"questionable democracied with dodgy militaries"

1)former president of ghana was burried in full military uniform... having never served in the military- ghana is probably the most democratic nation in Africa..

2) all the men of the royal british royal family wear uniforms as Honorary Colonels of Regiments in Britain's Armed Forces on any official function they see fit.

4) Barack Obama leader of the free world and largest democracy was also wrong in doing this (pics below)

last pic, south korea (the most liberal asian democracy) president park at an observation podt in a military excersize

- A number of presidents never wear then coz they probably look terribly ridiculous in them with plumb bodies.... Got nothing to do with democracy

Military funeral and military uniform not the same thing

honorary colonel is a title some people may have and it allows them to wear a certain uniforms at certin official funcstion. Any case all most every royal is military or ex military

New BDF Puma helicopter

he Botswana Defence Force Air Wing has taken delivery of a single Airbus Helicopters EC225LP Super Puma helicopter, which was acquired second hand from Spain.

The aircraft was delivered to Botswana last week, being flown down aboard an Antonov Airlines An-124 transport aircraft on September 14, reports Air Forces Daily. The aircraft was overhauled by Airbus Helicopters in Spain earlier this year.

The EC225LP Super Puma Mk II+ was formerly flown by the Spanish Police, which acquired it in 2010 for the National Police Corps Special Operations Group. In 2013 it was returned to Airbus Helicopters in part payment for a new batch of EC135s for the Spanish police, reports Air Forces Daily. It was subsequently stored before being bought by Botswana.

Botswana has recently bought new defence equipment and is planning further acquisitions. In June this year Micro Aviation of South Africa delivered six Bat Hawk light aircraft to the Botswana Defence Force, which plans to arm them with dual 5.56 mm Minimi machineguns. (Four Bat Hawks were also sold to the Botswana Police Service, and four to the country’s Department of Wildlife and National Parks.)

In May it emerged that Botswana was in discussions with Sweden over the purchase of eight Gripen C/D fighter jets. Botswana’s The Sunday Standard later reported that the Botswana Defence Force is planning to buy K2 Black Panther tanks from South Korea. On 16 May the newspaper said that Botswana was on the cusp of spending 2 billion Pula on 45 General Dynamics Piranha 8x8 armoured vehicles armed with 30 mm cannon turrets. The BDF already has 45 Piranha IIIs in service, which were delivered in 2003.

Andrew is mistaken

Prince Harry's first deployment was as a JTAC. His location was kept a secret, but halfway through the newspapers broke the story and he had to be withdrawn.

He completed his second deployment as an Apache pilot.

While his uncle (Prince Charles brother) flew helicopters in the Falklands war.

First in line to the throne doesn't see active deployment, but all the others do.

Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex,

On leaving university, Edward joined the Royal Marines as an officer cadet, having been sponsored by the Marines with £12,000 towards his tuition at Cambridge University on condition of future service . However, in January 1987 he dropped out of the gruelling commando course after completing just one third of the 12-month training. Media reported, at the time, that the move prompted a berating from Prince Philip who "reduced his son to prolonged tears.
After leaving the Marines, Edward opted for a career in entertainment.

He is a Colonel in the Royal Army

Kenya and Uganda to receive Huey II helos

The US Department of Defence (DoD) has contracted Bell Helicopter to deliver 10 refurbished UH-1 Huey II utility helicopters to two African nations for a combined USD86.79 million The contracts, announced by the DoD on 27 September 2016, will see five helicopters delivered to Kenya and five to Uganda before the end of 2017.

While the cost of the Ugandan contract is USD34.54 million, that for Kenya is valued at USD52.24 million. This difference is most likely explained by differing sustainment and support packages for each nation.

those are not medals. That the courses he has done. And the marine commandos is one of the toughest courses out there and officers are required to do it as fast if not faster than junior rates.

As for the medals bellow many things eran you medals including being in the serves for 10 years. Just doing your job can and not being charged can earn you a medal. Deploy to Iraq, medal, deploy to afghanstan, medal, deploy to Kosovo, Medal.

Even in SA people that where madelas funeral got a medal. Just for going there. A medal is a indication of something you have done that maybe a act of bravery or may be just doing your job

you are correct but in my defence this was all from memory. A few of the royals all so have deployed to sea on patrols with the Royal Navy. Personally I respect that of the royal family that they put there life's on the line for the country that pays them there salary.

O the reason the royals get payed money is that there property is managed by the government and they don't make money of it and the royal family owns a lot of land that makes a lot of money. so the royal family pays there own salary in a round a bout way

he had a grade D in his A-levels, but still got sponsored and joined cambridge with a grade way below the required, then he graduated with a 2nd class lower (thats like 50%) , then he tried to join the marienes and failed miserably, he whent to entertainment carreer which dint pan out.... it reached a time where he went back to backingham palace in which the media reported that it was a descision he chose to be a " full time royal family member"....... basicaly that says he had failed in all aspects, he just went back to live with his powerful parents/grand parents because thats the only place he can get whatever he wants withought qualifying for it.... and he was made colonel, and two-three months later, he shows up up with medals.....
Now tell me if a regular soldier can get their in 4 months even after failing the course... i'll just end there

Really don't understand why people feel compelled to share terrorist videos here. A news article - and there are plenty- would suffice. All strength to the Ugandans and the rest of AMISOM.
