CHAPTER 7 A heavy dose of sex is best enjoyed without protection, but not until you're bursted by the most unwanted person to spoil the day. Margaret ignited the door opened and slowly stepped into the sitting-room unnoticed to behold her 'Traffic Light' Boyfriend and a strange lady lying half unclad on the floor with a completely emptied bottle of champaign and wine positioned at one corner. She owned a spare key to the mansion, hence, had the ability to intrude which she had just done. "Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!" Maggi started clapping her hands in a scornful way while pacing around a circle which had them covered. Jude and Elo surprisingly woke up staring with disdain and proceeded to wearing back their clothes before facing a show of shame. Margaret didn't looked too bothered that her estranged boyfriend had the guts to bring a strange lady into the house during her absence, as she had equally been on a romantic vacation with a man-friend of hers. But what struck her attention was the fact that she could easily identify Elo not only as a Television Reporter, but also as one of the Victims involved in the Bank Robbery which they carried out. Perhaps, she wasn't so strange anymore, after she was broadcasted on television as the only victim survivor that survived that attack. Margaret instantly knew that something fishy was cooking in the kitchen, but then, there was barely time for mind games, then she dashed out of the house almost immediately and into thin air she went; without saying a single word. Jude then turned to Elo and gave her a look of "Yeah! I know I have some explanations to make" about the lady that just left the room. One hour later, Jude received an invitation from 'General' while he was still discussing with Elohor, and he knew instantly that he was already fu**ed up. The situation was becomming more messy and it appeared that he had a lot more explanations to offer. However, he decided to man up and dance to the tune of the music as he excused himself telling Elo that he wanted to attend a function but she insisted on following him which he refused. Jude left the house almost immediately and drove his Range Rover Sport while heading to the venue of St. Clement Believers' Church where a meeting between "The Twelve Disciples" was scheduled to hold. On getting to the place, Jude walked into the Church auditorium with boldness and met a full house involving members of the Gang he belonged to. Among them was his estranged girlfriend, Margaret who held an Ak-47 rifle staring at him frantically from a distance with a sudden feeling of disgust. Other members of the Gang were also furiously present in the meeting awaiting his arrival. They included Ufuoma, the second female in the building; Small, Spaco, Croucher, Lucious, Zoe, Bishop, and most importantly, The General himself. "John 10:10 ; The Devil cometh not but to steal, to kill and to destroy. It is not surprising to say that we have the Devil in our midst, and here he comes." General said and ignited the burning hatred that the rest members of the Gang had suddenly developed toward Jude who stood a little farther observing everyone of them. "When Babashanga revealed to me that Preacher was killed by a member of his own family, I immediately knew it had to be my second-in-command. But Son, after all I've done for you, why have you chosen to betray this family?" General said while holding a Bible he had collected from the alter. "I'm sorry for what happened to Preacher, his punishment was well deserved!" Jude answered. "But heaven knows that I did not betray this family. I only found love. That's what happened. He added and caught a glimpse of Margaret's countenance which proved deadly. "Love? Did I just hear you mention love? Can love give you all the wealth that you've acquired through this ministry? You amongst all people should know better that being a disciple, you don't love, especially not with an enemy!" General blasted. "Listen to yourself. Yes, you gave me wealth but destroyed my life instead. Aren't you the biggest hypocrite ever. You claim to be a prophet, yet, don't practice what you preach. What is the essence of acquiring all the Wealth, Power, and Prestige in the world if you don't show love? In the same Bible which you're holding, The ten commandments all revolved around Love, and that's our primary purpose of living. Do you even study your Bible Mr. M.O.G?" Jude asked a Rhetorical question that sent the Pastor off Balance. "I'll not have you come here to insult my personality. You have until Mid-night to get rid of that so-called new lover of yours before she drag us into the mud." General asserted. "I'd rather die than do such a thing!" Jude confidently blurted which got everyone shocked. "Then, be ready to die! Kill him and make it quick!!" General commanded. The Gang members gallantly stood up ready to administer revenge on him for going against their code of ethics and also killing one of their own. Margaret then cocked the Ak-47 rifle and aimed to pull the trigger pointing toward Jude... *TO BE CONTINUED* 2 Likes 1 Share |

CHAPTER 8 Margaret attempted to shoot her supposed boyfriend who suddenly turned an enemy, but instead, she got shot and died on the spot. The tension had drastically risen and the battle line was drawn. The rest of the Gang immediately pulled out their guns and began firing shots toward Jude who took to his heels after killing his estranged girlfriend. Eventually, Jude cheated death after escaping out from the church auditorium but not without the support of the church wooden benches which he had used as cover in order to shield himself from bullets penetrating his body. The General was very mad upon experiencing the drama that had just played before his very eyes; as he then gazed toward lifeless Margaret on the floor, and furiously ordered the Gang members to chase after Jude and bring back his body to him, either dead or alive. The squad were spontaneously gingered with a feeling of adrenaline as they made for the kill by trouping out of the auditorium simultaneously. They rushed to occupy two of their parked 'BMW' vehicles positioned at the church compound and began following Jude who had long zoomed off with his Range Rover Sport. Though, Jude was driving at top speed, but his Gang members were able to catch up with him as the Car Stering was handled by Spaco and Croucher who were their Baddest and Roughest drivers in the game. As soon as they were driving past an Estate area, Bishop, Small, and Zoe thrust out their heads from the car windows and continued shooting the Range Rover from a close range while Lucious and Ufuoma gingered them with praise until their guns were completely emptied with bullets. "Poo!!" Spaco muttered loudly with frustration and then hit his hand on the stering upon realizing that they were out of bullets. "What do we do now?" Ufuoma asked puzzled while sounding slightly above her voice. "Don't worry! I know exactly what to do." Spaco assured. He then sped rapidly and bumped into the Range Rover from behind, thereby, distracting Jude from maintaining a particular lane. His plan was to ensure that Jude loses control of the stering and probably somersault. However, Spaco had his plans poorly calculated as Jude, once again drove faster above limit while they followed suit; But then, he halted shortly, and Spaco who was accelerating at top speed could no longer control the motion and came crashing into the Range Rover Sport with full force. Spaco immediately passed away from the sudden accident that practically damaged the car beyond repair and later caught up in flames, burning them beyond recognition. He died alongside Small, Lucious and Ufuoma who were his occupants. Croucher soon drove toward the scene of the accident and met his Gang mates dead. His thinking faculty could barely reason the next course of action to follow, then he caught a glimpse of Jude sticking out his middle finger in a bid to mock him and then sped off again. The chase continued and Jude practically led them to his house whilst having a sinister plan up his sleeve. As soon as Jude reached his mansion house, he came down from his Range Rover vehicle which was also badly damaged and remotely opened his gate without closing it. Sooner had he entered his apartment than the Gang arrived; the trio stepped out of their own car and made for the boot of the vehicle where several sophisticated guns were kept. Croucher, Bishop and Zoe gallantly entered into the compound carrying assorted guns of different kind and were fully prepared to unleash their rage at any living creature that crosses their path. Meanwhile, Jude diplomatically barged into his sitting-room as though nothing had happened and met Elohor sprawled on the couch watching a Noolywood drama on Africa Magic. "Honey! Since you left the house, I've been very uncomfortable. There's something I've been meaning to tell you." Elo stood up quickly and said; while Jude acted indifferent but picked the remote instead and switched off the television. "I forbid you to speak! I know you're working with the police. Let's leave this place now, our lives are endangered." Jude blurted and started dragging Elo up toward the staircase and into his inner chamber. "Did you just say endangered?" Elo asked as fear had suddenly developed within her. "C'mon... Let's go. There's no time to waste!" Jude reiterated while raising his voice. They finally reached his inner room but the whole place was dark. Jude reached for the switch, and suddenly the room became illuminated. The room was almost empty, but had a nice furniture, together with a computer system and different monitor mounted on a desk. Jude then pressed a key on the computer and the whole monitor became live. It appeared that he had security cameras stationed at every corner of the house which reflected on the computer screen. Jude proceeded to press another key on the computer and his sitting room was immediately shown. Croucher, Bishop and Zoe were captured in the parlour carrying their guns and gazing around wondering where Jude had entered. On seeing them, Elo immediately covered her mouth in shock and prayed inwardly that the ground could just open and swallow her. "Do not panic! I have the situation under control." Jude assured her and then walked away to an extreme corner of the room where a big red button was inside an emergency glass. He impatiently broke the glass open with a pistol gun and pressed the button. Just then, a chemical induced gas started diffusing into his sitting-room from a connected channel, and - in no time, Croucher, Bishop and Zoe started gasping for breath. Their predicament lingered long enough until they couldn't battle to survive anymore and finally passed out dead. Moments later, Jude and Elo came out of the house covering a chemical protective mask, but not after Jude had chopped off Croucher's head and carried one of their gun, as himself and Elo entered his Toyota Camry car and headed back to St. Clement Believers' Church to pay 'General' a courtesy visit... *TO BE CONTINUED* 2 Likes |

CHAPTER 9 Earlier, when Jude and Elo were still locked-up inside his inner chamber, he came clean and opened-up completely telling her exactly what he does for a living and how he was able to acquire his wealth. He also let her know the relationship he shared among the three armed men inside his sitting-room who were at the verge of haunting the both of them, and why they needed to act quickly, otherwise, be doomed. Although, Elo was a secret undercover agent until her cover was recently blown, but somehow, her feelings were telling on her, as she had technically fallen in love with her subject which was against the rules of the game. On the other hand, despite being among the criminals, Jude was now playing the role of the security agents by eliminating his partners-in-crime one after the other, hence, she had less worries to ponder over. However, Jude soon noticed the fear in her eyes; he then drew her closer to himself, held her firmly and slowly planted a soft and succulent kiss on her forehead, before assuring her not to be afraid, and that everything would be all right. It wasn't long thereafter before they exited the room, but not until Jude had excused himself toward a table where he picked up a pen and piece of paper, and then scripted some wordings on it. ****************************** While driving back to the church, the road became boisterous and rough; police checkpoint were now suddenly mounted in several areas observing motorists passing by, and this wasn't unconnected to the fact that an accident occured earlier and a car involved caught up in flames while shootings were heared around the area. On seeing them, Jude became alarmed and quickly made a U-Turn to evade police search. Jude and Elo finally arrived the church premises but before they stepped down from the car, he positioned her to stay close to him, and then gave her his pistol gun, just incase, while he held the assault rifle which he had collected from Bishop and carried along the lifeless head of Croucher which was spilling blood on the floor as they walked into the church auditorium that was as silent as a graveyard. "General! Where art thou?!!" Jude shouted with anger but silence answered back. "Guess what, I've got a surprise for you!" He added and then threw Croucher's head rolling on the floor like a ball. Elohor then covered her face in disgust while seeing not only the head of a human, being hurled to the floor like nothing, but also the body of Margaret that laid lifeless too; as they walked closer to the alter. "So you're scared now? Why are you hiding? Show yourself and face me like a man!!" Jude continued bragging, raising his gun and his other hand upward while turning his back around observing where 'General' would come out from, which became a point of distraction to him. As you would know, General responded to the call and slowly sneaked out from his hiding place pointing a gun at Elohor from the back with whom he had a direct contact. The supposed pastor mercilessly aimed for the kill, but before he could pull the trigger, Jude saw his shadow and swiftly turned around forcefully pushing Elo out of reach, and suddenly, the bullet came trailing his chest, he was hit at once and fell down to the floor bleeding profusely but did not die. Elohor painfully screamed immediately she saw what had happened, and about then, a reflex action took over her, as she shot back at the pastor, but the bullet penetrated him not. General then irked a loud evil laughter and attempted to shoot her, just then, a badge of numerous armed police officers bursted the church whilst shooting the pastor endlessly. "Babashanga, Ayama'tanga!!" General repeated the incantation, continuously wailing and consulting the powers of the Voodoo priest to protect him from dying, but the shooting spree ended not, until the evil pastor finally dropped dead after the witch-doctor also died at his shrine. The leader of the police team rushed toward rescuing Elohor who was their undercover agent, as she had earlier sent them a text message without the knowledge of Jude to send a patrol team to meet them at St. Clement Believers' Church. However, she paid little attention to the police officer as she crippled rapidly toward Jude who was dying slowly on the floor. Elo held his blood-stained hand firmly and bursted into uncontrolled tears as she saw his condition. Jude was bleeding through his mouth and chest where he was shot and showed little signs of surviving. With the last strength that he had, Jude reached for his pocket and handed Elohor a piece of paper, he then smiled before giving up the ghost. Jude died protecting the one and only person he had left on earth, and whom he truly loved. In the note given to Elohor, it reads: "I love my mother till death, and I would have taken a bullet for her to still be alive today. This is my response to the question you once asked me, on whether I could die for love." Truth is, Jude already knew that he would either die that day, or become arrested and still get killed. EPILOGUE The news that the robbers who carried out the Bank attack were completely annihilated circulated across both national and international television platform, and over half the money stolen was retrieved after the Police later raided the Church and found out where the money was kept in a storehouse. The government then took possession of Jude's Multi-Million Naira mansion plus his exotic cars and sold them off to raise the other parts of the total money stolen. Elohor eventually, didn't only reported the story in the most emotional and exceptional way, but also wrote a book entitled "The Devil Has A Conscience" whose theme was drawn from Jude's biography, and the book later became a Best-seller of all time. Though, Jude became a fallen hero, but the so-called 'Twelve Disciples' later met their waterloo, and all died like animals. ************************ It cost nothing to be good and just. See no evil. Hear no evil. Do no evil. There is no reward for wickedness. 7 Likes 3 Shares |
