I don't know y just seeing d names of d clubs most of our players now play for makes me smile.
Back den our players were playing for some virtually unknown club sides in mid Europe (and dey were always seating on d bench), d only stand-out was Mikel(Chelsea) and Yobo.
Thank God Success finally gets d call up. I hope d achievements of sum of d 2013 u17 stars with d various national teams will make ppl realize dat age cheating in our football has finally reduced.
Good job to d Babas n d mama on the thread: Icon4s, Thesupernerd, Thegoodjoe, Joseph, forgiveness, terzerum, confun, Safarigirl and the rest, I hail u all.

I propose we go with a 4-3-3 formation. An attacking line up with three forwards.

----------------------------------Carl Ikeme(GK)----------------------------------------
---------------------Ekong(CB)----------------Balogun(CB)------------------
M. Mohammed(RB)----------------------------------------------------Echiejile(LB)
----------------------------------------Onazi(DMF)----------------------------------------------
-------------------Iwobi(CMF/AMF)-------------Mikel(CMF/AMF)-----------------
---------------V. Moses(SS)-------------------------------------------Success(SS)
-------------------------------------------Iheanacho(CF)----------------------------------

Left back is a challenge for me because I do not trust Echiejile's crosses and tracking back. I put his name there because of his experience and I have not watched much of Madu's defending.

A lot of us hurled criticism at V. Moses because of his stingy play. However, he can become an asset with more license to attack. Instead of sticking to the flanks to cross and pass, a combination of three skillful strikers will bring out the best in Moses. We will see them exchange brilliantly close to goal and cause Zambia problems.

Mikel and Iwobi have the duty of disciplined play and key passes to unlock the opponents defence.

Onazi must stick to his disciplined play as he did against Tanzania. The setup is offensive and a stable defensive midfielder is crucial to prevent counter attacks.

Rohr should reduce the forward play of Echiejile to reduce the work he does to track back. Onazi should fill gaps.

Firstly what I am happy about is the fact that Rohr is hitting the ground running.

He trusts the pool of players we have already and inviting 2-3 new players. That is what I have been talking about. This will ensure balance and stability.

Firstly an outright 4-3-3 formation is not what you go with when you face African opposition away. Even if it is Chad or Burundi you want to play. U would need a consolidated midfield.

The only player I am not comfortable with on your list is Musa Mohammed. And I am sure u no my reasons. I would rather we start Shehu Abdulahi who is a more tested player

Secondly you need a central AM an may need to re-arrange your midfield and attack to look like this:

...............Onazi
..............................Mikel

Moses...........Iwobi........Success

..................Iheanacho

This is a 4-2-3-1 that can easily be converted to a 4-3-3 when on the attack.

However, I feel Rohr may want to start Ahmed Musa ahead of Success.
With Musa and Moses playing from the wings and Iwobi as the number 10 it becomes a typical 4-5-1 formation with more midfield presence. We need a very compact midfield in Ndola.

In Ndola, we need the wingers to fall back and defend. I hope Rohr drums it into them.

Mikel will play deeper than Iwobi. Iwobi will need to make use of his brilliance to run into space created by our skillful forwards.

Passes, passes and more passes. That is what we need from Mikel and Iwobi. Utilise the pacy and skillful forwards. Keep passing to them. Opening for passes is very important from these two also.

More Passes between themselves and the forwards. They should also pass back to keep possession.
An offensive setup and nicely done but we have to realise that we are playing in faraway Zambia where everything including the atmospheric condition may be setup in a way to thwart our ambition of progressing to the WC tourney. The Zambians are known to play beautiful football in the presence of their fans and they will have to appease their fans for their failure to qualify for AFCON, So they will go gun blazing at us but we can turn that to our advantage by trying to be conserved with our approach by using 4-5-1 formation. This formation help us to soak the pressure from the Zambian team which in turn frustrate the zambian team and add a lot of pressure on them then errors set in. Then we can turn that to our advantage but our striker should be known for burying half chance when it presents itself which I know kelechi is capable of doing perfectly. Success should stick to the flanks if the 4-3-3 is eventually used.

If this is how we would set up, then I suggest Musa Muhammed should not start. We can't afford to have 2 green horns (Muhammed and success) on the international scene on the right side of our team starting such a crucial game.
Somehow, experience and youth should balance out. If success must start, Shehu plays. If Muhammed must start, Musa plays.

Check properly on that line up, Success is on the left flank just like he was when he came on for Ighalo on their(Watford 's) last match. He has an experience in Echiejile behind him, while Moses who hardly tracks back will have energetic Muhammed behind him on the right side.

As though he knew u were gonna say that before bringing forward the line up.

Yeah right bro. Also Mikel's CMF presence is very important as we may have Iwobi as the Central AM. In case Iwobi does not find his footing in the game (typical of young players on this kind of stage) Mikel should be able to cover for him.

Our wingers really need to track back to support the wing backs. This is why we may not start Success as one of the wingers.

If that's the case, then my bad. Rohr will be a very brave man to hand Success a start on his debut in this sort of game. Lining up with Success, Iheanacho, Musa and Iwobi all under 20.... Hmmm
I don't think Rohr would be starting more than 2 of these guys.

Iwobi will play as a retainer. A role he has played for arsenal this season.
Rohr's games manship will be tested in the second half when he has to react and make changes.

Very good formation.

I don't think Musa M. is up for this game, but I don't see how Rohr will drop him after the impressive game he had last time. Iwobi should come behind Iheanacho and let Mikel be the CMF. That way Mikel can support the defence as the case may be. Success and Moses don't help the defence so I'm skeptical of them. But I know Moses will play. Success may not start because he is new.

We will defeat Zambia.

An offensive setup indeed, Nice formation. I'll prefer shehu at that RB.
If the passes from the Mid field come through, the forward play/strike of the MSI will be a disaster to the chipolopolo defense, But do u think rohr is of this type of formation setup? 4-3-3. He will adopt the 4-4-2 he adopted for the tanzania match as he's of that scope, we should discuss with the formation.

I also suspect he might go for an offensive 4-4-2 setup but it makes us rely on players like Moses and Musa playing too wide to have effect on the opponents goal. I see the same happening with Success.

With three forwards, players like Moses, Musa and Success play more attacking roles and it suits them.

I feel Moses will play effectively as a forward than a winger.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 12:41am On Sep 23, 2016
I think with a few more games backed up by good results the "fear factor" will be finally back to the Super Eagles.... What a squad we have!!!!!!

As I saw this 4-3-3 I automatically re-arranged it into a 4-2-3-1... (A top variant of a 4-5-1) which can also switch back to 4-3-3 depending on game situations.

What I found out? The players in this 4-3-3 can also execute the 4-2-3-1 without anyone altering your choice 4-3-3 "11"

I Love your formation.... It strives to utilise the strength we have up front as we create lots and lots of chances....... If Nacho leads, Goals will rain. If he doesn't, well, Hope we score enough to outscore them in Ndola for it will be a tough tough battle. The gun from which the copper bullets are fired is not to be underestimated.... wink

I know Rohr will play Musa Mohammed but like seriously, In the long run, we need another who is more experienced (Can Odubajo's clearance be ready quickly??!!! Haba!!! ). But all the same, Musa M got A big heart. Hope he delivers again.

Echiejile on the left? What better option do we have "for now".... So Echiejile it is.

Isaac Success in for Ahmed Musa is likely to happen if the coach wanna be super-daring. Buttttt, Musa is assistant captain.... He may still start. But I prefer Success.

Every other thing in your formation is cool..... Just cool.... And kinda balanced...

Except It is Iwobi who will play directly Behind Iheanacho and not Mikel... Mikel should be the bridge between the Dmf and the Amf.... In his dynamic CMF role.

Or am I seeing right? I think you did just that in your formation... Well, we understand each other... Lol... Good one Sir GoodJoe....

And like Sir Joseph1013 has stated emphatically, VICTOR MOSES WILL SURELY START THAT GAME........ I DON'T SEE HOW THAT WON'T HAPPEN.... unless (there's a reason the "unless" is small-lettered... wink

TheGoodJoe:
I propose we go with a 4-3-3 formation. An attacking line up with three forwards.

----------------------------------Carl Ikeme(GK)----------------------------------------
---------------------Ekong(CB)----------------Balogun(CB)------------------
M. Mohammed(RB)----------------------------------------------------Echiejile(LB)
----------------------------------------Onazi(DMF)----------------------------------------------
-------------------Iwobi(CMF/AMF)-------------Mikel(CMF/AMF)-----------------
---------------V. Moses(SS)-------------------------------------------Success(SS)
-------------------------------------------Iheanacho(CF)----------------------------------

Left back is a challenge for me because I do not trust Echiejile's crosses and tracking back. I put his name there because of his experience and I have not watched much of Madu's defending.

A lot of us hurled criticism at V. Moses because of his stingy play. However, he can become an asset with more license to attack. Instead of sticking to the flanks to cross and pass, a combination of three skillful strikers will bring out the best in Moses. We will see them exchange brilliantly close to goal and cause Zambia problems.

Mikel and Iwobi have the duty of disciplined play and key passes to unlock the opponents defence.

Onazi must stick to his disciplined play as he did against Tanzania. The setup is offensive and a stable defensive midfielder is crucial to prevent counter attacks.

Rohr should reduce the forward play of Echiejile to reduce the work he does to track back. Onazi should fill gaps.

Yeah... A 4-4-2 is another posibility but then with such attacking talent, we gotta play to our strengths.

It's up to Coach Rohr as usual.... When Rohr "roars" out his first 11 and formation on D-Day.... And also in our next home-game, Maybe then we can have a hold on his preferred formation and back-up strategies....

Bottomline: We just gotta beat the Zambians...

TheGoodJoe:

I also suspect he might go for an offensive 4-4-2 setup but it makes us rely on players like Moses and Musa playing too wide to have effect on the opponents goal. I see the same happening with Success.

With three forwards, players like Moses, Musa and Success play more attacking roles and it suits them.

I feel Moses will play effectively as a forward than a winger.

Uche Agbo has been impressive for Granada. He plays in the defence. His game against Atletico yesterday was superb. Watch out for that guy.

That Tammy Abraham lad dey hot!!! I have been monitoring him for a while.... smiley

He's only 18 and a Chelsea loanee doing great things at Bristol City.

Only thing is we don't know his allegiance decision yet.... But he's a very fine prospect.

Eehn! I don't know this lad. The first time I heard about I thought he is one of those lad that has no future with Chelsea.

I will start following him from henceforth.

Nwankwo Kanu: Rare Skills, Goals, Passes || Arsenal || Inter || West Brom

A Compilation of rare skills, tricks, and goals from the Legend, One and Only, PAPILO

Fantastic, brilliant and entertaining clip. Superb and a must watch for football lovers.

Kanu's Inter Milan team was one of the strongest teams in club football. In that video, the player with bandage at the end of the clip is Diego Simeone. Then there was Ronaldo, Zamorano, Baggio, Kanu, Zanetti, Taribo West, Parliuga and many more.

forgiveness:

We have Kenneth Otigba and Brain Idowu to replace Jamiu Alimi and Shehu Abdullahi. Afterall, Ezekiel Imoh was dropped because of the club he plays for presently.

Isaac Success! Did I raise highbrow? I am not against his invitation. I was only talking about shumthing. You can't understand. The person understands. grin
Who told you Imoh Ezekiel was dropped because the Club he plays? The Coach or someone in the Glasshouse?

I don't know much about Brain Idowu. But I together with some some stakeholders had canversed for the invitation of Kenneth Otigba. However, the responsibility to do so rests with the technical crew.

If Imoh Ezekiel was ignored on the bases of the Club he plays for, why did the Coach invite him for the Tanzanian game? Or wasn't the Coach aware of his Club when he extended invitation to him earlier? I am beginning to wonder the kind of ''thinking model'' you applied before coming up with some of your points.

It is obvious the Coach watched him in the Olympics and Super Eagles training, hence the need to give Isaac Success his chance.

I believe Isaac Success merited his invitation by putting up impressive performances in the EPL games so far.

So please stop this your early insinuation of ''Shumting'' in the NFF.

For the Coach I see him inviting players that are doing well in their various Clubs one by one, so please exercise some patience.
