BascoVanVeli: We were discussing Nwobodo as a product of the NPFL. The discussion here is the strenght of the league. U asked me why players from the Brazilian league are better right? Quality of players from a league is a function of the quality of the league. The English league is of a higher quality than the Belgian league for instance but the Belgian national team is better than the English national team. A good number of the Belgian players play in the EPL. Talking about moves, there are players that moved to those countries you mentioned that still made bad moves. |

forgiveness: While i may see reasons with you concerning Musa Mohammed, i would want to defend Shehu's inclusion in the team. See, there are certain players when u have them in ur team it is like as if you have 2 or 3 players embedded in one. Shehu Abdulahi is one of such. U know the utility player thing. Ndidi is also another. These are players that can be used in more than one position. Shehu can play RB can Raheem play RB? What Raheem can offer we have in Mikel and Onazi already. Mikel is the father of utility in that team as he can play DMF, CMF and AM. Utility players would always get callup no matter which coach is in charge. Notice that Shehu played under Keshi, Oliseh, Siasia and now Rohr. Mikel has played under Eguavoen, Amodu, Siasia twice, Keshi, Oliseh and now Rohr. So just leave Shehu for us he is a valuable utility player. You remember "Chindo"! Garba Lawal? Not so skillfull, no fansiful footwork, did nt play in the greatest leagues in Europe but was abt the most capped player of his time. 1 Like |

i don't think ighalo is a sure starter. for now he's not prolific in front of goal. ideye might not be any better but at least he provides assists and his movement gives opportunities for other players to strike. scoring that is supposed to be ighalo's strong point he can't do. giving assists he can't do. i know you may mention his hold up play but who has his hold up play been 'epping'? from egypt both legs, to tanzania etc na so so blanks odion just dey fire upandan Icon4s: |

chrisooblog: Jude Odion Ighalo is our first choice CF. But for his father's death he would have started in Ideye's position is it not? Ighalo is in Rohr's best 11 @ least for now. 3 Likes 1 Share |

wow musa mohammed was in nigeria all that time? not good enough. as for shehu i think it's his agent that seriously messed up. he's not world class but his abilities could have landed him a decent club in turkey, russia or even belgium. definitely not cyprus! forgiveness: |

Icon4s: what brought that up was u saying South Africa should be a top country and that is wrong. U can have good facilities and still be poor. Countries like Qatar and China have good facilities but they still show no improvements. U basically made my point Belgium uses players mostly playing outside their country, they had a fullback from the mls at the last euro's. U cannot use a national team to judge a league. There are other factors that can make it easier or tougher on the players. Can Real Madrid travel by bus from Uyo to Kano and then win their match? 2 Likes |

Iwobi can keep his Nigerians at arsenal but Iheanacho has to get in the ears of that Tosin boy on his team. The boy is good enough for city he just plays behind some big time defenders. 1 Like |

Icon4s: I believe that Ighalo's first choice role is shaky. I do not think, he is among those guaranteed a starting shirt. His barren spell is doing him no favors. |

Any CF not scoring for us in say 3 matches is mediocre. Ighalo presence in our NT holds no threat. Even Gbolahan Salami holds a greater threat as a striker over Ighalo in the NT. believe it or not . |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by safarigirl(f): 5:38pm On Oct 11, 2016 |
tbaba1234:exactly. You should have read the way British Press mauled him after Watford's last game, one said point blank that he was a waste of space and Success should always start ahead of him. Some said Watford should have sold him to that Saudi club last season. Let's be real, Ighalo is far from first XI material in current form. Not everybody can be Mikel. 1 Like |

Personally, i think Nwobodo's undoing is his playing in the Npfl. if he had gone abroad, i am very sure he will be playing mikel's role while mikel will be playing onazi's role in the super eagles. He is most suited for that role. In Nigeria, we hold high regard for foreign base players. Nwobodo is too good not to be in the super eagles if iwobi & iheanacho can be there. My passion for him is higher than watching iwobi or iheanacho play. He is a midfield meastro. A delight in his art. His mistakes on the ball are very little. And i believe this is his generation. |

Coach Rohr is making me fall in love with him. IT seems he's playing some mind games. Coming out to say 11points(3wins, 2Draws and 1loss) will be enough to see Nigeria through to d Mundial after 1away win will kinda give other coaches some sort of insinuation that maybe he'll be coming out against them for a draw atmost whereas Reverse will be d case. on another wavelenghth, why haven't we be making full use of this international breaks? Atleast friendly matches could be organised alongside d qualifiers so has to improve d team chemistry. 1 Like |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by AIG07: 7:21pm On Oct 11, 2016 |
zoboizee: for now I'll like Nwobodo to concentrate more on his club career and wait till next year before been called up... Reason been that he might not get to play considering d already established players in his position(get me right, I'm not saying he is not good enough) but no coach will like to experiment in a competitive game of such a magnitude and been in d squad n not playing may not be good for him-remember Adi(he was called but never given a chance to show what he can bring to the table) . So a friendly match will be good for him. *NO DOUBT HE IS A WONDER KID THAT CAN WONDER GOALS* so sooner or later he'll get his chance. |

safarigirl: When i said earlier this year that Odion Ighalo was a flash in the pan player just like Emenike, most peeps here wanted my head. Odion Ighalo is average, Brown Ideye is not any better. I have been saying it. However, in the absence of any other serious CF Ighalo has in last 7-8 games been the first choice. HE REMAINS THE FIRST CHOICE TO START AGAINST ALGERIA. However, things may change at Watford and Success may leap frog over Ighalo and this can boost Success's chances of finally being our goals poucher(what we have earnestly been yearning for) As for those calling for Gbolahan Salami, pls this team is forward ever and backward never. 2 Likes |

zoboizee: Whenever I watch Nwobodo play, it strengthens my opinion that life is unfair. Had it been that guy was born abroad, he would have been totally out of Nigeria's reach. You can't have such a talent and just ignore it because he plays in the NPFL. Imagine if he was at Sao Paolo, Real Madrid and Barcelona would have been paying illicit money as inducement to his club president to sign him up. Nwobodo is the real deal, am sticking my head out for him. 2 Likes |

Wait, Rohr has spoken like 4 times in 2 weeks and it's asif I now see this old man's talk. All his talks are mind games!!!! why say the num of points you want from a WCQ group for that matter? Why do makeshifts? Why did he smile and tap Moses Simon when they came in contact during the Zambia game instead of reprove him for wasteful chances? This man is turning the hornet's nest in a humorous way. he can't be that stupid. I refuse to join those that believe there's no angle to every word he says. 1 Like |

AIG07:This is exactly what am advocating. He should be tried out in a friendly game. Sometimes, we just have to build our own up so he can attract the attention of those big and shinny clubs we all adore. The Brazilian press have mastered this trick over a long time. It will do us no harm to boost his profile by capping him in a friendly. His talent deserves to be at least within the fringes of the Nigerian national team. 1 Like |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 7:56pm On Oct 11, 2016 |
goldfish80: Nigerian league is not even the strongest in Africa. Not every player that has shined in Nigeria has become a success. Let Nwobodo face tougher challenges abroad then we can really guage him. Mind you, Nwakali is carrying his team in Norway by himself. He is already their best player. Same with Theophilus Solomon in Croatia. Even though, these players are shining, we recognise that they are in lesser leagues. Wait till they prove themselves at a higher level. 2 Likes |
