"I do not refer to those who align and identify with the Muslim north purely for religious and political reasons forgetting that Islam came to the south west through the Turkish traders 200 years before the 1804 jihad of Usman Dan Fodio and well before the establishment of the Fulani Caliphate.I do not refer to those who are comfortable with the fact that they are looked down upon as Yoruba Muslims by their northern counterparts and who are pleased with the fact that they are not allowed to lead any northern Muslim in prayer in the mosques."

Why should the spiritual leader of Muslims in Nigeria be the Sultan of Sokoto
(a religio-political figure with allegiance to the North)?
Religion is a potent tool that can be prostituted to enslave the mind of the people.

Do you know better than Ebola Owu himself?

If Ebola Owu stole as you stated below, please tell us why Buhari has not arrested him
Thanks.

You have a chronic comprehension problem! I stated that he "may" have stolen some money for himself! Understood?

That said, just look at the meagre money OBJ met in the reserves? 3.5bil reserves was left for him yet he was able to leave a lot more than that and also, got our debt reduced to the minimum level before he left..

I don't believe Buhari met 30bil in the reserves because I don't think OBj woulda known the amount of reserves left for Buhari and even though he did, the debt incured by Jonathan was just too much before he left. This was the same man who had to borrow in order to pay the states allocation in his last months as a president. So, what are we taking about?

Op, are you sure this epistle was penned by FFK?

#2. I would have taken FFK serious if he had written this epistle about Yoruba realignment seriously before or during GEJ administration. GEJ lost an election and he has not stopped crying blue mother ever since. If Jonathan had done well, we wouldn't even consider voting for an illiterate, no nothing, bigoted, self centered, and inept of a president called Buhari.

OBJ archived 10 times of what that failure, Jonathan ever achieved!

Did you know the amount of debt we incured before Obj became president? Did you know the amount of money that were stolen by abacha during his reign before Obj took over?

Yet we had as much reserves as possible at the time OBj left. He brought in several foreign investments, lobbied with many international countries/bodies that we owed debt and got our debt lessened as a result. He virtually reduced our debt to the minimum zero and increased our reserves only for Jonathan and his cronies to come in and started spending like it was their papa money.

Obj may have stolen some money for himself but he never allowed any stupid associate of his, to dip his stupid hand into the money bag with him unlike that eediot, Jonathan did. Every subordinate of Obj feared him like he was god and couldn't even try any trash with him unlike that eediot.

Jonathan is mostly at fault for the recession we're facing right now even though, the dullard Buhari is also culpable for his lack of initiative to make things better. Both of them are like figure heads with nothing upstairs!

You sound too frustrated to me... who's your father? I wanna know his achievements before I know who's the ediot as you said severally here between you, your family and Jonathan...

They belong to the Chad, Niger, Sudan and all them arab countries in the up North. FFK is worthy of listening to.

Change must begin with the Govt not us. I voted for Buhari,i won't deny it. Buhari has beginning to follow the attitude of the previous presidents. He is becoming the President of North. Up till now Buhari has not been able to deal with fulani herdmen over the killings of the innocent souls. I dislike him for that.

Fani Kayode you never loved this country, what you always preach is about ethnic prejudice, hatred, religious intolerance, why we must divide etc.But do you know that; California is the 6th largest economy in the world. It's economy is larger than that of France or Brazil. The little problem is that California is not a country. It is a State in the United States of America. It has little offshore oil, yet its economy is larger than States in the US that are famous for their oil reserves, like Texas. California generates much of its revenue from non-oil products. It found a way to absorb and domesticate much of the intellectual output from its premier university, Stanford University, into saleable products within its economy.

As a matter of fact, much of California's economy is built around Stanford University. So with this, Silicon valley developed. I'm sure you've heard of Silicon Valley at least once in your life. Now with Silicon Valley came companies like Apple, eBay, Cisco, Lockheed, Hewlett Packard (HP), Google, Netflix, Facebook, Oracle, Tesla...and the list goes on and on ad infinitum. These are multibillion-dollar companies. The yearly budget of any one of these companies might be larger than the entire yearly budget of, say for example, Akwa Ibom State. I'm taking about companies that are richer than countries. They are all in California. But that is just in the technology industry where the technologies and inventions spewing out of Stanford are caught midair and converted to money spinning enterprises.

But there is also the entertainment industry in California. Yes, Hollywood is in California. The US movies industry contributes about $504Billion to USA's GDP. Hollywood, as you know, contributes over 70% of that figure. Most iconic movie studios are in Hollywood. As a matter of fact, the "Big Eight" consisting of 20th Century Fox, Columbia Pictures, MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer), Paramount Pictures, RKO Radio Pictures, United Artists, Universal Studios and Warner Bros are, or were, all in Hollywood. These again, are multi-billion dollar companies generating revenue for California.

Despite the above, California also thrives on agriculture. As at 2014, California had nothing less than 77,000 farms and ranches raking in about $55Billion in revenue yearly. It produces over 400 agricultural commodities, a large chunk of which it exports. It is the leader in producing exotic fruits in America. Its wine industry is unique. California wine is drunk with relish the world over. I used to drink some too.

This is just one State in America. You see, California actually had a choice of sitting back and striving to get a piece of the revenue generated from Texas' oil. It could have depended solely on Federal allocation to survive so that every month end, it will send its Commissioner of Finance to Washington DC to receive monthly allocation so that it can barely pay salaries of its workers and nothing more. Then San Francisco would resemble Ajegunle in Lagos. And there certainly would not be those beautiful sights and sounds that make California what it is today. But No, not California. Not America. California gives to the center and, because of its wealth, despises the idea of depending on it for survival. The Federal Government actually needs California to survive, not the other way round.

You see, America is structured in such a way that States must look inwards to exploit their wealth for the good of its citizens. There is no free lunch for the lazy States. There certainly is no commonwealth. But there is your wealth, if you can create it. Under American Federalism, you are the captain of your ship. But again, you are also the waves upon which the ship will sail. That is America. The local government, the government closest to the grassroot, is deliberately made the strongest level of government. Items like Variances (adaptation of state law to local conditions,) Public works (yes, public works!!), Contracts for public works, Licensing of public accommodations, Assessable improvements, Basic public services are all left for local county governments to handle. I can go on and on, despite all these and many more, Califonia and states alike never asked to disintegerate from the rest of America. Reason is that they know that their strenght lies in the unity of America as a whole and not how much revenue the gets from the center. You want to simpertise with Bayelsa state because they did not get Ambasadorial slot but in all the time even for the 16yrs your party PDP ruled, all the states never produced Ambasadors because of some diplomatic considerations. So why make it look like it all started with buhari. Amechi and River state as a whole under the leadership of your party and his brother Jonathan just because Amechi disagreed to be denied his victory at the governors forum election, yet every sensible and patriotic Nigerians preached peace because of the needed unity in this country. The Igbos you out of pretence claim that you are speaking for never said you should speak for them. After all you know how highly we regard and respect Ojukwu (Ikemba Nnewi), yet you went round last time bragging how you slept with the wife, do you know is a very big slap and disrespect to the entire Igbo race? We ignored you out of love for one country. And I think it is only appropriate and statesmanlike, if we should at all time preach love for one another and not hatred born out of political differences.

FFK is 100% right but what he's proposing is an impossible task. Yoruba Muslims will always be a stumbling block because of their affiliation with the Northers. The best thing the west should do is to first separate the wheat from the chaff and build from that
I'm a Yoruba man to the core and I'm telling you I don't know what you mean by 'Yoruba muslim' I'm a Christian from a predominantly Christian family. Ask any Yoruba person close to you, almost every Yoruba family has at least one muslim/Christian/traditionalist in their family and we get along well. My grandmother was a Muslim. My mother converted to Christianity. So I don't know what you mean by that term. And I'm not aware of any religious crises in any part of Yoruba land, so please do not say what you don't know. We live together no matter the religion.

Lol. I just want to clown around on this thread for a bit but I need answers lol.

But why they gotta do Javadon or whatever his tag is, the greatest Yoruba leader ever, and the man greater than Awolowo like this? Lol. They fvcked this guy up so bad, FFK, of all people, is the one writing sermons on his behalf lool.

The amala people got in premature owanbe frenzy, crowning someone who isn't as astute as the make-believe projected prematurely as the greatest - while dragging the greatest one's name in the mud in a disrespectful and blasphemous way - utterly shameful. And when the time came to use astuteness to win a battle within a structure you created - you were found wanting lol.

In a competitive space, you always have to be proactive and whatever first step ya opponent takes, 9 out of 10 times, always determine his next step and the end game. Buhari and the Northern oligarchs showed you their cards with their first move. The whole alignment thing should have happened after that, with emphasis on the agreed partnership and playing ya own cards to even everything. Those fools just sat there feasting on amala while getting punked. But now that they have also lost the party, they're looking for realignment - hysterical.

Clowns! Awolowo is shaking his head in his grave cos he didn't father these clowns lol.

Whynotthetruth:

1)Read again, Bible quotes are up there ...

2)You didn't vote against Jonathan because of any performance related issue but pure hatred for his person based on ethnic cum religious bias ... otherwise tell me if Obasanjo achieved one third( 1/3) of what Jonathan achieved as president in his first term; yet he was massively voted & reelected for 2nd term by Yoruba folks...

Stop turning history and known facts upside down biko
can u pls tell me wat Jonathan did dat surpass obj as president.I think bayelsa should b kindom on hearth now because Jonathan was in govt for 8years and after preside over nigeria for lik 6years.

Recolonize u say. Has there ever bin a time igbos colonize the Yorubas. igbos are d ones always blaming yorubas for their woes.. If u claim yorubas are hausa/fulani asslickers because they support Buhari govt then u must agree with me that hausa/fulani are asslickers of yorubas when Obasanjo ruled for 8yrs...
Igbo's support obj massively more than Hausa/Fulani's... I overed one Yoruba guy saying the other day that Yoruba man will succeed buhari, Yoruba's hate everything that came from the east... if Igbo's can support obj against one of their own Dr Alex why not Yoruba's atleast for once support an Igbo cause, they can't do it because they preferred licking Hausa's/Fulani's wound... the real saboteurs are westerners
