Normally if a court judge is found wanting of any malfeasance, he would be sanctioned by the NJC after which he might be prosecuted if the need arises.

Enter the Buhari administration. From what I read on the premium Times, the DSS does not trust the NJC to properly handle this situation hence the need for the DSS to move against the judges.

Curiously the DSS after effecting these arrests does not have any power to apply any sanction to these judges. The responsibility for the trial, acquittal or conviction of these judges still rests on the judiciary. The same judiciary headed by the same people on the NJC.

Except if Buhari simply wants to embarrass these judges, I don't the need for him to run away from the NJC only to come back to the same people.

As long as the president does not have the power to directly apply sanctions on these judges, his actions will end in futility

There is UNITY IN CORRUPTION..

Governor Wike wanted to commit suicide to save Justice Liman, a Muslim, Hausa/fulani, a Northerner, Aboki and Buhari's brother. Are they not supposed to be fighting? The way Wike did to obstruct Liman's arrest, definitely he can't render such assistance to Rev. Father Mbaka...

An unusual circumstances at unsual time demands an unusual response upon unusual people. Where else do you see an agent of the law; a judge for that matter, this massively corrupt and nobody did anything about it?

We must draw a line between fighting corrupt judges and fighting the judiciary. We should know whether the issue is about procedure or the substance of the allegations against the judges.
We have to take a stand on this issue for the sake of posterity.

it turn out to be that one of the judges kidnapped wasn't part of the people dss was looking for. He has every right to file a case against dss or Buhari for putting him under psychological trauma. And DSS have to pay him N100billion . Only this mistake will finish DSS and Buhari.

Abduction ? With arrest warrant. ?
Do you think Wike will do the same as the CSO of the state if it was u that was been arrested.
Liman called Wike because both are united in corruption, Wike responded to the cry of an ally

OP you are a learner. NJC is a mere Executive Body and not a court.

Tell us how many corrupt judges NJC has prosecuted in the last 20years. Just mention 1.

DSS went after only those judges whose arrest warrant were issued.
Btw, why will they arrest Justice Abang Ekong, what is/are his offense(s) ?

So judges should be absolved of any corruption charges? That's practically what wailers are saying. NJC authorised it. Wetin cohn remain? Does the NJC have powers to imprison or persecute an erring judge? if no, then we are saying judges are above the law. If I was wrongly accused of theft because one useless collect bribe. Then i would require of the NJC to punish the judge? wink

The DSS has no right to arrest judges for corruption, it is the EFCC that will do it, any ways amaechi and his co travellers will not smell river state, get that into your thick skull.

The judges have been arrested by DSS and Wike was not able to do anything about it, talkless of you Mr. light skull
The issue is not about Amaechi vs Wike, its about Wike trying to stop the arrest of a judge that is been accused of corruption and yes DSS has every right to arrest anybody that constitutes public nuisance.
Warn Wike not to obstruct the path of justice next time, else he will be shot ! ....

Please, next time shoot him.

In fact, na beg I dey beg.

Shoot any governor that bars any state agency from carrying out their duties.

I'd like to know how long Nigeria lasts as a country after such an unforgivable error.

Kids just be yapping.

This is my first comment on this controversial issue and it will be brief.

Nigerians never learn! And that would be their greatest undoing.

The media is next. Next civil servants and private sector workers will start disappearing.

2019 will be interesting.

I'm more interested in the response from the NJC and the Supreme Court.
