cutiereborn:I think rotating standing fan is better than putting on ceiling fan for babies. I hope you don't put him directly under the fan, even the standing fan shouldn't be too close to him. |

Onegai:Have you tried Nutribom brand of cereal? They are cheaper like 500-600 per pack for 350g and it doesn't finish fast like cerelac. They have rice, maize, oat, mixed cereal, banana and apple. I buy all plus cerelac so we don't keep repeating same taste. Dunno if the weetabix is cheaper dou. 1 Like 1 Share |

ozycy: Yes I roasted groundnut myself. I explained a few pages back on how to do that, pls check. I made use of the dry mill of my blender initially. The brand is kenwood...not all this new kenwood o, have had this since...way before wedding. My lil sis bought a new kenwood at mega plaza and it packed up in under 5 weeks! Apologies for digressing jare. The dry mill us small and was taking too much time, so I decided to use my food processor...viola! It worked better and faster! Just keep blending, stopping every 3mins or up to you, to scrape it the sides. It will go crumbly, but keep at it...after a while you won't need anyone to tell you. When smooth add your oil, honey or whatever flavour- if using. The oil makes it smoother n creamier. Enjoy! |

lioha: In my opinion, I would say puréed foods...sweet potatoes, carrots, rice, peas, cereal, et al... Just make sure it is single food, single grain - no combos yet. This is to make sure baby has no allergy or negative reaction to the food. I followed the 3 days rule in the 6th month, i.e, you give wait 3 days before introducing another food to baby, this is also cos of allergy. If you are just introducing solids to baby, Start with smooth puréed food gradually to mashed food... 2 Likes |

pheesayor: There is no set number of time for pooping. Check for the colour n consistency of poop. A normal ebfd baby's poop should be yellow and seeded watery( not diarrhoea watery), seeds are like egusi...a combo fed baby might have same but a lil thicker; a formula fed baby colour ranges from yellow to light brown with a paste-like consistency- peanut butter like. If baby's poop physical appearance is ok n baby have good number of wets too, then all is well. Baby is said to be thriving. Some babies poop after every feed. |

tchiwinnie: I don't know about already fried groundnut, but won't advise if for baby. Chickpea is seen mainly in Asian cuisine. It is high in fibre and protein. I add it to my pap cos my boy is mainly on formula n pap. I add into soups like chicken n veggies as flour. |

jamjam5000: I didn't pay, covered by Govt Insurance. In U.K. it's taxes at work, in the U.S. it's Health insurance and it is also actually sponsored by companies (I even got coupons for Enfamil formula). Which is what I wanted to replicate here: sponsorship by private individuals, churches and companies. But considering how much you pay, it's still a good thing. In Nigeria, even if you pay, you will still have to carrt every item on your list. Though I think expensive private hospitals here don't tell you to buy detergent. |

@helovesme, onegai and alphaHandmaiden It feels like I won a million dollars jackpot...my boy finished his food throughout yesterday. I made chicken n veggies puréed. He finished it- 3 heaped adult spoons o...no fuss, no singing. He was quiet and just opening his mouth so we went quiet with him and had them take his sister to another room cos her noise is something else. After the meal I gave him steamed carrot sticks as dessert- he nibbled a little n played with the remaining. For late lunch, it was semo- he didn't take. So I decided to try same combo as the brunch- he finished it again! He took same with banana pudding for supper! Do I keep giving him just this or what now oo?? Thanks so much for your assistance... 1 Like |

stadora:I am glad my post was able to help ease some of your doubts. As per the drugs, I don't know as I didn't give any to my daughter and she is fine. Also I have never heard of giving kids drug for weaning. You might want to consult your doctor before you do. I started giving my daughter ovaltine when she was 11.5months with formular milk. Now I make tea for her with Nido & ovaltine. I think after their first birthday, ovaltine is good. Please other sabi mama's, confirm for us. |

FexCathy: Can't precisely recommend any, but whichever milk you give your child should be full and not filled cream. It's not a function of price, three crown is expensive but it's filled. Blue boat relatively cheap is full. Dano has both filled and full. Loya is full, peak is full. Cowbell is filled. Filled means animal fat was taken out and replaced with vegetable fat. It's healthy for those watching their cholesterol. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

mompurity2: No vex, I had to do a lot of scrolling and I missed it a couple of times. It's good their necks are getting strong. Honestly, I would wait till 4 months or even 4 and a half months, there's no rush. Try and lie them down propped on a pillow first. I didn't check any guideline so i wouldn't keep panicking that "baby isn't sitting, isn't walking, has no teeth, didn't get elected for School President, doesn't have a boyfriend, hasn't finished learning how to colour neatly so may not get admission into an Ivy league university". So, start sitting them propped up with pillows behind them in 2 weeks' time? |
