Hey!

I have seen this method somewhere on the internet before, but the only problem I've got with it is the 1.67 thing. Why will the school use that figure instead of 2 (for it to reflect the said 60:40 model)? And also, that is more like a 50:50 model.

I think we might understand the model when our scores are sent to us. I am also thinking that should commence today.
Yes its 50:50, just that the figures are rounded to 2 decimal places. 50% of 30 (I.e WAEC aggregate points) is 1.67

That's true. I understand that now.

Thanks.

Aspirants you can now calculate your score, very likely they'll use this method: WAEC grades in the subject combination where A is 6, B2 5, B3 4, C4 3, C5 2 and C6 1. Multiply by 1.67. Divide UME score by 8, add up the total, that's makes your score. Compare it with your departmental cut off when they release it. Keep expecting your score though via emails and text messages. All the best!

wu az tried calculatin dier score wid dis n wah did u geh??

UI should have just said the day the scores will be sent instead of making candidates waiting unnecessarily

The first and most important thing you guys need to learn as regards to UI is how to be patient. I'll advise that you take your mind totally off it and take a chill pill. UI will do whatever she says at her own convenient time without rush.

It seems we need post utme back in Nigeria and I think it's time we fought for its re-introduction coz the way things are going now, many hopes will be shattered due to weak o level grades! The thing is, the advantage of post utme can never be overemphasized! Going by the way external exams are being conducted now, you and I should know that the devil is in control! Let's take for example, someone who gets 200 in jamb and As in his/her o levels(acquired through runs) will have the greatest advantage over someone with 250, Bs and Cs in o levels (acquired through one's brain) in this era of so called POINT SYSTEMS! If we don't wanna fool ourselves 89% of those with good o levels results are not the brains behind what they've got in possession. Waec has lost its glory and is in a state of abyss. Results are forged and the recent case of a man clearly shows true but disgusting happenings!

It was in those days that waec had its credibility! Let's ask our parents! When there were no phones in our fathers, mothers, grand and great, how could they possibly cheat?! With the way things are going, some people who have been seeking admission into universities and with weak o levels will go back, to resit for exams that will fetch them As and Bs. Now, the advantage of post utme can be extracted from my aforementioned msgs. Some people became over studious when the post utme of their schools knocked doors(during its existence)! Some people with not so good o levels performed excellently than those with fake certificates! A friend of mine who had 220 in last yr jamb, had 82 in unilorin putme while a person with 290 ended up with 56! Going by that in the era of point system, the latter gets attractive points and the former is left with no other opportunity of working harder to improve in 'the further exam'. Post utme is like a life saver. Both the dull and the weak hustle to get higher marks in post utme IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR JAMB SCORE AND O LEVEL RESULTS but now that it's been scrapped, no opportunity is left for one to perform is best! Admission is now based on one stupid jamb score gotten through jamb irregularities and one foolish o level results gotten through different means! Can we compare OAU putme questions with that of jamb? What about UI, UNILAG AND UNILORIN? People failed woefully Please, post utme should be bought back! I'm Fehintoluwa. Ui law aspirant.

i'm really surprised pple did not kick against this new system in the first place. It will only encourage malpractice in WAEC and its unfair to students that wrote theirs a few yrs ago. UI's system of pume last yr is wat every school shud be doin, same way UNN conducted its pume b4 d new system. Pume shud stay and be based on the same jamb subjects alone until jamb. becomes credible

The only reason i chose UI because admission was based on ONLY post ume performance. This is the only way to get the best. Jamb is a try and luck exam. If they continue with this system, everybody will be going to riverine communities to write WAEC
