TheSuperNerd: At youth level, Solanke continued to score at a prolific rate scoring 15 goals in 16 games before Christmas and finishing as top scorer in the group stages of the UEFA Youth League after a hat trick in the final group stage match against Sporting CP.[7][8] On 10 April 2015, Solanke scored a brace in the semifinal of the 2014–15 UEFA Youth League against A.S. Roma to send Chelsea into the final.[9] Solanke scored again against Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Youth league final ending the tournament with 12 goals in 9 games as Chelsea won the title.[10] On 20 April, Solanke scored a late goal to give his side a 3–1 win in the first leg of the FA Youth Cup final against Manchester City.[11] With this goal, Solanke reached the 35-goal mark this season.[12] On 7 May, Solanke reached 41 goals for the season after scoring a hat-trick in a 4-3 victory over Liverpool U21.[13] On 30 May 2015, Solanke clinched the only goal of the game in a post-season friendly against Thailand All-Stars, therefore scoring his first senior goal of his career.[14] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominic_Solanke Sorry, I didn't write it. Accuse the writer of that not me Even with Iheanacho in the team, they were still trashed. sorry.

safarigirl:There are few scenarios in which Iheanacho will feature for city. 1. In EFL games 2. When Aguero is not available for selection 3. In games that are wrapped up early he can be brought in as a sub to rest first choice players 4. When city is chasing a game Pep can bring him in to play as a second striker |

Its looking like Iwobi is a much better player to Iheanacho, I foresee Iwobi winning African footballer award before Iheanacho. 4 Likes |

safarigirl: I did not have chance to watch yesterday's game. As for the game against the swans, Guardiola hates conceding, the pressure from the midfield was too much to make an attacking switch. Most switches were for control. |

clefstone:So the Swansea game did not meet one of these requirements? And yesterday when they needed a win? Except, Guardiola wasn't playing for a win. Loke I said, resting him is the sokw excuse for the last 2 games |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by safarigirl(f): 8:57am On Sep 29, 2016 |
zicky:Iwobi is a more used player. Kelechi would ne starting if he was in Arsenal. The more frequent player is usually the better eventually. Me thinks Kelechi should look for another team next Season because City won't use him like he should be used, Gabriel Jesus comes in January and he'll be seeing even less games As for CAF APOTY, both of them hsve at least 2 seasons to go for that |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:20am On Sep 29, 2016 |
safarigirl: With the work Guardiola does on players, this is the wrong time for Kelechi to leave Manchester City. There is growth in players like Aguero, 11 goals in 7 games. Sterling looks dynamic and better. Form of his life. Apart from the Shocker Kolarov had, he is one of the top performing defenders. When you see De Bruyne looking like one of the best players in the World under Guardiola, we can not doubt the education. Iheanacho is still young and needs to learn under Guardiola who improved a lot of players in the past. There are four tourneys/leagues. He will play. For now, as Xabi Alonso put it, working with Guardiola is like an MBA course in football. |

safarigirl:3-1 is not a wrap in d epl these days so d Swansea game didn't meet that reqt. As for yes'day's game, you don't change to a less defensive formation against a team that has taken the lead 3 times. Bringing in a second striker would hv left city more vulnerable at the back against a team that had breached their goal 3 times already. |

clefstone:3-1 in 80 minutes is not a wrap? Lol.....EPL must have evolved in a space of 2 months, Swansea must have gotten Henry and Messi as forwards to ensure they close the 2 goal gap in 13 or so minutes. Who said anything about 2 strikers? What was wrong in subbing Aguero? That's how Pep subs them, Aguero for Kelechi, I don't remember him doing much the entire 90 minutes, Rodgers put on Patrick Roberts in 81 minutes....like I said, Guardiola must have been going for a draw which may not be very smart considering they're not lijeky to win Barca home and away |

TheGoodJoe:To me Iheanacho coming on for Aguero has dual uses, he is a more willing presser and he can also help kill of a match instead of trying to hold on. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by safarigirl(f): 10:09am On Sep 29, 2016 |
BascoVanVeli:my point exactly...some people here suddenly want us to believe that Iheanacho is good for nothing, as if we haven't been watching City's games. Because Kelechi has been off the radar for 2 games, they've conveniently forgotten how good he is, telling me he won't make it in Arsenal's starting line-up, Walcott must have attained Aguero status overnight 1 Like |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:15am On Sep 29, 2016 |
BascoVanVeli: Iheanacho presses and tracks back better than Aguero. In that game, we needed control from the deep of the team. Defenders and Central midfield. So bringing Iheanacho would help but not to the right magnitude we needed. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:17am On Sep 29, 2016 |
clefstone: Arsenal has a case of poor finishers, that is why Arsene Wenger converted Sanchez to a striker. Iheanacho will start at Arsenal because Arsene Wenger does not have a trusted striker. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:22am On Sep 29, 2016 |
safarigirl: City are still building. Most times, teams are built from the back. In our last two games, City came under high pressure. So most of the changes are to deal with these pressures. Guardiola could throw in Nacho but his concentration was on how to control the game. Guardiola rates Nacho highly and there is no doubt Nacho will get enough chances. |

safarigirl:I am sure Wenger would find a way to start Nacho, I am sure he was watching the manchester derby. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 10:36am On Sep 29, 2016 |
Don't bother with those guys...... They only get their voices back when Nacho is not in action. Nacho is under a coach who's the best in the business and who believes in rotating his squad from time to time.... So Nacho will get to feature more as time goes on. Someone saying Iwobi is better or will win the Apoty before Nacho is being very myopic and divisive. Iwobi is getting games. Nacho will bench all of Arsenal's no.9s if he's there.... That I insist. #fact safarigirl: |

I just wish Aguero hasn't extended that contract..... Now that he did, then we got a new plan... "Outshine the master consistently" As for chances, I hope they come thick and fast for Nacho.... Haba!!! We're talking about a kid who can walk into most EPL teams' starting 11. TheGoodJoe: |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:44am On Sep 29, 2016 |
BascoVanVeli: I did not watch the game. The highlights yesterday and analysis show we were even under a higher pressure from Celtic. So I do not think Guardiola would play Iheanacho early in the game. I think Guardiola made only two subs and I think towards the end, Celtic players got tired. I think at the 75-80 minutes, I think Iheanacho could help nick the win. Guardiola should have subbed Aguero to bring in freshness to the attack. I think it was a case of Guardiola more interested in how the team controlled the game than just going for the win. He did not expect a draw and wake had chances to win the game. |

TheSuperNerd:As in, the way some people are quick to jump at Kelechi's lack of game tine as an indication that he isn't good enough is annoyibg. One person getting more game tine doesn't make him better, he's just lucky to be in a team that can allow such. Iwobi would beg for game time in City because he certainly can't bench KDB 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: The Competition is good. We have Sane who was impressive last season in the Bundesliga. At 19, earned a call up to the German European Championship squad. He is putting pressure on Sterling to take the right wing forward role. We have Iheanacho who Guardiola said is a quality finisher pushing Aguero for a starting place. The competition will make these youngsters work hard to break into the squad and keep their places. Nacho is working hard because he knows Gabriel Jesus is a brilliant player. A sharp finisher too. 1 Like |

Really annoying but I've learnt to deal with their "hate"... Lol.. Nacho is the leader of Nigeria's Generation Next followed by Iwobi... They're twin Leaders of Nigeria's football of tomorrow. Indeed, Iwobi won't see enough game time in the presence of competition from Nolito, Sterling, Kevin De Brains, and leroy Sane. Haba!!! Nacho's competition is One of the very best in the business in Kun Aguero and people till dey run mouth... Abeg who be Iwobi's competition at Arsenal sef?? safarigirl: |

I know Gabriel Jesus very well. It was the same dude that massacred us at New Zealand 2015 in that thrilling 4-2 game. Gabriel roasted Mustapha abdullahi... Ended his career right there as we know it today. Looolllll... Our beloved picture boy. Gabriel is a quality player with good dribbling skills but his finishing is nothing like NACHO'S... KAIIII... It's difficullt to find A finisher of Nacho's brand. Very very difficult. The competition is great. But I know Nacho will continue to strive and shine on.... TheGoodJoe: 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd:Sanchez is obviously better than Kelechi and also at par with Aguero. Giroud as a number 9 is better than our home boy when you consider experience and aerial ability. Perez, I can't rate yet cos he has not played on a consistent basis. For walcott, I don't fancy him that much 1 Like |
