Advice Needed On My 1st LOW BUDGET Car by xpression123: 9:15am On Sep 23, 2016 |
Hello all I have been a regular guest on NL for long and have been following posts, but i have to register cos i need help on this issue and i am convinced NL is the best solution for it. Though i drive but I am about to own my first personal car. I have budget of 250k maximum for this. I'm looking for a Nigerian fairly used (surely) decent car that can serve me for some time with little or no issues at least. Am not a frequent traveller so the car will be mainly used around the town, though travelling might come in once a while (maybe once in a month) and since i earn very little for now (around 20k a month), i need you to suggest me a good car make/model i could get naija fairly used that could serve its purpose at this price range, also with less fuel consumption I beg u please, I will really appreciate a sincere answer from mature, experienced people with no insults. I know i am not rich, so i cant increase the budget and i wish i could get a car dat wont send me into the mechanic workshop on daily basis and take away the little income, the type that you will move 10 mins and top Engine oil, another 10 mins and u top The radiator. What brand and model will u suggest at this price range please. (Apart from Golf 2) Thanks in advance. |

Golf 3......... nuff said. Drives well, easy on fuel, rugged, cheap to maintain........ and still has style especially on nice rims. 1 Like |

@op, whatever car you get just remember petrol is 145 in Nigeria today. On 20k salary monthly I don't think you will be able to maintain a brandnew now talk of used. Problems will arise, unplanned spendings. Only buy a car if you're prepared to use it twice a week or so. On low budget car for 250 the golf 3 very good option or Nissan micra. 1 Like |

You have to consider a lot of things, by default I recommend Nissan Micra... check this link out for some things to consider http://www.gotoguyng.com/2016/08/buying-car-consider-these.html 1 Like |

forget owning a car for now....not with N20k per month. Your salary wouldn't be enough to maintain a N250K used car. |

Get the car I am certain it will open ways for you. Be business minded by using it for business when you are not on duty. |
