Corruption: China MP sentenced to death ON October 9, 2016 China today demonstrated how it deals with corruption, just as Nigerians debate the crackdown on corrupt judges by the Department of State Service. China sentenced a 70-year-old former senior legislator to death for taking ‘a huge amount of bribes’ and holding excessive assets with unidentified sources, a charge similar to the allegations of the DSS against the arrested judicial officers. The legislator, identified as Bai Enpei becomes the latest official to be punished for graft under a campaign launched by President Xi Jingping. Enpei was a former senior lawmaker with China’s legislature, the National People’s Congress. He had also served as the head of the provincial committees of the ruling Communist Party of China in Qinghai and Yunnan province, respectively. As part of his punishment, he has been deprived of political rights for life and had all his personal property confiscated. Enpei has been sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve, state-run Xinhua news agency reported. Investigation of Enpei for graft began in August 2014. By January 2015, he was expelled from the Communist Party of China by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI). The CCDI investigation found that Bai took advantage of his post to seek profits for others and accepted “a huge amount in bribes.” Thousands of officials at different levels have been punished in the three year long anti-corruption campaign initiated by President Xi. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/10/corruption-china-mp-sentenced-death/ 2 Likes |

If any past president had done a quarter of what PMB is doing at fighting corruption, perhaps Nigeria will have been better. PMB is the only person with any chance of defeating the cancer of corruption in Nigeria. Wow!!! Pls were are all my "Due Process" pple, come and see how we roll in China. They deal wit Corrupt pple irrespective of their tribe/religious/position dey occupy/occupied. But in 9ja children of Hate/Wailers/Ugandans will be shouting "Witch hunt,Propaganda,Media trial,Dullard and Due process" In china pple like FFK,Fayose,Dansuki,PEJ n Co. plus those crooks in APC wud have be sent on a Journey of no return. What baffles me, is how most Nigerians derive joy in supporting corrupt pple, pple dat have led dis country to her present backward state, na wa o. Some have been shouting "No Conviction yet" and DSS has shown us d corrupt Judges behind d no conviction. Right now dey have turn to "#Due Process abi na #Rule of Law. Some say PMB is selective, how I wish IB, Mr "stealing is not corruption" had been selective, many thieves wud have been behind bars by now. God will surelly strengthen PMB to sanitize dis country. IVORY2009:First of, the judges are not of PDP or APC. Except you're insinuating they're on the payroll of PDP. And we will always disagree on your postulation. But whether selective or not, no innocent person has been accused or arrested for corruption without being a corrupt person. China is a socialist state with a pseudo-democracy. PMB should introduce a bill to amend the constitution to suit his desires. like someone pointed out, the fight against corruption, however laudable, is too skewered... It's astonishing how ignorant most Nigerians are about history, otherwise at least a few of you would have realized how terrible communist China's history has been when it comes to using false accusations of "corruption" to carry out party purges. With the massive population of flatrons on Socio media and NL who re programmed to defend every criminal in Nigeria hw can we ever hope to reach Chinese status interms of development. Nigerians will start appreciating the fight against corruption when members of PMB party are probe too, lots of petitions has been writing against couple of dem, but nothings has happened, is this fair?
