EUROPA LEAGUE: Israeli Football Expert Warns Southampton About Hapoel Beer Sheva Nigerian Duo Benny Glowinsky who works for respected Israeli media outlet One.co.il has warned English side Southampton about the threat of the Nigerian duo of John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme, who are both players of Hapoel Beer Sheva. Hapoel Beer Sheva will welcome to English side in the week two fixtures of the Europa league smarting from their 2-0 away win over former European Champions Inter Milan. Speaking to the official website of Southampton Benny rated the Nigerian duo as two of the best players of the Israeli champions. “The captain Elyaniv Barda was voted player of the season in ’15-’16, but he’s picked up an injury and won’t play. 27-year-old Nigerian winger Anthony Nwakaeme has been their best player since the beginning of the season, along with compatriot John Ogu” He said. “Centre-back Miguel Vitor turned out to be a great purchase. Playmaker Maor Melikson is the creative force.” owngoalnigeria.com/2016/09/27/europa-league-israeli-football-expert-warns-southampton-about-hapoel-beer-sheva-nigerian-duo/ 1 Like |

Ohhhhh.... But I can.... You should know by now that I don't make "anyhow" comments. Looolllll.... But lemme give you a reminder of one "twisted truth" You once said, "Solanke outscored Iheanacho in the premier league 2 for U-21s" when it is on record that Nacho was actually "INJURED" FOR THE MOST PARTS OF THE SEASON ONLY FOR HIM TO RETURN and score about 6goals in 7 appearances post-injury for Man City's EDS in the 2014/15 season across competitions like the FA Youth cup (where Nacho made just one appearance and still scored which was in the final), The Premier league 2 for U-21s (where Nacho made not more than 4-5appearances and the FA international youth league cup...) Yet you said, "Solanke outscored Nacho" How Egbon? In a league campaign where Nacho was absent still the final few weeks. You also said Solanke outscored him in the Uefa Youth league. How again?? When Nacho only played 11 mins before a serious relapse of the injury that kept him away all the while occurred and kept him out further till the final few weeks of the season with the EDS. Oga... U sabi twist truth no be smalll..... Evidence boku... But no hard feelings shaa... forgiveness: |

The records still showed that he outscored him na because Nacho registered and played in those competitions na. If he never registered or played at all then I can understand but he participated in those competitions. His name is on the register to show he took part. You can have glance at Solanke's records. Therefore, my facts still stands. At youth level, Solanke continued to score at a prolific rate scoring 15 goals in 16 games before Christmas and finishing as top scorer in the group stages of the UEFA Youth League after a hat trick in the final group stage match against Sporting CP.[7][8] On 10 April 2015, Solanke scored a brace in the semifinal of the 2014–15 UEFA Youth League against A.S. Roma to send Chelsea into the final.[9] Solanke scored again against Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Youth league final ending the tournament with 12 goals in 9 games as Chelsea won the title.[10] On 20 April, Solanke scored a late goal to give his side a 3–1 win in the first leg of the FA Youth Cup final against Manchester City.[11] With this goal, Solanke reached the 35-goal mark this season.[12] On 7 May, Solanke reached 41 goals for the season after scoring a hat-trick in a 4-3 victory over Liverpool U21.[13] On 30 May 2015, Solanke clinched the only goal of the game in a post-season friendly against Thailand All-Stars, therefore scoring his first senior goal of his career.[14] |

Zambia Coach Nyirenda Happy With Team Spirit Ahead Super Eagles Clash Zambia coach, Wedson Nyirenda says his players are getting grips with his philosophy as they intensify preparations ahead of the October 9 2018World Cup qualifying fixture against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, reports Completesportsnigeria.com. Nyirenda took charge of his first training session with the Chipolopolo on Monday following his appointment as head coach of the side early this month. "I think they are doing fine. They are getting into shape, but as usual when you are a new coach in a team, some players may be skeptical, but I think things are shaping up and they are doing a good job," Nyirenda told Lusakatimes.com. "We are trying to give everyone a chance to showcase their talent, and like I said earlier, we are doing two phases at one time; that is to prepare the team for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, while we are also rebuilding the team. "We need to formulate and work hard to build a team that will stand the test of time." Meanwhile, Completesportsnigeria.com learnt that the players will be released on Thursday to play for their respective clubs in league games this weekend. The Chipolopolo will regroup on Sunday when the nine foreign- based players are expected to join their colleagues in camp. www.completesportsnigeria.com/zambia-coach-nyirenda-happy-team-spirit-ahead-super-eagles-clash/ |

safarigirl: Sam Allardyce loses job as England manager and may face further disciplinary action from the FA The Football Association decided that Sam Allardyce had to go as England manager following the revelations in a Daily Telegraph investigation because it is “the guardian of the game” and he had fallen below the standards expected. Allardyce’s private apology in talks, and his offer to make a public one, for his ill-judged remarks were not enough to save him after a day of intense discussions. His tenure was effectively ended around 4pm with a formal announcement delayed until closer to 8pm once the details were agreed. Crucially, Allardyce will still face an FA inquiry into the comments he made during the investigation, specifically on third-party ownership and offering advice to businessmen on how to get around the governing body’s rules on transfers. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/09/27/sam-allardyce-loses-job-as-england-manager-after-telegraph-inves/ |

Europa League: Ideye Urges Olympiacos’ Improvement Against Apoel Nicosia By Johnny Edward: Olympiacos forward, Brown Ideye, has urged his teammates to put behind them last weekend's loss away to Larissa and concentrate more on beating Cyprus side, Apoel Nicosia, in Thursday's Europa League game, reports Completesportsnigeria.com. The Greek league champions suffered a shock 1-0 loss away to Larissa, ending a ten straight winning streak in the league since March, and Ideye who who failed to score in the match, reminded his teammates of how important their next two fixtures are. Ideye who is expected to lead the lines against Apoel Nicosia also played down talks of the team being in disarray. The Greek Champions defeated Young Boys from Switzerland 1-0 in their opening fixture. "As players we know how important these two games are for our team. Therefore, we must leave behind the bad performance in the defeat and concentrate on the next games," Ideye said during Olympiakos' Europa League pre-match conference. "I do not believe that we have trouble building up to this game against Apoel. We have proven that we create chances," On his partnership with Oscar Cardoso, the former Dynamo Kiev and West Brom star says he'll build a formidable force with the former Benfica forward with time. "I get along very well and he is a very good guy.It is very good that our cooperation is growing but it will take more hard work. I am very happy and willing to do whatever I ask my coach." AF Nigeria Premier League 2016/2017 Watford Isaac Success and I will fight for Eagles shirts - Uche Agbo Granada defender Uche Agbo has celebrated his first-ever invitation by Nigeria with tough talk that he and former teammate Isaac Success will fight for first-team places in the Super Eagles. Uche Agbo is a replacement for injured Germany-based defender Leon Balogun for next month's World Cup qualifier against Zambia. The former Nigeria U20 defensive midfielder has now been deployed as a central defender by his La Liga club Granada. “(Isaac) Success has already called to tell me that even though this will be our first-ever invitations to the Super Eagles, we will go all out to fight to make the first team,” Uche Agbo revealed. “Both of us have longed to play for the Eagles and as it were, we were called up the same time.” Uche Agbo further revealed his call-up is dedicated to his younger brother, who he rates as a better player than he. Eagles coach Gernot Rohr personally phoned up Agbo to tell me he has been called up for the World Cup qualifier in Zambia. “The coach called me up to inform me of my invitation,” he said. “I just knelt down inside my room and prayed to God because he has been faithful.” Interestingly, the Granada ace earned his Eagles call-up playing as a central defender after he was converted to this position this season by the La Liga club. “It was a blessing in disguise after I was moved to central defence,” he said. “I have always played in midfield but it was as a central defender that I have now been invited to the Eagles. “This season, I have played all the games as a central defender.” By Kola Daniel africanfootball.com//news/650799/Isaac-Success-and-I-will-fight-for-Eagles-shirts-Uche-Agbo 1 Like |

Arsenal's Alex Iwobi disappointed to miss Olympics with Nigeria Mattias Karen Alex Iwobi wishes Arsenal would have let him play at the Olympics with Nigeria, but realises that going to Rio may also have hampered his progress with the Gunners. Iwobi, 20, was blocked from joining the Nigeria squad for the Rio de Janeiro Games in August as it would have ruled him out of the start of the Premier League season, a decision that Iwobi accepted. "I would like to have played in the Olympics -- doing that would have been a big thing for me," Iwobi told the London Evening Standard. "If I had gone, I would have missed a couple of Arsenal games at least and the boss [Arsene Wenger] didn't want that. I wish I did go but at the end of the day I did what the boss wanted and I am happy to be where I am. If I had gone, I might not be where I am now." Iwobi started Arsenal's season-opening game against Liverpool only to sustain a thigh injury that ruled him out for three weeks. But he has been an integral part of the team's success since his return to fitness, including in the 3-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday. After breaking into the first team last spring, he is now a regular first-choice starter for Wenger and seems to still have plenty of room for development. "I don't even look at how far I've come. I wouldn't say I'm in a daze right now but I'm just enjoying it as it comes and whatever happens, happens," Iwobi said. The attacking midfielder was born in Lagos but his family moved to London when he was four years old and he joined the Arsenal academy while still in primary school. Despite playing for England's youth teams, Iwobi opted to represent Nigeria internationally after being first called up in 2015. And his uncle, Nigeria legend Jay-Jay Okocha, still offers him advice on how to deal with his newfound success. "When I was growing up, he helped me a lot on the pitch," Iwobi said. "He gave me game advice a lot but the older I am getting, he is helping me off the pitch more so I can be professional and focus on the football. "He's always telling me what could happen, what you are about to face. He always says 'concentrate on the football first -- the rest is just luxury stuff that comes with it." m.espn.com/soccer/story?storyId=2961069&top&wjb= 1 Like |

GloryIsaac: Lets not be carried carried away by the scintillating forms of Iwobi and Iheanacho. Our team has not really taken shape yet.In the past we have had a very talented crop of Super Eagles that still failed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup. That squad had: Nwankwo Kanu, Austin Okocha, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, John Utaka, Obafemi Martins, Julius Aghahowa, Celestine Babayaro, Ayo Makinwa, Chidi Odiah, Osaze Odemwingie, Joseph Yobo, Obinna Nwaneri, Wilson Oruma, Christian Obodo, Seyi Olofinjana, Yusuf Ayila, Vincent Enyeama, Austin Ejide among others. Stars studded but we failed to qualify. We have since then not been able to assembly such a team with great quality. (shake my head). 1 Like |

tbaba1234: Not true. The qualifiers were played in 2004-2005. Most of the players were in their best forms. Okocha was destroying defenses at the EPL with Bolton. Kanu had moved to Westbrom from Arsenal. Aiyegbeni was on the ascendency, think he just moved to Everton, Martins was at Inter-Milan, Aghahowa was at Sharktar Donesk, Osaze was with Locomotive Moscow, Obodo was with Peruggia, Babayaro was with New Castle, Utaka was with Rennes, Yobo was with Everton. Ayo Makinwa was playing in Seria A, Ayila was with Dynamo Kyiv. Most of those guys were on the ascendency. Osaze, Utaka, Yakubu,Martins, Yobo, Ayila were our young and hot prospects then. They were almost at the peaks of their careers. 2 Likes |
