Hello Avalon

Am only responding because I have seen this your question many times. I believe you are looking to reduce your tuition fees per Semester. From my understanding, tuition is calculated per credit not by how many Semesters. What you see per Semester reflects how many credits you take in that given Semester. Many programs which are 30 credits take 15 credits per Semester, which could be about 5 courses of 3 credit each.

As a full time student you need to be registered in at least 9 credits per Semester, less than that, and you lose full time status.

Now if you decide to pack all your courses which could be taken over 6 Semesters into 3 Semesters, you won't pay less, rather you will pay the whole 2 years tuition in 1 year, because remember its the credits that is costed not the Semesters.

Hope I was able to answer your question.

That means what he could be able to reduce is the living expense and not the tuition fee?

How much was your fees?

that means it was insufficient funds without working in Canada to pay tuition fees,when you have paid the tuition fees already and provided the receipt in ur app?this comes to tell me they don't check our documents when they have exhausted the numbers they want to take. invariably they didn't check the documents submitted, they just assessed the CIC forms and bank statement and came up with generic refusals that come to their minds.

As you stated that you paid full tuition fee and still got refused on insufficient to pay tuition fee only.
What reason will now be stated on ur GCMS FILE on this fund part?? A silly meaningless excuse will certainly emerge.

For those submitting via paper route,only make copies of your passport and don't submit the original at vfs during ur application submission to enable you source other countries incase of this mofos*(CIC) disappointments than holding ur passport for 4months and rubbishing ur application if you aint lucky.

I have been following this thread from the concluding part of part10. I applied for study permit in may(17) with an admission letter from seneca college to study applied electronics design(1yr program).My undergraduate degree is Elect/elect Eng(second class lower division).Made full payment of tuition to seneca and submitted a proof from the school with my visa app docx. submitted a bank statement of 10m(my late dad's account,which I'm a signatory to) On the 14th of September I was refused without a call for medicals. On getting my passport yesterday, I was refused on 'insufficient funds' basis and personal asset. did I forget to say I made a payment of CAD11k with my tuition hoping that I can get a refund when I get to canada to use sort my accommodation cos I anticipated nigeria's present economic woes. So to be refused on such basis was unthinkable. well I'm starting my refund processing immediately. just felt I should share my case. you guys are doing a great job on here,well done.

Sorry about your refusal, it is funny that after you have paid for tuition they say insufficient fund to pay tuition.

What I think you should do is move the money from your late dad account into your personal account bearing your name, you can mention it is fund inherited from your late dad. This is important since you cannot obtain letter of sponsor from your late dad.

don't pay more that the tuition because the fact you will seek refund of the excess you paid above tuition may make the vo think you will be seeking refund of almost all your tuition after receiving study permit

wish you success in your next application, and I think you should reapply again and quickly since purpose of visit, employment situation and personal asset were not ticked in the refusal

Seniors in the house I need you input quickly. My wife applied since July 14th but no news yet. While waiting she has urgency to travel out of the country to take our baby for medical check up. We mailed Accra requesting for her passport but we were told the passport has to be on queue with the application. What can we do as it is important to take the baby within stipulated period?

Thanks for your input.

@michv: I just smiled when I saw their reason for refusal,it was obvious they didn't look at all the attached document.
@tarry: thanks for the concern, I don't think I'm applying again, I have never really been a fan of non-appearance visa application. the duration is even more killing. 4months?? my program is not even available till September 2017. I had better try another country.

ANY IT PROGRAM, COMPUTER AND NETWORK SUPPORT TECHNICIAN, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROFESSIONAL, NETWORK ADMINISTRATION E.T.C BUT EXCLUDING PROGRAMMING. PLEASE PEOPLE I NEED YOUR INPUT

Check our Lambton, they have Information technology professional and I think Advanced Information Technology Expert, something like that but you can earn 2 certificate with that.
You can also check Information security at Durham college but that's for a Year only. At the end of the day, you'd probably still learn a little bit of programming so as to earn more

You Sabi SubDealer for Hyderabad and Daddy Suzy for Osmania ?

@Tarry lemme be specific here.on a neutral ground i see no reason for such insufficient funds to pay tuition after he had paid his full tuition fees. i have to be judgemental here.The VO obviously discarded the application.when someone is a signatory to an account, does it not mean a JOINT ACCOUNT? If yes, i have right to such account in withdrawing,depositing and transactions of any kind. I have an account with my dad which he is a signatory to and it's a joint account.moving money to his personal account,when he is a signatory holder to the jointly owned account with his dad does not solve the case because if such account is jointly owned,it is legitimately his own unless it's a business/corporate account.

If they want to help you let them help you now,as long as the message is truly from them no cause for alarm,you need not to doubt and who tell you they can not help?

can you imagine, I wrote to the centennial college opting for a refund request and they were like I should consider reapplying that they will help me with the visa process free of charge.. please is this true of its just wash because I can't see how they can help out in any way. I stand to be corrected though

Mayor05, I think you can appeal this because you are not satisfied and the reason stated doesnt add up.
So rathet than re-apply.Appeal if you do that it will be reviewed by another VO.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by olaniyisal: 10:03am On Sep 28, 2016
Good day house,

Please, how can tackle this reason.

The VO says this as shown below.

"I am also not satisfied that the applicant would leave Canada at the end of an authorized stay given, in part because of educational and employment history.

Thanks as u respond.

Personally ,i think it is more logical that you transfer the 10m into ur own acct..being a signatory to an account does not mean that the fund is automatically or entirely yours.sometimes we shld not also blame d vo for our own mistakes.

#smiles..i see no mistake here. When you have paid your tuition fee in full with evidence by the receipt.if it were insufficient funds to maintain your self or transporting yourself to and fro canada,my sister i may agree with you.the VO should have TICKED insufficient funds without working in Canada to maintain yourself or transport yourself then i might agree the VO was somehow right with his discretion.

@Mayor,are you the only child of your late dad?you need to apply for gcms to really know what transpired in your app. and we need to know that as paying tuition fee can give us a score in our app so also we need to be strategic about it,insufficient fund goes as well with other documents you submitted.[quote author=mayor05 post=49724946]I have been following this thread from the concluding part of part10. Another quick question please. The attached document is a break down of financial status. I have the compulsory 10k dollars (equivalence in naira) and intend to register 9 credit each semester, making it 18credit for the 1st year. If my bank statement read 18 credit tuition fee + 10k dollars equivalence in naira. Hope i dont have to watch my back with the VO ? (I am offering 30 credits in total for my MEng program and will be completed in 4 semesters)

My acceptance letter didn't specify my tuition fee cost but got this from goggle

I would like to find out what to do in this situation. Given that the Naira is in a comma at the moment and there is every tendency for it to continue on the downward path, is there anyway to start saving in CAD now to prevent further degradation of one's savings ?

For instance
Savings => NGN 2M
USD@452 => 4,424.78
USD->CAD@1.32148 => 5,847.26
CAD@Official => 8397.41

The difference between buying from the parallel market and the official is quite high
