Yes... Esiti... Not much been said about him.. His introduction helped Onazi and Mikel battle the Zambians' waves of attack and pushed them back... Musa's intro also helped give the Zambians something to worry about as his pace and movements helped in pegging them back too... Rohr's substitution choices today were really good and impactful... tbaba1234: 2 Likes |

Icon4s: We have a video analyst in the team and he studies their tapes. I believe all players will get better chances now. I believe if the coach feels he needs him, he will call him. |

princesuko: Thanks. I am susceptible to players effort. Even if the players play poorly, I like that they work hard to help. If a player has a good game, I do not like cancelling his performances because of an error. I think collective hard work makes a team win. If a player makes a mistake, the hard work of others covers it. 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: Esiti looks promising. He looks like a player who can spread play with long balls. It was nice watching him. When we consider that we did not come with Raheem Lawal and John Ogu, it shows how competitive our team is. We also did not play Obaje, Egbuchulam. We still have Success, Chikatara, Fanendo Adi, Blessing Eleke. What a team. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 6:01pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
Napoleon55: The Competition is tough. I am also stuck. Is it better we adopt a midfield system like Spain. With the large number of midfielders at our disposal. Even Abdullahi, Ndidi, Awaziem can play in midfield. Agbo can play there. We still have Nwobodo. Yet we have some brilliant strikers like Success, Obaje, Eleke and many more. |

tbaba1234: I think the NFF and technical committee should hands off. Let Rohr discuss with his boys and choose his team. If Rohr invites Success and Moses V, then they play. |

Nigeria is the first country to hand Zambia defeat at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola since it was opened in June 2012. Other countries will struggle in Ndola... This is a huge win. 1 Like |

Icon4s: I have not watched much of him, so I can not tell much about him. I just hope the Video Analyst keep searching. I hope he sorts his club issues. Another player troubling me is Derik Osede. His team-mates in Spain are doing well but it seems his Fulham move slowed his career. Sad but the coach can not carry all. I applaud his looking out for Musa Mohammed but he should help more after the qualifiers. Probably checking them with friendlies. |

3 points in the bag and a heart warming victory for the eagles. I can't remember the last time the eagles started a world cup qualifier with an away win. All the components of the team came together nicely. For once, I noticed Carl Ikeme getting out of his line quickly to sweep and nullify threats. I was surprised by his agiilty and his burst of pace to do this because I never really saw him Athletic enough to win short sprints like he did today. In defence, Omeruo was very tidy today bar the error which leads to the goal. He won almost all duels he engaged with against a bigger and stronger guy like colins Mbesuma. Of all our defenders today, I believe he had the most defensive actions and came out tops. Moses Simon, for all his running and endeavour should really do alot of shooting practice. Most of his shots went straight out of the stadium. The only suspect position was the right back, manned by Ndidi. Rohr will do well not to experiment playing him at right back again. The ndidi I know, played at CB, his club converted him to a midfielder and the national team is playing him as a right back, this sort of constant change will definitely affect his game as he will be like a Jack of all trade and master of non. Shehu is a better right back by a country mile, Rohr seems not to trust him, I don't know why. Finally, from my observation, Rohr made his substitution 4mins late. I believe we would have walked away with a clean sheet had he pulled in Anderson Etisi earlier. Immediately Etisi came on, the wave of Zambian attacks stopped as Eddy Onazi played slightly further and suffocated the Zambians in their own half. He is always at his best when he does this. The partnership between Iwobi, Ideye and Iheanacho was breath taking at times.... All hands must be on deck to win the Algerians in our next game. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Napoleon55: It is sad that he was the one targeted. I agree he should speak out because he has a big role to play in thks golden team. The most important thing is for him to keep communication with his coach. If Rohr calls him, I doubt any bloody NFF man can stop the coach from playing him. |

goldfish80: Very nice points. At the bar I was, someone screamed. This Ikeme is playing like Man City keeper. I laughed. I think we have a big problem at the left back. There was too much gap there. The coach needs to sort Echiejile's positioning. Omeruo's work rate covered the gaps. As for the changes, I felt the coach wanted Iwobi and Iheanacho to learn how to cope with the running under the sun. It was obvious they needed a midfield support. When the goal entered, it was time to protect the lead. |

Napoleon55: I'm surprised u could say something like this, The Zambian team was trained and assembled on that pitch, they don't have training pitch. They played their home qualifiers and friendly matches on that pitch, they kept eating the bad food and they are used to it.. Also, Like 35% of those zambian players are playing for Zesco FC and that stadium is the official stadium for the Club. The Zambia FA willingly took the game to that bad pitch in order to dis-organize our play, they know what they were doing, their plan worked but they failed. we knw what we are saying here. 2 Likes |

If Nigeria can win all their home games, they'd qualify. Zambia is a real banana skin especially in Ndola. |

BascoVanVeli: What I can confirm of Elderson is that, my guy is fit. Boy. It is like if the guy eats Iron, morning, afternoon and night. He is really in good shape. He has stamina. We could not enjoy his offensive play because of the pitch. His positioning is his challenge and the coach needs to sort that out. |

TheGoodJoe: I Noticed that gap at the left Back too. Had Omeruo not made that error, he would have been our best defender for the game. Omeruo really worked very hard to cover for Echiejile's lapses. Also the LWF(Iwobi) should also do more to support the LB when under pressure 1 Like |
