Yea, let's talk about Noilers. It seems people are not too familiar with that specie of agric chicken in Nigeria. I have done a lot of google searches, but there is not enough data on the birds online. I got a cartoon (50 chicks) of Noilers 4 weeks ago, and my birds are doing fine. They are quiet healthy, and very active. 0 mortality so far, and I hope it stays that way. But the thing that got me confused is that they are in different colors. Dark brown, light brown, plain white, white with some black patches, charcoal black, and black and white. My neighbors felt I went and bought layers, cockerels, and broilers. I got the birds from Amo Hatchery in Awe, Oyo state...40 minutes drive from Ibadan. Please, if anyone else has raised this breed of birds before, I would love to hear from them. Thank you. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Bugatie: lol! My phone got stolen a couple of weeks ago, I would have uploaded a pic right away. But I should get a smartphone this weekend sha. Noilers are a new breed introduced to the Nigerian poultry world. They have the stamina of cockerels, and grow almost as fast as broilers do. They don't attain the weight broilers do, but definitely bigger than cockerels. And they are very resistant to disease. They reach maturity in 3-4 months. And they whine a lot when they are hungry. lol! I just added that for a little humor. 1 Like |

Re: Let's Talk About Noilers by Elbally: 9:34am On Oct 05, 2016 |
Bugatie:Noilers are a dual purpose multi coloured birds, which are reared for both meat and egg production. They are a hybrid of broiler and cockerels, they attain maturity at 13 weeks with a weight of about 2.6kg for the males and 2.2kg for the females. The females start laying at 5months, laying about 150-200 eggs IN A year. The females don't brood their eggs so if you want to hatch then you need an incubator. Noilers are the same with kuroilers or croiler. They were first breed in India by kerb farms, so they named them kuroiler derived from kerbb and broiler. So Amo farms also decide to embark on the same project under they name amo croiler. But after the success of the research they change the name to amo noilers. I am currently rearing them, mine are 9weeks old now, and they are looking quite big. They re heavy eaters just like broilers. They good thing about them is that they have the meat characteristics of broilers and the ruggedness of cockerels, plus they grow very fast, and they are scavengers, they eat what ever you feed them and they still do well. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Elbally: WHOA!!! Thanks for this information. I love them already. Mine are four weeks and two days today. If my phone was good I would have uploaded the pictures. They are so rugged, but they eat a lot. My neighbors that are rearing Cockerels are already jealous at how fast my chicks are growing. Please, can you upload the picture of yours. Thanks. I will be waiting. And please, how much do you think one will be able to sell matured Noilers in December? |
