Cereal is not a generic name. It is a class of food that are purely grains. Am a food processor, we classified food of plant origin as cereals and legumes, root and tubers, fruits and vegetables, oilseed, e.t.c while that of animal origin we have milk, meat, fish, egg and poultry.

Thanks for the education.

I would say rather than just using calender method why not use the billings method instead, it combines calender with monitoring your body and your vaginal discharge to know when you are most fertile and best to avoid "rough play" at that time or use condoms at that time.

Basically you start counting from the first day of your period as day 1, and continue till the start of your next period.. that should give you an idea of how long your cycle is. It can range anything between 21 to 35 days on the average. Some may be even shorter or longer, everyone is different.

Take note of how many bleed days you have.
After your period is finished, take note of the colour, texture and smell of your vaginal discharges during the entire month.

You may have a dry period where there is no noticeable discharge per se.

Somewhere along the way your discharge will become stringy, transparent or whitish like raw egg white. This is your fertile window anf usually occurs mid-cycle but not always. This occurs for about a few days to a week- basically your vaginal discharge changes consistency which aids sperm movement and longer survival. This is the period you ovulate, as the egg only survives for a day or 2. You should avoid se.x at this time to àvoid pregnancy as your chances are very high.

A couple of days after your ovulation, the discharge changes again to a more opaque white with a texture more like pap. Once this happens, it is an indication that you are now entering your "safe" period and your chances of pregnancy are low.

Usually 14 days after your ovulation, if you are not pregnant, you would have your period.

If you are using a only standard calender the assumption is your ovulation is smack bang in the middle of your cycle. So for a 28 day cycle that is on day 14.

But if you have a long cycle say 35 days, you may ovulate at day 20 or 21 as opposed to day 14.
If you have a short cycle you of say 21 days.... your ovulation may be on day 7 instead.

So you see how normal calenders can feck you up!

After a few months you willl notice a pattern and even if you dont consult your calender you can tell from your discharges when there are noticeable changes and if your cycle decides to play you a fast one.

Note: if you have a very short cycle, the end of your period may overlap with your ovulation so monitoring virginal discharges may be a bit trickier. So you may want to take extra precautions.

Also keep a note of your urges.... you may notice you are more arroused during your fertile window... yeah yeah nature sure is a bit.ch and has a way of maximising the chances of reproduction..

Also remember that no method of contraceptive is 100%.

Swim. Check on Youtube, there are lots of videos. At that age, they are still very comfortable being suspended in liquids/water. My friend used to teach a class to 4 to 6 months old babies abroad at her church. If I knew how to post video. At Ikoyi club, you can take the baby in, but they won't start swimming lessons till 12 months.

There's a mummy and me club- popp Lagos where babies are encouraged to swim from 6 months I think. Ofcourse with mummy holding LO

Coolness! Abeg where is it? Please how much is it, any idea?

Re: about the crawling, well done for her! Big milestone. But you're not allowed to panic until she poops a cockroach leg, you find her sucking on the end of your plugged-in phone charger or you see her sitting down calmly beside your broken wristwatch (with the battery not visible).

Thennnnnnn you panic about her crawling cheesy

Good morning mamas,

I went to the hospital yesterday, ran tests and I have malaria and I guess the mastitis. Was placed on 3days injection and given antibiotics, cough syrup etc.

I noticed the infected breast isn't producing much like some mama said, pls how do I make it produce o, cos it's my factory before, the other one doesn't produce much.

Thank you mamas you rock

Should we do this below? 6 week workout and then we also cut down on bread and rice and carbs (we minimise the amount we eat). I lost weight when I stopped eating 4 slices of bread almost daily. When I was gyming and still eating rice and bread anyhow, no weight left because as I was losing, it ws being replenished. But this time I'm serious.

That 7 day challenge na die oh, see the harsh list!
if someone drops all in a week it may be too hard to follow. Middle of rhe week i will just go and sit with my local mai-suya and eat till daybreak.

Why not do it one or two at a time.

For example: 30 mins exercise as a standard then add no bread or /and no soda this week and each week you build up and add another thing on the list you will avoid.

Romegiuwa and Alphahandmaiden,

y'all are lazy chickens! angry Do you see Victoria's Secret models whining?? But you want to look like them Ehhhh!!!!! Rice isn't pasta but it's a carb and I was told that when eating rice, eat like a Chinese person (chinese food eats very little rice and a lot of veggies and meats, so protein rich rather than carb heavy). Oya, let's do this! No more soda this week (I don't drink soda sef) and only 2 slices of bread a day (gulp! embarassed) then workout. Besides it's easy to give up suya: we bought some yesterday and it is now N500/stick, so I ate like it was Christmas and will henceforth avoid suya till December. Cyprigold is cyproheptadine and i'm uncomfortable with its misuse in infants. It makes the child so drowsy, lethargic and even restless. Doctors prescribe it only when there obvious poor growth and it's on short term basis. I rather prefer mild stimulants like Vit Bco or multivite.
