Hello Guys, Please advice me on this. I got my Canada visa and supposed to resume in January, I wont be able to resume till May. Do I need to communicate with CIC about deferring my admission after obtaining the visa? If i go to Canada in December and resume in school to deffer my admission and return to my current resident, does that have any negative implication when i intend to return in May ? |

URGENT HELPPPPPP!!! My course has a co-op semester. when applying for study visa online i was asked "Is work an essential component of your studies?" which i answered yes. Now when i try to do a co-op work permit application online it just directs me to my study application (now submitted). Because i answered yes to that question does it mean i will get a study and co-op work permit same time or how does it work? Note: I have submitted the study permit application online already. Do i need a separate application for co-op work permit. Im trying to enter Jan 2017 so urgent answer is needed please thanks. |

Ill advice you contact the school international office to advice you better. Returning in May does that mean you will have to extend the stay of your visa? If so, u may have to contact CIC UNIXLover: |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by lawmerchant: 3:58am On Sep 22, 2016 |
UNIXLover:You cannot go to Canada, resume and then differ your admission and return to your country of residence. Once your study permit is issued at the point of entry you "must enrol in and continue to pursue studies in Canada. Failure to do so could lead to removal from Canada" and if you're outside Canada you may be refused entry on your return and your study permit revoked. Hence, don't go to Canada unless you're ready to really commence and continue your study. You can contact the school to defer your admission till May and then travel to Canada to resume for the May Semester. You don't need to notify CIC, but you'll need the deferral or May admission letter. - LM 7 Likes |

Sorry I noticed I can not do a new post reason I had to quote you, please I have been a silent reader on this forum I jst got an admission to study global management in Humber college , but I noticed the duration of the program is 1year 6months for pgd instead of 2years. Then again considering the rate of denials infact am beginning to get scared about the whole process. I am a banker with 8yrs working experience I have a good travel history I have been to UK and US my American visa is still active I intend using a thirdparty sponsor who is not related to me what are my chances. |

ijeaify:My candid advice is just package your application well and pray so that God will touch the mind of the VO. You will only do your best, God has the final say. 2 Likes |

Hi ijeaify: Have you considered getting admission for an MBA or a masters in management? I really think that this will considerably up your chances of getting a TRV. With your 8 years of experience in banking, my fear on your behalf is that the VO will see your PGD admission as merely an attempt to flee Nigeria. Your PGD is in a course area closely related to your banking experience so the VO would wonder why you would pay so much to leave 8 years of banking experience "only" to go get a PGD in an area that you already have approximate expertise in. Just thinking from a VO's perspective here. If you really wanna apply with the PGD, I just want to let you know of the high hurdle your application has to scale in order to be approved. You can get the TRV (I estimate a 20% max probability), but it is a very high mountain to climb! So if you do try your luck with the PGD admission, make sure your application is nothing short of amazing. I still would recommend you get an MBA or masters in management admission instead though. PS: your US and UK visas give you higher chances than the average Naija applicant, but CIC can be very particular when it comes to applicants applying for TRVs using a program level that is not seen as an "academic progression". Without your visa history, I would have estimated your chances to be 10% max. ijeaify: 5 Likes |

hello friends, I gained admission to university of Manitoba for the university one program and want to submit visa application for january. bsc degree my profile; am 23yrs now my sponsor is my uncle who is a medical doctor in the USA. I finished sec school 2010 wrote GCE 2012 was denied US study visa 3times 2013, 2014, 2015. turned my sights to Canada but was denied early this year with Conestoga college after paying part tuition. requested for my immigration file; the VO said that I am young, single with no dependant. Concerns why I don't want to study in Nigeria as i am using study visa to gain entry into Canada. concerns that money will not be made available to me since all documents submitted are from a third party. I go advise from some folks on nairaland to apply one more time, this time I should submit the app myself as agents just fill anything they like in one's application. more over the agent I used before is charging N150k after collecting 315k in my first canada app. I don't have such to pay for something that is not guaranteed. My uncle has gradually deposited 1m naira into my account for stipends for one year in Canada and has promised to pay tuition as he did before in my previous application that was refused. I need assistance submitting the application for January. I need to write a good SOP to cover the gap from what I understand here. thank you for your continuous assistance. Domex is always grateful. 2 Likes |
