[But before u get offer of admission to apply to social works..u need good work experience and ur cv must be related to social work field to avoid rejection from d uni Best best .... .don't know ur field of study but work on the job experience on ur cv. like u work with hiv/aids groups here in Nigeria ..Also ur statement of purpose must be interesting since ..its kind of competitive to get offer from good school to study masters of social works and when u get there..u can do age care job to get work experience to qualify u for the skillset and all....

yes. I'm buying through my uni.

Uni provide you with your first year or the length of your first visa. You care for the subsequent ones. That's if you choose to change course or renew your visa.

Hello everyone

I have been reading through this thread and I am in page 20 at the moment. I intend to read through but it's painstakingly painstaking.

For those who have appreciable knowledge of Australia, please what is the best region to move to as a new migrant in terms of jobs and accommodation? I will be moving to Australia soon and I have no idea where to begin to look. I studied engineering so I'll be searching for engineering or similar jobs. I intend applying for my pr as soon as I settle in.

I will really appreciate any help and advice I can get.

Thanks

Hello house. Please I am new to this thread and I am interested in going to Australia. I'm not sure which option would be be best either to go as a skilled worker or apply for a masters degree and follow through. Your candid advice would be helpfull.

What am about to say might not go down well with you. am also an engineer with a first degree in chemical engineering and currently doing masters here in australia. what am about saying is out of love and not as a hater. IF I WERE U I WILL COME TO OZ VIA PR (PERMANENT RESIDENCE) no need to come and waste your money especially when u plan on not being an academic. it will be better to enter and come do a six months internship to have australian work experience before starting to look for work than to come here all in an effort to get post work study after spending thousands of dollars with no access to scholarships like our brothers and sisters in the united states. if u have plenty money or on scholarship its a different case entirely. as for me i never looked at the PR critically until i was over invested in the whole student visa parade. Dont get it wrong coming to do Masters here is noble but i am asking you to do your COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS. truth is after school and ur post work study big ass employers still want u to have PR before they employ u. i have been here three months and 10 days now. in this time i have started my PR waka thanks to all the info i got from the lengends on this forum Bosslady et al. i decided to be proactive and have gone to several recruiters like chandler macloed, Hays and spoken to several other recruitment advisors in this firms. my general strategy was to inform them about my circumstance and ask them for advice on how to integrate myself into the industry after my program. BROS i cant begin to speak the english that i heard. plenty advice "Reasonable and unreasonable" the bottom line was I NEEDED PR ASAP. i have met other nigerians who came here with PR and working professional jobs with only BSC. if i get hold of that PR today all this acada will turn distant learning at my convenience or part time. MORAL OF MY STORY.... PR without work experience is better than masters without paper... so just take your time and come via PR. but if u are not patient enough you can still come ooooh its still waaaaaaay better than being in naija with all this drama and all. just be prepared to work your ass off to foot your bills if you dont have enough support from home.

God bless.

WestAfrican:

Aside of the offer letter she got before starting the job, her company has to give her a new offer letter or a letter stating she will get back her job when she completes her studies in Australia.

The immigration will be convinced she is not planning on remaining in Australia after she completes her studies.

If you are sponsoring her and claim she is your daughter you then need to show the immigration some form of relationship. Yours and her birth certificates and maybe some receipt of your paying her tuition fees when she was studying. All of your documents has to be certified.

Dear @WestAfrican: I have open communication with a relevant college in North Sydney. Please I would like to know if it will be possible for my daughter to gain an employment upon completion of her vocational training after 3 trimester?
Or, should we process her Permanent Residence first before the vocational training. Where you support this second option, how do we go about it?

It is always ideal to get a PR before studying but then again you need to meet the PR points threshold.
Solitin40 (a member of this forum) has been sharing a url for those who choose to process for PR, you may want to ask him for it.
Her course is a bit saturated in Australia. She may be able to find a job but the question is will the company be able to sponsor her for visa application? (I doubt).

I managed to get the PR link from the comment above:

You have to know that petroleum Engineering is not im the sol list, but in the csol list.. Meaning it has been removed from the main list but its still in the sponsored list. State Sponsorship takes a long time so you have to consider whether doing the masters will be worth it if you are going for pr. Take sometime to understand the PR process before embarking on a regretful journey.

Sir i doubt if the course of your daughter is in demand because it's waste of money after the diploma and not getting PR which is the main reason of the journey but why can't she try Accounting and Hospitality which are in demand esp the hotel management, that will ease her PR route

Thanks for your input, may God blessed you. Are you staying in Nigeria or Australia.

Now, 1) what shall we do if we decide to choose the route of Hotel Management with the hindsight that she is a School Cert holder on a low score.
2) What of Social Work? What does it entails and how is it relevant to PR for her

If you re going to study, its good, but set aside about $5k which is around the amount you will need for the PR application plus other contingencies that may occur.

For the assessment, you have to download and study the msa booklet from the EA's website. Truth is all you need to know is already there. You can go online to search for sample cdr's plus other detailed cdr explanations.

Age won't b a factor as long as u have been engage over time ...beside once u write good statement of purpose
For visa processing it's beta ur sponsor bares his surname d money can b transfered to ur parents or bros account.
No interview is required cuz it's an e visa
