Also he cannot afford to take his business elsewhere and import into naija (it will cost him millions) At the end of the day I support him though... Once again u mean we import tomato-paste? Pls who has our sci-tech ministers twitter handle? Lemme go and remind him he produced us pencil factories next year... b4 he forgets 1 Like |

the man is complaining about importation and love for foreign materials. now on the other thread majority were supporting the smuggling of rice in the country, not even legal importation. they hanged the NCS boss for daring to fight the smugglers. the same people will flood this thread condemning govt for not creating a conducive environment for indigenous companies. we don't even know what we want 2 Likes |

When this company was fighting tomato paste importers and was accusing them of wasting scarce foreign exchange ,I fully supported his argument and position. Some of the importers later accused this company of importing tomato paste from abroad and canning them in Nigeria and not that they are producing any tomato paste locally. This current development seems to suggest that this Erisco tomato company is actually importing their tomato paste from abroad. I don't see what they will be needing huge foreign exchange for, given that their major raw material is fresh tomatoes which they are expected to source locally.Dangote tomato industry has to shut down operations recently because they couldn't source for enough fresh tomatoes locally.I am puzzled. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

blueto:Don't you get it? It's not the ministers. It's the leader himself that's the problem here. Most of those ministers have agendas they are most anxious to push, but they are being held back by the president cos of vested interests. For example, if the CBN Gov wants to make dollar available for everyone but the President says No, what can Emefiele do? Nothing. Na to siddon look. IMO, I think this president is beginning to show himself as a puppet being controlled by some hidden forces |

MadamExcellency: Nice, But do u think erisco can sell @ higher costs when same commodity(imported) is in the market and being sold @ cheaper rates? Govt is killing local manufactures, how can u be preaching, "buynaijatogrownaira" how can be compeling people to come and invest here especially in the production sector, but doles our fx for others to important same commodity @ cheaper, when it is clear to u that the cost of production in naija is very high, from power to many other factors. And then u didn't lay down a strong policy on the ban of those goods that are being imported which of of the same commodity being manufactured locally. U are simply killing the local manufacturers. |

Erisco, please go, and don't threaten us. Am not surprised, he thought he could curry Buhari's favour through the wife like crooks got to Jonathan through Patience. The economic climate in Nigeria is very hard, everyone knows that, if other businesses go through the banks, some even source from black marketers, why should Erisco get special access? Already he has increased his price, to cover for the margin, not that he has increased his workers pay, now he threatens to go out and import like those he has been condemning, only in Nigeria. 1 Like |
