The warning message says that if you cancel your current appointment slot you will need to pay a new MRV fee. It is straightforward.

Thanks for clarifying.

You are the expert and it should be straightforward to you, that's why i asked.

Pointing that out however is absolutely unnecessary.

thank you for always respond to my queries. Please like i stated before, myself and Dear Husband want to apply to Lagos embassy but on the DS form should we apply differently or we should use Create other family menu. We have been having trouble with this form as we have filled different forms and cancelled because we will like to have the same appointment together. Is it still possible? Can we fill the same form by linking them or we should fill different form and get same appointment with same time.

Your advice will be highly appreciated.

Good day to you all,

Please, I need your advice. My family and I have just been issued visiting visa to US to attend a wedding programme. Now that secondary schools are in session, which documents do you advice I collect from my children's school being presented at the point of entry in the US?

I await your prompt response.

Thank you.

Dear Abujaniv,

I am billed to travel on the 17th of October and i couldn't get an appointment in Lagos earlier than Oct 26 and Abuja for Oct 19. Both are too late for my trip.

Is there a chance to fast track my appointment?

Thank You

This is an awesome post and thanks VO for the good job. I have been to the U.S first on a J Visa, later on a F1 visa (masters) and recently on a B1/B2 Visa. While on the latest visa (B1/B2) which I applied for on the basis of visiting and not childbirth; I had a baby in the U.S but all bills was paid with receipts and I have since been back in the country. Stamped in for 6 months but stayed for about 4 months. Will my giving birth in the U.S affect my subsequent visits or visa renewal?

Good evening.

This is a great idea for a VO to be here to answer questions. Great job!

I applied for a B1/B2 visa for myself and my family. Four members in all. We were successful at the interview. We elected to collect our passports at DHL Port Harcourt.

We have received notifications for pick up for three passports. The outstanding passport is that of my 2nd son who is an infant.

Ordinarily I would have thought that all 4 passports would be sent together. I used the self-service option online and was told that the passport is still at the US embassy.

My question is if this is a normal occurrence that all passports for a family will not be ready for collection at the same time?

Thank you.

I meant do I need to collect letter of permission from my children's school as evidence that their school is aware they won't be around for two week in the middle of the session or I do not need any documents?

Good day Abujaniv. Thanks for the previous information you gave me, I have booked an appointment. Please I have a disturbing issue about my ds-160.when filling my employer details,i mistakenly added a double "Ss" in between the spelling of my company's name instead of one "s" but I spelt it correctly when I was told to briefly explain my job. Please I hope am not gonna have any problem because of that? All other information was filled in correctly. Anticipating for your reply *thanks

@Abujaniv,

I want to say Thank you on your previous response. It help my aunt in a great deal.

Now, my boss applied last year for his nannies (ie 2) to accompany his family (wife and 3 babies) to the States as his Domestic staff but they were turned down due to their inability to express themselves properly. His PA who accompanied them for the interview was not allowed in with them.

Now, he wants to re-apply for them because their trip is always stressful and they need some help.

Kindly advise how best to handle this.

Thank you.

Good morning Vo,

Please kindly assist on how to deal with this situation.

My B1/B2 Visa will expire by Mid- January 2017 and I will be travelling by mid- december 2016 to have my baby. I informed the Vo that the purpose was for delivery in 2015 when i got the visa.

Should i renew my visa through drop box even when it has not expired or just use the visa even though it will expire while am in the USA.

Thank You

Hello Blessedpikin05,

Having a child in the U.S. is perfectly legal. Ensure that you complete your DS-160 accurately. Be prepared to answer questions about your prior travel. Bringing proof of payment may also be a good idea.

Regarding filling the online DS-160 form, there appears to be some technical faults with the online completion.
I am to travel to the US with a team for a conference and we all cannot seem to get by with completing our forms
problem is keeps redirecting as session timed out even while actively on the form. Been on this since last week, I am worried the suitable interview dates would all be unavailable for scheduling

Hello Nairadeen,

Thank you very much for your question. There is no difference between the white and pink refusal letters. The letter is the same, it is just that some were printed on pink stationary and some were printed on white stationary.
