My sister, the whole thing is tiring cos am someone who can't sleep without fan or the room being airy, but with dd have cough for almost 3wks now, DH has been strict about the no fan policy. I will beg him to reconsider it facing the wall as you suggested.
As for underdress, that one isn't possible cos DH won't have it.

Please he's on point with his weight. Abi you want a baby you can't carry? 6.6 is a good weight for that age. Most important thing is that his growth chart is steadily climbing.

Lol at the sitting thing. My baby can lift his head at three months and everybody is praising us. (You must have taken a lot of calcium etc). Traditionally, boys sit at 4 months and girls at 3 months. Oyinboally, 4 months is an assisted sitter. Why the rush self? Who sitting epp?

You can never please those who want to be displeased so get rid of all the pressure.

Babies will seat, crawl and walk when they are ready. They need to be able to control their neck and back muscles themselves to be able to sit up unaided At 4 months most babies i.e. 95% CANNOT do that WITHOUT support!
It is advised at this stage to sit them up and support their backs, head and sides with cushions and do not leave them like that for long periods or un-supervised.

6 months is the ideal time, that is also one of the reasons, weaning is also advised at 6 months as babies can control their necks and hold up their heads better at that age.

My dear leave pple and their talk. My son turned 4months two days ago and that was when i put his bum bum on d floor. A friend came visitin yesterday evenin and was like ah 4months he isnt sittin and i replied her "he ll sit at his own time" she noticed my tone and kept her mouth shut.

Just keep puttin ur baby to sit but pls watch d back not to over bend. U can also get indomie carton, sit d baby inside and stuff d front with teddy bears or small pillow. If ur baby is tall like mine tear out d leg part of d carton so d legs can stretch out well but pls dont leave ur baby unattended while doin d sittin practice

Please Able Mamas, Answer our new mum, cos I also am having same problem. Olivia has been having Serious cough (mostly at nights) and catarrh for almost 3weeks now. There is nothing I haven't used from cough syrup to vitamin C syrup to inhalation method to sugar/palm oil solution at the moment. Nothing seems to be working. It's expected that his temp will rise after immunization make sure you give pcm as stated on the instructions of the medicine! Also tepid sponge him to help bring down the temperature!

Malaria is spread by mosquito bites!

Please follow the instructions on how to give pcm. It's also normal for their temperature to rise. Mine lasted for two days before his temperature normalized.

So don't fret too much. It's just a phase. Just keep his body cool and ensure his bath water is very lukewarm.

Don't also let him cry too much. Pet and cuddle him. With time, he'll be fine.

I fear immumization pass any other thing.

Mamas that may want to do hot steaming for their kids, do it without adding anything just the hot water is okay, use bucket instead of bowl, keep the bucket on the ground and turn baby's face towards it, cover both of you with thick towel, to do this easily local sit is advised. Your baby will sweat and the mucus must come out by force, pls use your mouth to suction it out (its your baby, don't get irritated). Do this anytime he sneeze hard with mucus. After the steaming, apply mentholatum on the chest, back, feet, ribs and palm, wear chest cover cloth for him/her.

Do this morning and night, the cattarh will flee away.

Let me also add this. Please be sure you know how to suction it out with your mouth before attempting it.
Don't suction too hard else you might cause more harm than good. Just be swift and gentle.

Mamas, if you don't know how to suction, abeg use bulb syringe. Because my sis has treated babies with too much suctioning and she said over-hard sucking out of mucus can hurt them (cause bleeding inside the nostrils).

Looks like we have the same DH...lol.
Anyways I am now following the advice of My sabi Mamas and not giving her any form of medication. I trust God she will be better before the end of this week.

Also as per your lo not latching. I was once in your shoes. Its because he is already accustomed to bottle or cup nd spoon. What i did in my case was i forced her, my mum held her head while i was putting her to breast, we did that like twice and rite now am the one complaining of sucking.

About lactating I will advice you eat more after eating get a little rest then you pump tgen drink alot of water when i say alot then it means like every 20mins 1lit. I hope it helps. All the best sis

Just continue with the pcm in the recommended dose. Remove all his clothes . That is keep him naked except for his diaper. Then dab his body with lukewarm water. The temp will go down in a short while. Also check his temp at intervals. Hope you have thermometer at home? It's very important you check that constantly.
There is nothing to worry abt, it normal with 6wks immunization.

Anytime she comes close to my bre-ast, I will start telling her that she is a big girl now and big girls don't suck. It's 6days and counting now and I can proudly say we have been weaned. Before I forget, she now wakes up once and I give her water or pap depending on the level of the hunger.

About the breastmilk, please I need advice on that too. When he was born, I didn't lactate immediately. Eventually I did but he just won't latch on. I expressed both with my hand and with a manual breast pump, even at midnight like mama AlphaHandMaiden advised, the most I ever got was 90ml!
And then the breastmilk started dwindling to 10/15ml. Till I stopped all together.

Now the doctor wants to bring back the breastmilk, placed me on a med already. My question is, even if breastmilk supply comes back, how do I make DS latch? As at today, he still wouldn't latch.
How do I keep breastmilk from drying up again?

Please mothers in the house, all suggestions, ideas, advices are welcome. Thank you.

Sweethrt why did you wait for so long b4 seeking help. The same thing happened to me. My dear manual breastpump CANNOT help you, cause i tried it and my baby wouldn't latch. So why i was still training my baby to latch i was ensuring i was expressing with an ELECTRIC pump to keep my breast from drying up and expressing more milk. That first stopped her from drinking formula. Please act quick 7 weeks is alot of time lot. You will be surprised at the amount of milk you will express with an electric pump. Lastly baby may not latch cause he is not getting much, which is the work your electric pump will do for you cause breast milk production is on a demand and supply basis.

PS. manual pumps can be used by those whose breast milk flow has been established not by you who wants to start..

Omo mehn, Cerelac was beginning to be a pricey option, we have been drinking Weetabix and all was well. So I decided to try Golden Morn and she has reacted to it.
