Help!
My girlfriend used p*stinor 2 yesterday just an hour after we had s*x. She took 2 and said it's not her first time using it. Is there anything we can do before it.... She lives with her parents.
Pahdin? I don't understand your post. What do you want from this thread of pregnant/nursing women?

About hot sit bath, when I had my first baby, i literally sat inside a 'basin' of hot water that made the stitches to loose and I had to be stitched again. My power house saw oba eh!!!.

I was told to use a paint bucket like the 4litres custard type to do sit bath when I went back to the hospital the second time.I will pour hot water in it, (not too hot or cold ),just enough to produce steam.add salvon and sit on it with my legs closed. The STEAM is what I need to heal the power house not the hot water and it was really ok.

When I feel it's too hot, I just stand up and rest small and seat again, make person jajaina no go perboil. grin

My dear I can imagine what ur power house saw cry I won't lie to you, am seriously avoiding hot/warm water o,atleast for now.My fear not is weda the scar will varnish.

I had to go and search for the initial post.
Well, you DO need blood supplement all through your pregnancy and even while nursing....so her statement is quite incorrect. Eating vegetables is a substitute for blood supplement

Remember, NONE shall cast her young and you shall be safe in child bearing!

My heart is filled with joy and gratitude to God! Please let's all be praiseful and speak positive words! Don't forget to always ask for clarifications if you don't undastand hw you feel or you av passed your due date! Wisdom is profitable to direct. Afflictions must not arise in this team!

We all should be full term by now. Discuss birth options with your doctor. Be open minded. Wateva method of delivery to be used is irrelevant! The most important aspect is mother alive, baby alive, father alive! Above all, be prayerful. Just a word to God is ok.

I love you all and i'm waiting to celebrate your birth announcements kiss kiss kiss

My Birth story comes in 3 phases.

Pre-birth story.

Sometime in 2009 I noticed my menstrual flow suddenly increased. But it wasn't until 2010 I was diagnosed with fibroids when I went to the hospital to complain of some really bad abdominal pain. The gyne I met gave me 3 options
1: do nothing and just monitor the growth. 2: use lupron injections to shrink the fibroids but with a warning it might grow back bigger than before
3: Surgery to take out the fibroids.

I decided to go with option 1 since I was Not married or ready to get pregnant.
Watching and managing the fibroids included trying herbal"fibroid shrinking" supplements (fibroidclear) for about 3 months, drinking shakeoff for some days (that shit tested my gag reflexes mehn), health changes ( removing carbs and sugar from my diet and exercises) and doing scans to check the growth/shrinkage of it. But every time I did a scan i get same statement from different doctors "When are you getting married madam? You need to take the fibroids out before you can get pregnant.
I continued managing the fibroids until I got married in 2013 and only issues i had was extremely heavy flow and long periods (usually bleed until CD13). The plan was to go for surgery in January 2014 and my doctor scheduled for me to do a pre-op HSG in December so the plan was to report to the hospital when AF stops in December.... but the devil tried to frustrate himself. I bleed for 6months straight and all efforts to stop the bleeding seemed not to work. Thankfully, in the 5th month of the bleeding i got referred to another OBGYN who prescribed Lupron injections for 2 months and it stopped the bleeding. Alleluia!!! The myomectomy was uneventful, surgery went well and I had no complications and upto 30 different sized masses where taken out.
TTC'd for a while and got pregnant when I least expected (my former TTC sistas know my story)... reported to the hospital and the first thing my doc says is 'hope you know you would have to undergo CS for delivery, because you are at risk of uterine rupture. So basically I had prepared my mind for the CS from the beginning.
My pregnancy was very stressfree, no MS no spitting, no constipation, no swollen feet or nose... absolutely nothing.

Birth story.

My Obgyn scheduled my CS for 39weeks but warned that if I experienced any signs of labor before 39 weeks wether false labor or not, I should report to the labor and delivery ward immediately...so I begged Ayomide to stay put until 39weeks cos I hadn't finished shopping yet grin. At my last ANC visit at 38weeks i was given an antibacterial soap and was given the following instructions:
1- soap is to be used the night before and the morning of the surgery. I was told to lather my body from neck down with the soap, leave for 10 mins and rinse off....this was to be done twice the night before and once in the morning. It was supposed to help prevent infection
2- not shave like 3 days before...same infection prevention
3- not eat or drink anything after midnight
4- arrive at the hospital at 6:30am

The night before: I was sooo excited and anxious i couldn't stay still. I packed my hospital bag and started cleaning kitchengrin my DH had to chase me to bed. Managed to sleep for 1hr before someone from naija decided to flash my phone at 2am angry.... I couldn't go back to sleep.
Dh and I got ready, prayed, got a taxi and headed for the hospital.
Got to the hospital and the security man that was meant to check me in was trying to convince me to go to the emergency room so they can use wheelchair to take me upstairs... hian! I told him it wasn't necessary mbok, I wasn't in labor and na lift i go still enter go up..no be say i go climb stairs.
Checked in at the nurses station and when I said I was checking in for CS, the nurse goes "Oh lord, when it rains it pours". So I knew we were plenty wey dey born that day grin
Settled into my delivery room, a baby monitor was strapped on my tummy and an IV inserted in my arms. People from different units would come in, ask questions, tell me what they would do and have me sign.... urine and blood samples were taken and I was meant to go to the theatre by 8am. Unfortunately for me they had 3 emergencies so mine was pushed to number 4. I was angry, hungry, anxious and tired. My obgyn (who happens to be different from my surgeon) came to check on me and advised that I either try to move around or my dh should apply pressure to my toes to prevent blood clot.
Finally at 2:30 the surgeon's assistant came to take me to the theatre.
Spinal block was done and I laid down. They put up the clothes to cover my body so I couldn't see them but could hear them.
My DH came in and sat by my face so we were gisting.
I started shivering and warm towels were placed around my head and upper body and the shivering stopped.
Then the anesthesiologist told me that the baby would be out soon...that I was going to feel pressure on my chest due to the suction.
I felt the pressure and my dh tells me 'he's out'. Oh! Then I heard him cry, and my tears flowed freely. Oh what joy! The neonatal doctor brought him to our face for like a second and took him to go clean him up. From then I dint hear what the doctors were saying again, I was just hearing my baby cry and that was all that mattered to me.

Post BS.

I was stitched up and sent to the post-op station for monitoring. My BP was checked every couple of minutes and the nurse kept asking if I could move my toes. But I was more interested in seeing my baby and dh so I kept asking her where they were grin
Finally when I could move my toes, I was moved to the post-natal ward with my dh. I was quite hungry but could only chew on ice block cubes.. I kept telling my dh that it tasted like icecream grin the guy just give me side eyes. When Ayomide was brought to me, the hunger disappeared. I held my baby in my arms for the first time, that feeling is best experienced! I pray every woman experiences this in her lifetime.
I was advised to formula feed him since my BM wasn't flowing yet. He passed meconium and was feeding ok.
Next morning the nurse comes to help me with a sponge bath and I realized I could stand upright without any pains, amazing!
Ayomide was circumcised under anesthesia, he was even sleeping when they brought him back.
My breastmilk started flowing after I used a breast pump and by the next day the breasts were so engorged I felt like I had been punched in the breasts. But I got a tip from a wonderful mama here to put cold cabbage in my bra, and that worked.
Ayomide and I were discharged to go home as we were both perfectly ok. And we have been doing great since then, it can only be by God's special grace.
Motherhood is an amazing journey especially when one has a support system like we do on this thread and in the newborn thread . I thank all the mums who take out time from their busy schedules to answer questions and provide solutions to problems. God bless you all.
To the waddling mamas, I wish you all safest supernatural delivery.
To the ATC mamas, delay is not denial. I pray God grants your hearts desires.

@Feddy and other October Mums,God will make your deliveries uneventful in Jesus name Amen.

Birth Story

Woke up on 26th morning and saw show, I was already 39weeks and few days. Took castor oil around 1pm,after an hour, vomited and stooled once then contractions started at 20 minutes interval. Around 5pm,it was 10minutes apart, I went to hospital and was already 6cm dilated, couldn't take epidural because I was dilating so fast, around 9pm I was 10cm dilated and the pain was out of this world. I managed to push couple of times when the contraction was severe and my bundle of joy came out weighing 8pounds.i had an episiotomy because of the size of the baby but healing gradually.

God bless we Mothers.

GOODEVENING mummies. Plz what is ur take on the question on blood supplement I posted earlier today

Cc dunasy

First of all congratulations. Wish you a drama free pregnancy.

I would think if anything it might be the injections which you were ( i am assuming you had started taking the injections) taking prior to getting pregnant. rather than blood supplements which is probably just vitamins. If you did take the injections,......

Firstly i dont know what type of fertility treatment you were having, but with the sounds of it appears you were gearing towards ivf.

Bear in mind that the injections are a hormonal cocktail which does mess with the rythm of your body
of which you may have had to take another type (probably progesterone) either orally or as a suppository prior to and for a good while after conception / implantation. i.e up to 12 weeks.

Your ferrility doctor should have explained this to you:

Basically your body is fooled into going into ovulation overdrive, you are then monitored closely ( scans and bloodwork every few days) to ensure your ovaries are not overstimulated and then a final injection is given to ripen the eggs and then they are collected ( usually within 24hrs after the release injection ) before they can be released naturally and you wnding up having octoplets!

You are also given another drug ( probably progesterone) to then fool your body into thinking that you are pregnant and prevent the womb lining from shedding so that the fertilised embryo can have something to implant to. This is because your ovaries which usually produces progesterone in the first few weeks of pregnancy have had quite a beating from the initial injections and have not recovered to their normal function.

You are likely to continue with progesterone till 12 weeks which is when your placenta should have formed and will take over the production of progesterone.

So i dont understand what your doctor/nurse combo is saying that your doctor only deals with fertility and not pregnancy! ,

With fertility treatment, your fertility doctor SHOULD be the one to discharge you to a normal midwife or gynea, AFTER you are about 8 weeks at the earliest, when they confirm a viable pregnancy (i.e foetus(es) with heartbeat, and that it is not ectopic)

Bear in mind that most fetrtility doctors are fully trained and functional gyneacologists / Obstetricians BEFORE deciding to specialise in fertility treatment. So please go back to your original fertility doctor IMMEDIATELY. I suspect you may need some bloodwork done and will likely be placed on other hormonal meds if required.

Good luck
