I used the word help. We can not depend on Fernandinho the whole season. We need more.

The first person I feel we must sign is Dahoud. He is a natural marathon runner. His coach tries to reduce his running on the pitch. Fernandinho will not last long because of his age and Dahoud will need another runner to help him.

Man City will buy more and promote more. Gundogan can also help in the deep role. I feel one or two is not enough. That is why Chidi is important to the team.

The only player i see capable of KDB's role is Yaya. He and Pep need to get over their egos if not it will be like last year when he got injured.

Well, i wish Chidi well but I dnt see him breaking into the City's squad. Atleast not any time soon.

Yaya can not help at all. The problem is not KDB. The media had that wrong. The problem came from Wanyama over running the midfield and that gave room for the Tottenham forward and attack midfield players to press at will.

Yaya Toure is poor defending he would not have kept up with the running. When Iheanacho, Sane (Both U21) and Gundogan came in, they brought in more fluid play because of their work rate.

Fernandinho was tired, so was Fernando. The exhaustion from the running of the Celtic game took a toll on them.

With more runners (defensive), we can rotate and remain fresh.

For now, there is a big space with an aging Fernandinho and Fernando not keeping up with the pace. Shocking but the City pivot role is open for a young prolific player.

If City beats Liverpool to Dahoud, Chidi can still get his chance from rotation. The space is there for Chidi. I hope they can sort his work permit issue.

Kanu Nwankwo remains Nigeria's greatest football export. You can take that to the bank.

Bank just rejected Kanu Nwankwo, they asked for the greatest and I have no but to give them RASHIDI YEKINI the king of Nigerian football.

Tell us what he achieved for Nigeria. grin Don't mention tata competitions oo. grin

Meanwhile, for current news that people should give a shiiit about, there was a 7-aside today at training camp, Obaje scored a brace and Kelechi got a hat-trick

Hopefully, they can take such blistering form to Zambia and notch in some goals. The more the better so that some people will stop wanking over Yekini and his not-so-awesome record

I once met an Argentine in Calgary. Immediately i introduced my self as a Nigeria he just mentioned "Okocha!". Next thing he started discussing how much he admires Okocha's skills.

Kanu and Okocha remain our two greatest legends.

In terms of popularity, no doubt..

Red Hot Iheanacho Outshine Obaje’s Brace With Hattrick In Super Eagles In 7 A-Side Training Game

Manchester City Kelechi Iheanacho and top scorer of the recently concluded Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Godwin Obaje were the top men in the evening training session of the Super Eagles.

The training which was open to the general public started with the players taking part in a two against five session, meant to test the defenders alertness when a counter attack is launched against Nigeria.

In the drill, the duo of Omeruo and Ekong distinguished themselves with pace and smart movement to thwart the attackers who were up against them.

Rohr later divided the team into two groups for a seven a side game, which saw lot of goals but the duo of Iheanacho and Obaje showed their goal scoring form for their clubside is no fluke.

Chisom Egbuchulam also followed up his hattrick for Enugu Rangers on Sunday with a goal in the seven aside game but his partner Obaje scored twice, also proving his top scorer award in the league was well earned.

However Iheanacho outshined the duo with a hattrick in the game that ended 5-3 in favour of his side by our count. Aside his goal he caused Jamiu Alimi and Uche Agbo all sort of problems with his movements, skills and hold up play.

90 goals in 114 games is awesome on whatever planet. Yekini is still the record scorer.

Kelechi is doing a great job of taking over the mantle. Long may it continue.

Man city lacked cutting edge and Yaya can provide that. Just like David Silva has stepped up defensively Yaya can too. KDB can create out of nothing just like his first goal against man u, great header from Iheanacho but other players won't see that opportunity. Yaya can provide the same way like his shot off Iheanacho's back or the slobber knocker against the gunners. Name another midfielder that can provide what Yaya and KDB can?

Yaya is old and way past his prime, I don't know if you saw him last season towards the end, but each game, he looked more and more like a chicken gasping for breath than a player with cutting edge.

So, I strongky disagree that Yaya can help Coty, in this modern day of pacy players, last thing anyone needs is a slow CMF, dragging his heavy body across the field

not true, Yakubu played about the same number of games with less goals. Martins did not even come close. No one was prolific enough to match him. Kelechi has started well.

The record has lasted that long for a reason.

At the end of last year only a few of city's players were performing, Sterling wasn't half the man he is now. Lets get this clear Yaya's standard dropped last year but he wasn't half as bad as Rooney.

ZAMBIA LOSES KEY PLAYER AHEAD WORLD
CUP 2018 QUALIFIERS CLASH AGAINST
NIGERIA

Zambia will be without one of their key players
when they take on Nigeria on Sunday in a World
Cup 2018 qualifiers tie at the Levy Mwanawasa
Stadium in Ndola.

They were forced into reshuffling their squad for
the game after injury ruled out Kaizer Chief
talismanic forward Lewis Macha for the tie against
Nigeria.

Macha suffered an injury last month but Zambia
were hoping he will recover on time to play in the
game against Nigeria, but medical checks
revealed he won’t be fit for the tie.

He has been replaced by Hapoel Ra’anana of
Israel winger Rodgers Kola while another Misheck
Chiala was also recalled two days after he was
released alongside ten other players.

However Chiala will be on standby owing to the
injury picked up by Clatous Chama while playing
in a league game for Zesco United against
Konkola Blades.

NEWCASTLE UNITED SCOUTS SUBMIT
DOSSIER ON HIGHLY RATED NIGERIAN TEEN
MIDFIELDER/DEFENDER NDIDI

According to online reports monitored by
Owngoalnigeria.com editorial staff Nigeria
international defender Wilfred Ndidi was one of
the players scout of Newcastle United watched in
Thursday Europa League clash between Genk and
Sassuolo.

Ndidi who plays for Genk is traditionally a centre
defender but he improved in leaps and bounds
last season when he was moved to the defensive
midfield role.

Since then he has played both role admirably well
for Genk, and the 19 year old has been roundly
scouted by top teams, including Hamburg who
reportedly failed with a bid for him in the
summmer.

Newcastle United interest in the Super Eagle
who has 4 caps for Nigeria and 4 goals for Genk in
67 games in his less than two years stay with the
club is reportedly worth £5m.

Last season his goal against champions Club
Brugge was voted the best goal in the Belgian top
flight league.

ZAMBIANS THROW SHADE ON NIGERIANS:
YOU ARE OVER RELIANT ON KIDS (IWOBI &
IHEANACHO)

Three highly respected Zambian journalist have
taken swipe at the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of Sunday’s World Cup 2018 qualifiers clash against the Chipolopolo in Ndola.

James Lungu told Owngoalnigeria.com that
Nigeria is no longer a force to be reckoned with in global football due to the dearth of quality
footballers in the country, unlike before.

” I heard Victor Moses is not playing, that is good news. Who do you have? Mikel? , he sits on the bench at Chelsea, the rest are average players, except Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi. You don’t win games with kids” He said.

James Kennedy also shared same opinion as his
compatriot, insisting that Zambia have got more
experience in their team than Nigeria.

” We have players with more experience than you guys. Nigerians are quick to shout Iwobi. We see them on social media. Iheanacho, they are kids, am not sure they can cope with the demands of a World Cup qualifiers. You need experience in the African terrain to do that”. He concluded.

By the time any of the kids score in Ndola, they will surely retract their foolish remarks.

Our problem was not cutting edge. After Iheanacho, Sane and Gundogan came in, we walked into the defence of Tottenham Hotspur easily and created multiple chances.

The problem was Tottenham Hotspur over ran us in the game and Yaya can not help there.
