The terorrist sympathyzer TinFoil was talking about Kenya Police air-wing division and not KDF, these are two completely different institutions where-as The police chopper was brand new when it crashed (And BTW the chopper came with its own technicians from Italy who were to service it for 3 months b4 handing over to police technicians ---it crashed b4 end of 3 months cause of 'technical' problems )... The KDF Super Puma that crashed came to service in 1977..... its has served for 40years, and they came from Royal Airforce, so they have probably be in service for longer than that.


And BTW
Kenya Army air calvary has:
39 MD 500 (500M, 500MD,500MD/TOW) utility/light attack helos in service ( this is minus two which 1 is out of service and 1 crashed)
8 Harbin Z9WE light attack/utility helicopter (this is Minus one lost in OLN in Somalia in 2011-12)

Kenya airforce has:
6 IAR 330 helos (That is Minus 3 in storage)
2 Mil Mi -17 I/E
10 SA330 Super Puma (they were 14 in 1977, the 4 others including the one that crashed the other day have either been put in storage or crashed over the course of the 40 years they have been in KAF)

That makes KDF have a total of 65 Helos, thats not 'a few' by subsaharan Africa standards, For an army of less than 30K personnel and a budget of $1.2 Billion.

There were alot of activities going but unfortunately the media or the army dint show us.. If I had my way, by now there would have been a 40min docu of hardcore stuff that went down....
A lot of exercises centered around rapid response and hostage rescue scenarios that can/has happened in Kenya... from open ground, built up areas, mud-hut villages, planes

(I tried to refine some pics, i dont know if I made it worse but thats the best quality from screen grabs from different 2-3minute news videos)
