The internet spreading reports of miracles is killing atheism and will continue to do so. Pentecostalism and evangelical Christianity are booming. Atheism is dying in terms of the percentage of people in the world who are atheists (see: Decline of global atheism ). As noted in a previous blog post, the American sociologists Peter Berger wrote, "One can say with some confidence that modern Pentecostalism must be the fastest growing religion in human history." Phillip Jenkins published the book The Next Christendom: The Coming of Global Christianity. By the middle of this century, there will be three billion Christians in the world -- one and a half times the number of Muslims. In fact, by 2050 there will be nearly as many Pentecostal Christians in the world as there are Muslims today. Both Atheists like me and Theists like you, why not let us come together and just be united to disregarding social division and breaking off every social construct deemed to keep human submissive. I think if we think in this direction then we would achieve world peace. And if we achieve world peace there would be no reason for religion or atheism. |
