The craze to make Owerri the safest, serene and secure capital city in Nigeria has been intensified by the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Owelle (Dr.) Rochas Anayo Ethelbert Okorocha.

The city is aglow with LED solar powered street lights bringing sparkling illuminations and shining ambience at night,hence the realization of "Urban Renewal Programme" of the Rescue Mission Government.

It is the same CRAZE since 2013 to make Okigwe and Orlu return to pre-civil war village status by this govt. Okorocha does not remember anymore that places exist in Imo state outside Owerri.


When Imo state was created in 1976, there were little or no differences in level of urbanization between the three towns - Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe.
In a recent video, Okorocha called Orlu and Okigwe rural areas.

Okorocha is a fat ugly incompetent failure that has sent Imo state backward into the abyss. Owerri is a complete slum filled with bad roads and filth.! You are just here trying to feel good but reality on ground proves everything bad and hopeless about your useless state..LOL

A person asked for votes in 2011 to be Imo governor, with a promise that he would make seat of government in Imo state rotate from one zone to the other, people believed him, voted for him;

that person has ended up not only restricting the seat of government only in one place but has used nearly all the federal allocations coming for the 27 local govt areas and the state in five years to build his fancy projects the state capital zone - a few roads outside the state capital.

It is sinful for a state governor to be obsessed with the state capita as he abandons rest of his state.

Majority don't hate Okorocha. Even Owerri people that are at loggerheads with him at the moment still prefer him to other politicians around. What we have in Imo is propaganda borne out of jealousy. Okorocha demolished houses and embarked on expansion and beautification of old Owerri area but opposition seized it as an opportunity to mislead the naive using propaganda.

Okorocha collects revenues meant for development of 27 lgas and uses the revenues only for the three lgas of Owerri Municipality, while the rest of Imo state decays from lack of modernity;
therefore, if Okorocha does not remove Owerri traditional market, Owerri people may like Okorocha to continue even for Third Term, or through Okorocha proxy after 2019;

but Orlu groups must stop Okorocha politics in 2019. 2015 Orlu people thought Okorocha would change and understand that Orlu needs infrastructure, complete the roads he scrapped here, gave him a second chance, but he refused to change.
