AfroKnight:The backwardness and discrimination against women in Iboland is so amazing. One Ibo man who has only one child and the child is a girl told me that when he dies, his daughter cannot even inherit any of his property. It is so sad. To say the Yorubas are very advanced in all aspects of life, is an understatement. Since time immemorial, properties are divided EQUALLY among all children of the deceased, irrespective of gender or age in Yoruba land. Education is also a right for All children in Yoruba land. Am proudly Yoruba. 6 Likes 1 Share |

OILSOUP:I have always told people that the best form of inheritance is such that for every onething the female child inherits, the male child has double and for every one thing the male child inherits, the female child has half, that is justice. The male child has more responsibity than the female child whose responsibility has to be taken care of by her husband. The irony of it is that the people who have mostly accused of having cavemen mentality are Igbos. Thank God for technology, I never suspected that their system is worst. Imagine in 2016, they are still debating on whether a female child can inherit her parents 1 Like |

entrepreneurmic: I've read the bible twice. I've read other religious books. My arguments and stands are not based on speculations. I'm widely read, bro. The bible is a copy of Mesopotamian and Egyptian religious beliefs/books. Most of the predictions of the bible has happened hundreds of years ago. The beast and his 666 mark is no one than the Roman Emperor Nero. There's nothing special about the bible and if there's any then it's the recommended handbook of murderers, usurpers and land grabbers. |

I don't understand. Is it that all these flat headed akpu-eating females from the yeast are actually outcasts in their parents homes? But which freedom are they always talking about for the northern ladies when they themselves are just like slaves in their parents' homes. This is what happens when u leave the heaps of problems at ur doorstep and concentrate on the single strand on ur neighbour's window. . Well, for obvious reason, in the north (muslims), for every inheritance by a male child, the female is entitled to halve of it and that is why sometimes u will see a lady who is much richer than her husband and the beauty of this is that in most cases, the ladies are not carried away by their wealth. 2 Likes 1 Share |
