Am not a fan of Dino but he honestly has a point, two terms will not be enough to tackle all those who looted our treasury, what this government should do is recover what they can recover and put up a structure that makes it hard to loot........... Ps-The fact is there is no government official alive today that can stand in front of all the unforgiving traditional gods of Nigeria and swear that he or she did not in any way benefit 'illegally' from the national treasury, are you going to prosecute all of them? The government should simply use its powers and "collect" any monies, assets, or properties that is believed to be a product of "looting" and put it to use for the masses while the 'illegal' owners run around in court.........Its not ROCKET SCIENCE 1 Like |

Dino May be terminally ill, so he wants to return his loot and make peace with Nigerians before going to meet his maker! If not, I wonder why he is canvassing an illegality to tackle the cancer of corruption that has pushed our economy into recession!! |

GoodofNaija: You and I know this stupid Anti-Corruption crusade will have no impact. Or has it had any impact? Can you kindly mention if anyone had been put behind bars by your demi god, buhari, since he began his aimless and directionless fight against If the aim is to get stolen money back, Dino's system will work. Such money will be recovered fast and it will save Nigeria from spending heavily on fruitless fight against Instead of this useless fight, the government would put system in place to curb future corruption. |

Dino is a fool, what are this thieves taking Nigerians for, they think they can commit offence and go scort free because they are politicians, what about they common man who are in jail for years just for committing common crime. Crime is crime and any society where there is no law so they is no crime, but as long as we have law and other, every citizen must account for any crime committed, if they deserve presidential pardon so they common men in jail also desrve presidential pardon too. Is because of these rouges and bandits Nigeria is where we are today. |

Dino made absolute sense here.. .giving looters amnesty does not in any way rubbish the Anti corruption posture of the govt. .we suffers recession today partly because some looters are scared of bringing money out for fear of been chased by efcc. Cost of prosecution in terms of finances and time will be saved and the govt will be better off for it bcoz she must v realized certain amounts.. It indeed will be a victorious fight for the govt. |

DINO u said pardon lemi take u down the road. 1. A welder was jailed for twelve months for stealing a pack of maggi.. 2. A woman was almost beaten to death for stealing a carton of indomie. 3. A man was tied to a car and beaten till the skeleton in his yansh show for stealing 5naira... #it would be unfair to this people that the real culprit behind their deviant behaviours are being let scot free...this is why i say that i Nigeria if you have money u will go free, but if u r poor, u will be treated worst than a dog. |

See how we encourage impunity! The fact that you are fighting corruption does not mean that you can't focus on other pressing things. A leader of a country has to be able to wear multiple hats, that's what the presidency should be about. If you can't multi-task then stay away and let someone else do the job. Besides, the job of the president should be to surround himself with smart people that he can delegate to. Its so sad that some Nigerians don't know how to delegate authority and that's because they don't know how to surround themselves with talented and bright people in the first place. They usually surround themselves with family, friends or referrals from friends or even worse people from there tribe. How about surrounding yourself with someone who you trust for his competence? |

There is a dimension of Melaye's proposition that I agree with and recommend for immediate rebooting of the economy. This kind of 'amnesty' should be couched as a discreet pre-prosecution plea bargain applicable to ONLY those suspected to have looted PRIOR to the inception of this Buhari administration in May 2015. New school thieves like Buhari's Chief of Staff Abba Kyari who have engaged in corruption during this new administration must not be included in this arrangement. The continuous hounding of businessmen, contractors and political figures associated with the Jonathan administration has played a massive role in triggering the recession we are facing currently. Individuals who have large piles of cash in both local and foreign currencies are hoarding them (rather than ploughing them back into the economy) for fear of being harassed by the new government and its EFCC goons. This does not benefit anyone. Devising a unique arrangement where some money can be recovered from these individuals in exchange for some peace of mind would be a far better solution to our current problems than this myopic idea of selling off national assets. Let's get one thing clear. Buhari's so-called anti-corruption obsession should not be directed backwards. That's where we keep getting it wrong. Assuming that he is honest about fighting corruption and ending the old ways, he must overlook the past and focus on the golden opportunity for a new beginning. He should see old things as having passed away, and face the easier task of preventing or severely punishing new corruption under his watch. That is what Nigerians expected, not this obsession with the past that has not yielded any meaningful benefits for the economy and for the masses as a whole. 1 Like |

GoodofNaija:You don't get his message yet. He's not only asking for pardon; he's suggesting that looters be given an ultimatum to return their loots or face the long arm of the law. Smart move if you ask me. |
