You can back up ur device if u want with apps like titanium backup....rooting ur phone automatically doesn't speed up ur device, rooting gives u access to stop, disable some of the system apps or bloatware that might be slowing down your device

Labia am using OPSSON D1 andriod, Am a novice, I wanted to try out your procedure, but that chance of Xposed installer bricking my phone is scaring me, my Android platform is 4.4.2

Fear not brother, you won't brick your device..its more safer installing xposed installer on KitKat devices I.e android 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 than on lollipop devices. Just head to Google and download xposed installer v2.4, make sure u have root before installing
Waiting for your feedback

I'm using android lollipop 5.0, had issues installing the xposed installer, so I had to flash the xposed installer in TWRP mode, and it shows me "xposed framework version 74 is active" does it mean I'm good to go? Or it didn't work?

Well... Im using an LG G2, and my Lollipop RoM is custom. If you've rooted ur phone, then look for a suitable Recovery"to flash.
What kind of phone do u make use of?

Lol, e no go brick your phone bro
Bro I've done all of what u said on a lollipop 5.1 MTK phone (Innjoo Max 2 Plus) that was supposed to have a good battery of 4600mAh but it's obviously a lie, the battery in reality isn't more than 2500mAh.I notice this saves my battery only when I'm on standby, as in when I'm not using the phone, but when I'm actively using the phone on 3g, the battery discharges quite fast.
