hrs layover at dubai.the journey was long and entertainment was on point. I was well taken care of.the flight from dubai to dallas was fantastic, the airhostress blocked a full middle row seats for me so that I can sleep comfortable whenever I want.I was always being checked up by them and given what ever I demanded for. It was the favour of God.and maybe because am three in one.Got to dallas, did E -check in.a slip was printed out stating All my details including my type of visa. Now to the immigration officer
Officer: Hello madam
Me: with my tired face hi good morning
Officer :what's in your stomach
Me: babies. Na so two of us start to dey laugh seriously.
Officer : what do u have in your bag?
Me:food items and some cereals that I love eating.
Officer :do you have some money with you?
Me:yes few cash and dollar card.
Officer :ok thank you.and gave me back my passport, it wasn't stamped not just mine even a nija man that was coming to dallas to pick up his family that was attended to by another officer. Asked questions they said I was good to go. I was surprised, it got to a point I was asking myself if I really went through the right place.everything was so smooth, brief and easy. I just said it's God. He heard my prayers.no secondary inspection.
Next was to board a flight to Houston my final destination with American Airlines. Went for my appointment yesterday with Dr E oakbend. So relaxing now for my next appointment and scan to see my little babies and how they are doing.
Thanks to this great forum for all the wonderful informations I received here. God bless you all.

You guys were refused despite your UK history? That's weird. 5 months? I did the math but I still need to know? Were you pregnant at the time of application? That may be a factor.
Apply alone. You already have access to this thread so get your self arranged /armed and go back.

@ ladyG @firstymum@chloe @nef

Pls, sorry to border these great nairaland brains and minds.
My DH wants me to convince him why I should apply alone this time around. Pls what should be my strong points. Pls help cause I have till this evening to give him feedback.
I really don't what to be refused again cos I have been refused twice.

Thanks for ur response in advance.
