Nairalanders, How would you feel if your male son or brother decides to go study nursing in the university? What pops up in your mind when you see a male nurse here in Naija? What advice will you give to a male nursing aspirant?

Study in Nigeria then travel to the US, Europe or Middle East after NYSC & Co. Acquire all the necessary certifications

Lol. There is nothing wrong with thaat. I am a living witness. I graduated last year. Infact male nurses work more like doctors. There are few disadvantages tho for instance, some private hospitals do not recruit male nurses they prefer female nurses they can pay peanut and order around.

I urge you, encourage that your brother to study nursing so that togetHer,we can curb tthe many challenges facing the noble profession.

I VALUE and admire male nurses! Seriously there is nothing wrong with a man studying nursing! The male nurses I've met are amazing, some are even way more knowledgeable and caring the the female nurses. If nursing is what you want to do go, go for it!! If there aren't opportunisties in Nigeria, I can assure you there are lots abroad (like in the Middle East).

Btw there is a nursing students and nursing aspirant thread
