Jackson parked his car a few yards away from a beautiful big black

gate. Having arrived Lagos over one hour ago, he has been driving
aimlessly around the streets of Lagos to buy time and to ensure that
everywhere was dark. He couldn’t risk driving around with a wanted
criminal hiding behind the seats in his car.
“What are we doing here?” Sharon who has been the only one
chatting with Jackson since they left Ijebu Ode asked.
“We are meeting an old friend of mine.” He replied.
“Who is he?” She asked.
“A she actually.” Jackson replied with a smile.
“Can we trust her?”
Even though the questions are necessary, Jackson thought they are
becoming too much. But he is not in a position to complain. They
deserve to know every of his moves.
“She is a private detective. She can help us on this case.”
Jackson replied just in time when the gate swung open and a young
woman who couldn’t be more than thirty five walked out. Clad in a tank
top and a yoga pant, a pair of tennis trainers ardoned her legs.
Everything about her screams fitness as Sharon could make out what
looks like muscles on her arms.
“Let me go talk to her.” Jackson said alighting from the car. “If
you see anything strange, drive off.” He instructed Ojo who
immediately climbed into the driver seat.
The young woman by now was walking along the street like she wasn’t
expecting to meet Jackson when he walked up behind her.
“Hi Miss.” He greeted.
“Hello.” The young woman replied.
“Can I have a minute of your time?” Jackson asked.
“Crazy man, you haven’t changed a bit.” She replied hugging him
tightly. “I haven’t seen you in how many years?”
“Just five.” Jackson replied smiling.
“Just five….” She said emphatically. “See how you said it as
if it is five minutes.” She added. “Just five years ago when you
eloped with Michelle, breaking my heart in the process.”
Jackson smiled to cover his look of regret.
“Anyways, what do you want from me after like five years?” She asked.
“Did you hear of this guy’s case? A certain Ojo who killed Barrister Joe
Olukunle.”
“The Barrister who was killed by his driver?” she asked.
“Yes, I need your help.” Jackson replied.
“I have been out of service for a year now. I can’t help you.”
She replied.” Without battling an eye. “If you will excuse me, I need
to return to my son.”
“Wow! You have a son?” Jackson asked.
“Wow, yes! I have a son. Were you expecting me to remain sad
after you left me and not get married?”
“Of course not. I’m happy for you. I really am.” Jackson replied.
“Good to hear. Can I leave now?
“Can I at least say hi to your kid and your husband?” Jackson asked.
“And what would I tell him? Hi, meet your supposed father, the
man I was supposed to get married to.”
“Come on, I am just an old friend.”
Together, the two of them walked back into the compound.
“This is a great edifice. You must have done well for yourself.”
Jackson remarked after seeing the beauty of the compound and the
mansion in it as well as the cars parked inside the compound.
“I did get married, but my husband and I are divorced. I got
half of his properties including this house that we are in. And that’s
it.” She explained.
“Why have you been out of service?”
“The reason I am divorced. My husband was attacked because of
some case I handled back then. I wasn’t willing to drop the case and
my marriage suffered for it.” She explained. “But I was forced out of
work because I needed to look after my son.” She added.
“I will just take my leave.” Jackson announced. “Enjoy life with
your son.” With this, he made to turn back.
“You need my help, don’t you?” She asked. “You won most of the
cases I cracked back in the days. It’ll be an honor working with you
again.”
Jackson smiled as he dialled a number on his phone. “Sharon, you can drive in.” He said into the receiver.
“Tell your gateman to open
the gate for my car.”
Ojo drove into the compound and immediately, Sharon alighted.
“Sharon, meet my friend, Eve, she is a detective. A badass
detective.” Jackson said.
“Good evening.” Sharon greeted.
“No, this is not happening.” Eve whispered to herself as her
attention was on the advancing Ojo. “You brought a criminal into my
house. Not just a criminal, but one who evaded justice.”
“Stand where you are young man.” She said to Ojo who stopped
in his tracks immediately.
“I can explain Eve. He is innicent.” Jackson stepped in.
“Every criminal is innocent until proven guilty.” She has said
before she realized what she got herself into.
“Exactly. He has not been proven guilty. And I need your help.”
Jackson replied.
Eve thought about it for a while. “Come with me.” She said.

SAN o SAN. He only tasted his own drink but decided to displace his anger on a greedy beast in a female skin. Somehow I do not pity Michelle but the innocent husband dragged into the whole thing making him like herself.
