If Ikeme could dribble comfortably with the ball, he would make an ideal Manchester City player. His long ground passes on that pitch impressed me. |

tbaba1234: Fantabulous news. I can see Rohr's grin from here. As much as I am angry with the NFF. Rohr is a brilliant choice. Nice one from the NFF, Technical Committee and the good Samaritan paying Rohr's bills. |

Icon4s: I have watched football for a while but today, Omeruo made me understand a term you use. Marshall the defence. He was every where around the defence. Even helping Ndidi. He chose to lead that defence and helped Ekong stay tidy. The error just ruined his performance but he gave Leon a big challenge for that role. I would not lie, Omeruo is now my first choice in defence. The big fear is his fitness. He is a liability when he not fit. |

TheGoodJoe: First choice, how Omeruo had a good game but he had no excuse for the error. This is Africa, bad pitches are everywhere. Ekong was very imposing in the air and made no fatal error. 1 Like |

Etebo Scores First Competitive Goal Since His Double
Brace Vs Japan At Olympics
Published: October 09, 2016
Oghenekaro Etebo opened his goalscoring account for
the 2016-2017 season as CD Feirense thrashed
Tondela 3-0 in the League Cup on Sunday afternoon.
The Nigeria international last played a competitive
game for the Portuguese Primeira Liga side on August
28 before his appearance today against Tondela at
the Estádio Marcolino de Castro (Santa Maria da
Feira).
He had returned to the treatment room after picking
up injury when he landed awkwardly during training,
and this ruled him out of the World Cup qualifier
against Zambia plus the absence of his residence
card.
In the 65th minute, Etebo, who was named in the
starting line-up, doubled CD Feirense’s lead, his first
goal in an official match since he bagged four against
Japan at the Olympic Games.

TheGoodJoe:Ikeme really surprised me with his sweeping. I know he's a god shot stopper but I didn't know he could sweep. He looks more like a fat lazy guy to be honest. Omeruo virtually covered for every one. He handled the weather challenge better than the others probably because Turkey is a "warm country"... Onazi also didn't gas out, you can connect to dots. Iwobi is a gem. A genuine world class player in the making. I don't know any midfielder within his age who finds the eye of a needle like pass Iwobi makes. He plays like a veteran. Its always a pleasure watching him play. The guy is so well coached at Arsenal, if you watch him closely, his first touch gets him away from his markers, just like Bergkamp and Pires. The boy is insanely talented 4 Likes 1 Share |

tbaba1234: Omeruo's work rate made Ekong stay tidy. Ndidi was less a liability than Echiejile when it comes to positioning. To make it easier. How many times did Ekong go to the left wing to help stop an attack? None. Omeruo went to the right side of the field a lot to stop threats. That shows his mobility. There was a time Omeruo intercepted a ball up in the midfield. The error just ruined a superb return. It was a bad bounce because of the pitch. It was costly but it does not change Omeruo's performance. Convincing. |

TheGoodJoe: Omeruo brings a lot to the defense. U saw how many stops he made. That error was as a result of the bounce of the ball on the bumpy pitch. Ekong dey learn for where Omeruo dey na. I am just curious to see how Rohr would sort out the RB problem. I think one of Omeruo or Balogun would play that RB. I prefer any of those than experimenting a "green horn". |

TheGoodJoe: Errors lose games when you are a centre back. He made the same kind of error against south Africa. It take one moment of switching off to lose a game. Ekong was by far the best CB. 1 Like |

IyanuFanoro: I say Etebo walks into the team. We need his work rate in the middle. Onazi, Mikel, Etebo combination will make a solid midfield. Iheanacho goes upfront. That finish today by Iheanacho shows he deserves to strike. |

tbaba1234: Against South Africa, Omeruo he was unfit. Ranti over powered him. Omeruo just came back from an injury and played that game. I have no doubt with a fit Omeruo, we would have qualified for the AFCON that year. |

TheGoodJoe: You can't say a person whose mistake caused a goal was better. I will take a defender with a tidy game and no errors over one tht 'owned' the game and then commits fatal errors. Give me tidy defending all day. 3 Likes |

tbaba1234: Ekong was brilliant but Omeruo led that back. You can imagine running to defend Ekong's side of the defence. Yes Omeruo takes the fall for the goal but he was a big part of the win. What about the clearance of that shot from the cross from the left? That was from an Echiejile gap. Omeruo was impressive. |

jotey: If Etebo can hit form before the Algeria game, he would be a great addition to the squad. However, i am not sure he would break into the starting line up. Reasons: 1. He has never played under Rohr and may need to be integrated with time. 2. Rohr seems to have gotten a winning frontline: ............ Ighalo Iwobi.. Iheanacho..V. Moses Etebo may be introduced if we need to switch to 4-4-2. Iheanacho joins Ighalo and Etebo plays behind the duo. This is looking good. I like the competition in the team. I am really earnerstly looking forward to our next match. |

TheGoodJoe: Wingback mistakes are not as fatal as CB and goalkeeping errors. Omeruo played well today but Ekong was better. He dealt with the aerial threats and critically made no fatal mistakes. Elderson played ok. He was not that bad. |

Although I believe Rohr set up the team to defend with Omeruo being the mobile one and Ekong the tidy one. They were both great but I give Omeruo my nod. |

tbaba1234: I disagree. Echiejile was bad. We can not continue that way. He was skinned and off position. It was Omeruo's agility that covered the gaps. |

tbaba1234: Do you know how many we would have conceded but for Omeruo's timely interceptions? Go back to the replay of that error. If you actually played football, i dnt mean PS, real football, especially on a bumpy pitch then u would understand what happened to Kenneth. |

TheGoodJoe:You forgot that it was Ekong that was at the mercy of the attack whenever Ndidi was being skinned alive. He was drifting to the RB and maintaining his side of the CB all through the second half. |

Icon4s: In Africa, that is expected. We all grew up playing on bumpy surfaces. That is why you have to be focused to react quickly. I am not saying, he played badly.. but he made a fatal error. I also remember ekong clearing a number of dangerous aerial balls especially. Even before the error, i had Ekong slightly ahead in terms of performance. |
