A black cat??
Our hyper-spiritual people here won't like that grin grin

You know, there is this belief among many Nigerian christians that cats can easily be possesed by witches and evil powers. lipsrsealed
I think i strangely share this belief, cos that's what we were told.

I hate that too. I wonder what evil-doers need cats for that dogs, rats, mice, lizards and insects cannot do. It's because of their glowy eyes.

Cats just have a scary nature, especially for those of us who were really fed with spiritual stories and meanings from childhood. The eyes are dreadful.

don't know about other localities in Nigeria but I know that fish traders (stock fish, cryfish etc)here in aba breed cats considerably. I personally think that the cat is more intelligent mammal than the dog
some dogs can be very stupid.

I'd have one but my neighbourhood is full of merciless hounds. I've heard a few cats scream at night angry

In a friendlier neighbourhood, smiley I had one crazy male cat that scared my neighbours at night grin It was plain grey and extra long and extra hairy, which made some of my neighbours afraid of it. He's now in heaven but not before leaving me a lot of grandkids all over the neighbourhood. We'll meet again! grin

One fascinating thing about d mother cat is, it does go hunting like dogs, but alone, kill and bring home its prey for us to eat. I jst love cats

I've never had a cat, but i've been scared of them for no particular reason actually. I was the same with dogs but I sucked it up and realised how fun and loving the can be and now I'm in love with dogs and can't wait to get my own dog. I hope i feel the same about cats someday. they don't seem harmful at all lol

why only cats tho? what stops the spirit from possessing your dog, chicken, goat or even a rat in your house? where was it written in the bible that cats are evil? abeg ee. SOME Christians are just overly superstitious. undecided

Ummm.. I don't know why Nigerians just can't leave cats alone.
I still remember the day mom had us carry our first cat to grandma's house so she could kill it for us to eat. I was there when she started, i left the scene and I cried outside. Sounds so horrible how my beloved cat was crying while being killed. cry cry [tears almost falling from my eyes as I am typing this.] sad memory. cry

Hahaha, I remember mom kept chickens when we we're kids. Every time she brought one to be killed, it would look sad and we would beg her to leave it. Sometimes, she would listen to us and kill it after we went to bed. The next day she would say someone stole it.
Oh men!!!! You won't believe I am just puting two and two together right now. As in this very moment. After almost 25 years? Damn..... that woman played us real good.
I sha noticed we had chicken the days after our own gets stolen.

It is beautiful. I can't keep any cats though. They go in and out like they please. This makes me worry about where they have been and the health risk that may bring to my home.
