Seeing ppl's comments here just makes me feel sick! What's wrong with us these stupid Africans Our Arts and Culture are so useless to us so much more than d imported ones we cherish nowadays... Yet ours hv been transformed into big industry abroad, which creates thousands of jobs thru museums and heritage centers.

Its very funny the way we laugh and make gest of important things like this. Many years down the line our kids may never know what a masquerade is. It baffles me why we Nigerians have started taking part in Halloween events and other alien western events and totally forget our own true genuine traditions.
I was shocked to the marrow when i saw the sheer amount of knowledge and history of african masquerades displayed in a london museum. A sense of pride filled me up initially as i could relate to most of the displayed structures. Suddenly i began to wish i was actually in a museum at home with actual africans showing equal measure of enthusiasm. Its an unfortunate situation i must say.

Masquerade research center is another way to steal the resources wey never reach becos I no know wetin dem dey research for masquerade body ooo.
