Lagos as a former federal capital territory deserves a special status for the purpose of revenue sharing in order to manage the huge challenges that was inherited from the relocation of the country's capital. This is in line with best practises all over the world. But unfortunately, tribalism, hatred and outright jealousy will not allow the law makers take the right decision.
Is it lagos state government that is feeding lagosians? The population of the state doesn't deplete her revenue. It generates more taxes for the states. She is representing her husband not her constituency.

This Bill will be re-introduced, it will definately be on the top agenda in the next APC ational meeting. Granting lagos a special status is one of APC/Buhari campaign focal points.

Yoruba no dey make noise, they are all coming back to SW in 2018 to postrate just as they did in 2015. But this time around, they will be made to bite the dust & kiss Afonja's ass with their mouths. In the meantime, igbos in lagos will bear the brunt. They'd be made to work much more harder & pay more to their yoruba masters in lagos. No time for radarada. All hail Afonja.

Lagos as a matter of urgency ought to pay 5% of her revenue to a special account to be shared by the other states of the federation for serving as head office of major companies in nigeria.while such companies social harzard are felt elsewhere.

AreaFada below has what Oluremi Tinubu should ask for below...REP OF LAGOS.

Lagos should fight for a true federal system with Lagos as a region outside SW. Like it was in the first Republic.

Letting Buhari ride to power on SW propaganda machine does not mean the North will show gratitude and hand over anything you want from them. Seek something far more long-lasting.

Ilorin was sold to the fulani's by afonja just like Russia sold Alaska to USA back then. The fulanis did not take over kwara like u claimed. The yoruba Kingdoms was the most powerful back then before the British came. The Warriors of dan-fodio could not conquer the south west after having the south east and middle belt in the bags. Oduduwa throne is very powerful

Good then ..but what about Calabar and Lokoja which were once also capitals

Same should apply rather than this senseless rejection. Instead of the senators from these two areas to be strategic, they rather became mindless because it's tinubu yoruba or southern issue. Without the 1perxent Lagos will still tower.

Why don't you list these SPECIFIC "huge challenges that was inherited from the relocation of the country's capital." so they can be compared with the inherited ADVANTAGES of the capital city status for over eight decades?
Moreover you should factor how the capital city status of about 80 years created the BASIS for the state's capacity to have its huge IGR of almost N30 billion that no other state generates.

This didn't go down well with Senator Philip Aduda, the representative of the FCT, who violently retorted, ordering Adeyeye to withdraw his statement. Other senators from the northern part of the country stood up in support of Adeda demanding a withdrawal of statement from Adeyeye.

Your opinion does not count bro, what of Calabar? What do you have to say to the entire South South where the oil come from and yet no development from FG. Just because, Lagos was a mere country Capital therefore, 1% of our budget will be allocated to them, Mtcheewww.... This Tinubu and his wife should mind their business coz if care is not taken, what happened to Awolowo and Abiola will certainly happen to him....... All these Yolobas Neva learn from history and experince.

Best practices??

Which country has division of revenue among member states as practices not to talk of best practices?

Bonn in Germany till tomorrow has a special status due to it being d former capital of west Germany before both east and west were merged and Berlin was voted to be the capital. Bonn is one of d few cities in Germany still referred to as a federal city and dey still get special treatment for being a former federal capital.

That is how things are done in most civilised country. You don't just take away d capital from a city without granting privileges to that city. So if Lagos calabar and lokoja qualify for being past capitals, I don't see y dey can't all get it.
