Note on the boldened.

Cabbage leaf has an enzyme that reduces the production of milk by the body. So if you are not in the process of stopping breast milk production ie weaning your child off breastfeeding, perhaps it is best to avoid the cabbage leave treatment for mastitis if you are still actively breastfeeding.

I do agree that it is used for stopping breast milk production. In this case, there is engorgement and continuous breast feeding / expressing. There is no way in the world it will stop the milk production, to the best of my knowledge. Then again, she doesn't have to use chilled cabbage, most important thing is using warm compress before/during nursing and using cold ice pack after nursing. She could use any cold pack she's more comfy with.

Milk production reduces in affected breast after mastitis...re establishment would still have to be worked on...cheers!

I will answer the ones i can
See in red below.

Zheemub:
Good evening mamas, hope your day went well?
Pls will like candid opinions on the following:
1. Like how many days will nutrboom on (350g), nutrilac (400g) and cerelac (900g) last?

it all depends on how often and how much you feed your baby. I for instance ONLY offer cereal at breakfast time with other foods given at lunch and dinner so my stash of cereals can last about a month. (I usually get a pack of baby rice , a banana cereal, a multigrain one with another flavour and one of the ones that already contain milk and they are the small carton types that are like 250g or so) i also dont use baby rice as a cereal per se... it is used as a mixer or filler for other foods. And i rottate the cereals so my dd gets a cariety of flavours.

2. Considering price, is nutribom, nutrilac worth it cuz won't I end up buying more to complement the 900g?

3. The cow and gate food jar and Heinz fruity yogurt, are they one feed or I get to keep and feed later?

It depends on how much your child eats. The guidance on the can is to discard any unfinished food if your child is eating directly from the jar. So what i do is this:
For proper food( not fruit mixed or dessert type foods) I always have a small bowl with me so i scoop some out of the freshly opened jar and pop the rest in the fridge and i use it within 3 days but i make sure that when i warm it i use a steamer and it is piping hot! Then when it cools down i feed my dd.

For fruits and the like, i also use a seperate bowl but i tend to use it by the next day.

4. Whats the difference between nutriben 4 cereals, nutriben 8 cereals and fruits and so on. Though same price and same gram (300g).

I am not certain but i suspect the 4 and 8 refers to the number of different grains that make up the cereal. Some have fruits included in it to give flavours.

Thank you for your time.
We are clocking 6months next week hence the questions.

Lord we thank you for your love, grace, mercy, kindness.

Forgive us all our shortcomings and grant us the spirit to abide in your word.

Be our shield and keep us from all evil of this life.

Our children shall continue to be a source of happiness to us.

Protect our husbands and keep them. Bless the works of their hands.

As we sleep tonight, we shall wake up into a new day.

Angels on guard, be our guide tonight. Let the Name of Jesus answer for our sake. The mighty hand of God shall rest upon us.

Thank you Jesus for answered prayer.

In Jesus Name we pray.

Amen.

@ bolded. Cereal is just a generic name for the likes of corn flakes, golden morn, celerac, etc as they are made from oats, rice, maize, wheat, milk, etc.

If you can, why not chill a bit till he's 6 months before you introduce solids ? At 6 months, babies have better head control, digestive system is more developed to process/digest solids, etc.

Personally, I wasn't in any rush to introduce solids and my son was on strictly milk for 6 whole months and I introduced fruits/cereal at the start of his 7th month.

I'm of the opinion that these babies have a lifetime ahead of eating all sorts of cereal, amala, eba, semo, etc so there's no rush. So spending 6 months strictly on milk won't hurt.

People claim that introducing solids early means a baby will not be a fussy eater. That's complete fallacy. My son eats/ drinks anything with the exception of sweet drinks - he has outrightly refused nido milk (any cow's milk), hot chocolate (milo + nido) and even Ribena.

However, if you insist on starting solids at 4 months, do bear in mind that milk should remain his main source of nutrition and go with solids that are easily digestible by babies.

thank you ma. before now,i was thinking of starting at 6months but it looks like he is hungry often now that i am now considering starting earlier.

thanks for the advice ma.i appreciate a lot.

all are good products, also, choose according to your pocket. Yes, baby can take pap alongside d one you buy, but don't allow d cereal to stay too long after opening. Don't give Golden morn yet not recommended for 6 months.
thank you mummy.

Rice, wheat, oats are different flavors, both cerelac and gerber have these flavors and more. You introduce with a single flavor, e.g. Rice, to make sure child is not allergic. Give that flavor fur three days before introducing a new one.

People usually buy different flavors so the child does not get bored with only one taste.

Apart from cerelac and gerber you may see other brands in store like nutrimom, frisobabe etc.

Always check the age to be sure it's suitable for your child. Also confirm if you need to add milk or not. My advise has finished, please ignore the next paragraphs.

Mommies why do we despise our very own garri? Is it not a cereal? yellow garri even has vitamin A. What will happen if you give garri mixed with formula to a 10 month old.

mummy tojued and talltosyne, thank you mamas.

i understand better now.

For Samsung phones I think it's menu and volume down or power button. Or better still, ask Google.

It's normal for a baby to be cranky after immunisation. He will be fine, don't worry. Just keep giving him lots of cuddles and keep trying to breastfeed him.

Has he been tested for malaria? How do you know he has malaria? If he has been tested for malaria and malaria is confirmed, then it's the doctor's responsibility to prescribe the most appropriate malaria drug for your baby based on his age, weight and how serious the malaria is.

Please let's be careful with self medication in babies. Anything outside paracetamol/ibruofen and multivitamin should be prescribed by a doctor.

He hasn't done any test, I'm just guessing.
Thanks ma

I dont think there is anything you can use, especially as he is sooo young.

If you are too worried, you could go see a dermatologist but any thing for fading spots usually contains some bleaching agents and nasties.

I would have also said essential oils but most are not advised for children under 12 and even fewer are advised for use on children under 5. Something to do with the complex chemical chains that may affect mental and physical developement.

I would just say leave it and it would fade with time. Just make sure his skin is properly moisturised. You can use some cold pressed coconut oil or shea butter to this effect.

Garri is not a cereal, it is a product of cassava which we classified as root and tubers in food processing. It's basically a starch foods and it's nt in flour form. cerals are generally rich in vitamins especially the B-vitamins.Then the red oil it contains is to prevent the effect of the toxin in garri that are not well fermented. Ijebu garri does nth contain red oil because it is properly fermented and the toxin are broken down while the remaining are destroyed during frying.

Cereal is not a generic name. It is a class of food that are purely grains. Am a food processor, we classified food of plant origin as cereals and legumes, root and tubers, fruits and vegetables, oilseed, e.t.c while that of animal origin we have milk, meat, fish, egg and poultry.
