The Much awaited Edo Elections has come and gone with a new system of accreditation and voting, which was fairly successful in my opinion.

lets drop our opinion on how the next elections in Ondo state can better, especially on the case of over voting.

How can INEC arrest issue of overvoting

@OP: The better/best rigger will always carry the day, simple. It also helps if the winner is also relatively popular. It's difficult to outrig an incumbent, not unless you're a Fayose. Aregbesola still beat the PDP in spite of Jonathan's Federal might, Wike defeated Amaechi's candidate in spite of incumbency factor, while Fayose defeated Fayemi even though he was an incumbent.

Actually my Question is what are the deficiencies observed if you followed the election, and how can we make it better.

Lol. I like you idealism but get real. In your mind you honestly think elections can actually be 'free and fair' enough to satisfy all parties in Nigeria?? It's all about what side of the divide you're on. In the Edo instance for example, PDP supporters will swear they were robbed, while the APC will maintain they won fair and square, in spite of any evidence to the contrary. It's just the nature (and politics) of elections in most parts of the world. Even in the almighty U.S of A, parties and candidates still accuse each other voter fraud till this very day. Don't bother yourself.

If voting was immediately after accreditation, how was over voting recorded and how can it be prevented in future elections

Aunty I agree that Nigeria's electioneering is peculiar, we also have to look into , how can we make the process better for international acceptance.
An issue that needs to be looked into is How can if immediately after accreditation you vote and yet there is still over voting. How did it happen. Did the voters come in with multiple slips.
With this Process, number of accredited voters should be equal number of actual vote.
All in all it was a process which I can give 90% ,
I say kudos to INEC and congratulations to Godwin Obaseki

As far as, Nigeria elections is concerned there is nothing as free and fair election, free and fair election died last year, INEC only do the bidding of Abuja, don't be surprised if what happened in Edo repeat itself at Ondo state.

It is usually termed not free and fair for the loser.
For the winner it is God and the collective will of the people.
Case in study ,Rivers Bayelsa ,Akwaibom.

In as much as that is a good idea, if it ever gets into wrong hands , it can be used to trace voters

this is a card reader problem. At times the card reader does not start reading from zero due to improper configuration. Sometimes the card reader is just acts, the problem could also come from the operator. If the registered voters on the voter register matches with the votes cast and also tallies with the number of ballot paper used, the is no much worry. The problem is that colation offices only use the card readers to take down the number of accredited voters, they dont see the voters register.

I believe it is at the point of accreditation, the ballot paper is given or should be given. Maybe people who participated in this particular election can clarify us. If so how can votes cast be more than or less than of voting by an individual is directly after being accredited
