classichsy: Apply 3 months before your proposed travel date. It takes a month but could go up to three months if your case officer is busy or ask for additional documents. Thou it is rare for case officers to ring you for additional documents for visitors visa that is why you must provide all the relevant documents on your initial application. Your documents speak for you. Too many documente thou might raise suspicion. |

classichsy: It will be nice to come in via conference be you student or worker. But then you need to show some proofs of having attended other conferences locally or abroad as that will help strengthen your application. If you have other visas on your passport, you dont need to worry much. Conference is considered business in australia. So you would be applying under business visa. Hope that helps. 1 Like |

Hello everyone I have been reading through this thread and I am in page 20 at the moment. I intend to read through but it's painstakingly painstaking. For those who have appreciable knowledge of Australia, please what is the best region to move to as a new migrant in terms of jobs and accommodation? I will be moving to Australia soon and I have no idea where to begin to look. I studied engineering so I'll be searching for engineering or similar jobs. I intend applying for my pr as soon as I settle in. I will really appreciate any help and advice I can get. Thanks |

4mula22: Www.seek.com.au Www.manpower.com.au There are few other job sites to help you. For now, job should be your priority instead of location. After 6month to a year of work and you like moving or have better opportunity then you go for it. 2 Likes |

veeokafor: Do not bring im seeds or fruits. All food must be professionally or commercially packaged. You must declare on your passengers card on arrival. Usually your passenger card is given to you by your airline 3-6hours before touching ground. When asked by immigration, confidently explain to them what foods you have. Blend ur egusi, ogbono and crayfish. Do not bring stocked fish unless its commercially packaged. Tell us other things yoh wish to bring in and we can advise further. 2 Likes |

veeokafor:Am very sure they will let you bring them in if you pack them very well and also declare. Non declared items carry a $240 fine. Palm oil is allowed as long as its for personal consumption. Yeah it will be very accepted. You better bring as much as you can. |

@Westafrica. I made some search and the earliest conference coming up is november ending and I'm not interested in december trip. If I apply for this conference and the documents and completed forms are sent to the embassy by next wk which is probably a month and some days before the start of the conference, will they fully process and approve the application before the start of the conference date? If it does extend more than a month to process it,will they still likely approve it even if its just few days to the conference or when the conference has started? I wait for your reply and I apologize for the kweshun in pieces. I'm just trying to weigh up the best option with your experience.Thank you in advance. WestAfrican: |

classichsy: Dont be in a hurry. Take your time and search for a conference related to your field. Gather all your supporting documents, package yourself nicely. They embassy need upto three months to process your visa. Dont give them the chance to find a reason for denial. There is no shortcut to a near place. If you are so much in a haste you can give it a shot, its all your choice and your luck. 1 Like |

bellong:Bro you can carry palm oil. My friends and I have done it several times. Put it in your luggage bag and you will be safe. You will have problems only when you have it in your hand luggage. No liquid is allow with you in the plane but very fine if you have it checked-in. |
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by classichsy(m): 9:34am On Oct 04, 2016 |
Of course you can do it all by yourself. You will submit your passport data page of course, statment of acct. transcripts and certificates. police certificate, yellow fever. All must be duly certified by high court. You pay the visa fee and do your biometric. Check the school website for further required documents and then you check border.gov.au for more information. ChosenCanadian:Pay for your semester fee as well as OSHC as stated on your offer letter in order to get eCOE. Documents required are certified copy of eCOE, B.sc cert, passport data page, test of English, yellow card, transcripts etc You open an immi account, upload your docs & pay for the visa fee using a dollar master card budget 180k for that due to the current exchange rate, proceed to teleperformance (with #7,430 present charges) for your biometrics. If the docs you upload ain't sufficient, you will be contacted for additional docs. |

WestAfrican:You and your friends have been lucky on several occasions. It is generally not allowed because if it spills, it can affect other passengers' luggage thereby subjecting the airline to lawsuits. |
