I will not deny that there is a sense of distrust, bordering on hatred between many Igbos and Yorubas. Personally, I have nothing against the vast majority of Yoruba people and, while I believe that the Igbos are amazing, I still believe that the Yorubas are a great people in their own right. They have no reason to be jealous of us and they can survive, and maybe even thrive, on their own. This is why I just cannot understand why so many, although still a minority, of the Yorubas defend the unity of Nigeria with such ferocity.
