tbaba1234: I see it as a choice. I feel positioning is important. Kalaba also got chances from our left. It was Omeruo's agility that helped our left, not Echiejile's defending. That is why I was impressed with him. If you think back, there were times camera picked Omeruo running back to his position after intercepting. I do not want to dwell too much in this because it seems I am knocking the hero. |

IyanuFanoro: I am looking at the work rate behind the striker. Someone that will run tirelessly. Iheanacho does this but I feel Etebo will put in more work. What we will miss is the sleek and elegant way Nacho plays there. Upfront, Nacho is a genius. Although Rohr see Iheanacho as a ten. |

TheGoodJoe: Not true, omeruo was not that prominent on the left.. i remember several times iwobi backing up elderson. He was certainly back. Perhaps simon also did not do a good job of supporting ndidi. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:15pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
IyanuFanoro: Simon Moses work rate was high. He put in a lot of running. I see him making the next starting line-up. On a better pitch he would cause more problems. |

I still think Omuero was fouled on that goal. 1 Like |

tbaba1234: That was even my major critique of Iwobi. He did not track back enough. One the left, Omeruo did a lot. As I said, when Sir Icon4s talked of Marshalling the defence I did not fully understand it until today. There was no blade of grass in the defensive position Omeruo did not cover. Not just the left. At the end, it is all team work and together they played well. |

Simon moses used to play far better than what i saw today. I really don't know what happened to him. I pray he up his game. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:21pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
BascoVanVeli: It was a clear foul. You are correct. The attacker did not touch the ball when he took Omeruo down. I do not lie commenting too much about poor officiating. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 8:22pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
BascoVanVeli: He was not fouled Mbesuma was just stronger. Just watched it again. Mbesuma shielded the ball well. |

TheGoodJoe: Hell no. Simon has refused to graduate his game. He plays like Pius Ikedia and Manga Mohammed. He does not have good awareness of the positioning of his team mates. See that chance he blasted away in the first half after wringling through those 2 defenders. Rather than laying a simple pass to Ideye he blasted the ball. He makes blind runs and makes blind crosses. Did u not see how Iwobi played from the wings? Simon started today bc Success and Moses were not available. |

goldfish80: No, Ekong did the same thing he did in the olympics, who do u think was there when Ndidi was ran around? Ekong was a rock and simply our best defender today. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:25pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
Icon4s: I think Rohr is slowly building the team. He has his first picks. Makes few experiments. Like Musa Mohammed on the right and Ndidi today. He is taking his time to assess his team. Like calling Agbo this time and Awaziem before. If he makes changes, he will do it slow and steady. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 8:25pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
The more, i watch it.. the worse the mistake looks. Kenneth had a good game but that was a bad mistake. Ekong is borderline man of the match. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:28pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
Icon4s: Even Kalaba blasted away. We can critique his blasting but his work rate to fight for the ball in the midst of two Zambians. We can excuse him like Echiejile. The pitch limited their runs with ball. We can judge him on a better pitch. Even the Zambians gave wayward and crazy crosses. |

tbaba1234: In the eighteen yard box, he did not go for the ball but the player. Then he threw the player down. To me, that was a foul play. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 8:32pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe: I agree. He is building a team. We need to sort out that defense as quickly as possible and have a regular backline. Agbo and Awaziem were invited to replace injured players. Awaziem for Omeruo and Agbo for Balogun. It gave Rohr the opportunity to assess how ready Awaziem and Agbo are for senior team football. 1 Like |

collins mbesuma actually fouled omeruo inside the box but overall omeruo didnt lift up his game, let me rephrase that, omeruo has not played well for the national team beginning with the blunders against south africa in our last game of the 2015 AFCON qualifiers in Uyo where Tokelo ranti of south africa made a mince-meat of him in the defence. omeruo hasnt recovered in the national team set up till now |

mikron: I do not understand how omeruo will be rated higher than Ekong in this game. In my opinion, Mbesuma did not foul him, he shielded the ball with his body , brought it to his left leg and shot. In my opinion, Omeruo is still useful but as third choice or a right back. |
