The presidency has revealed that it is yet to be contacted via official channels over the summon issued to President Buhari by the National Assembly.

The National Assembly had on Thursday passed a motion inviting President Muhammadu Buhari to address the legislature on efforts being made by his administration on the current economic recession.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu stated that the president had not been summoned through the established channels of communication.

Mr. Shehu said: “There is a channel of communication between the Presidency and the National Assembly which we utilize. So, if they communicate to us through those channels, then the presidency will reply”.

“But as it is now, it remains a newspaper report and newspaper is not a means of communication for the presidency. When they communicate, the presidency will also communicate back”, he said.

Lol. Imagine all those criminals in the senate (past governors et all) who joined hands together to bleed us into recession surmorning the president. Intact, they should all bury their heads in shame that some of them were the masterminds behind the reckless and wayward leadership that has landed us in this mess.

Btw, they need some sense to know that you 'Invite' and not summon the president to the floor. Infact...

But as it is now, it remains a newspaper report and newspaper is not a means of communication for the presidency. look at them but its the right channel to damage people's image or bullshit trials through it. APC are playing on our intelligence.

their primary function is not to summon president, but over-sight function, if they have such power, how many times have they invited pdp president since their 16yrs of mismanagement and corruption, those legislooters should simply do their primary function which is over-sight.

Common member of the same national assembly was summoned, he refuse to show.

So na presido they want make him show abi?

Because they lack anything meaningful to contribute to the nation rhat is why they think they have time to summon PMB.

All the 1960 obsolete laws we have in the constitution, that allow a looter to be fined a max of 5000naira even if he stole 10million they will not see those

Why don't you take some seconds to read the report? The urge to pour invectives on the President has taken away your patience to read. The President didn't say he won't show up at the National Assembly. He only said the National Assembly has not officially written to him to summon him. Please, always read before you rush to comment.

The irony of a guy that's referring to someone else as a dullard. Kids like that will sign away their rights all because they are too busy, anxious or plain ignorant.

You'll be surprised to find that he actually read but failed to understand what was said.

Mr president should respect the principle of seperation of powers as enshrined in the constitution.
He should brief our duly elected representatives on what he is doing to rescue Nigeria from this recession.
We need answers.

Some people and bereft of rational thinking. Though I don't blame them but the blind hatred they have for the president.
Please read that statement before you comment.
The presidency will respond once it gets the official communication from the NASS. For now, it is just hearsay.
GEJ refused to honor such summons from the NASS severally as I vividly remember. Lets wait and see what PMB will do.
