tbaba1234: Different coaches with different philosophies. The coach we have now believes in " big experience players for the big games". Based on this we know what to expect. I think Rohr is my kind of coach |

He also came in and played Right back against Burkina faso in our opening game at the Afcon after Ambrose's red card. He also played right back a couple of times at Ado den haag of Holland. tbaba1234: 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: It is no luck. When it comes to marking and stopping capabilities Omeruo is one of the bests we have seen in the green and white jerseys in recent years. Had Balogun been fit Rohr would probably had started Omeruo at RB instead of Ndidi. The reasons he gave for starting Ndidi are exactly the qualities Omeruo posseses. 2 Likes |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by AIG07: 8:44pm On Oct 12, 2016 |
Who is best to fill d LB n RB are our present concern. It won't be advisable to start Echiejile from d left. 1. He lacks d pace to cope against d algerians which might want to explore that side with longballs(e.g 2nd half vs. Zambia). 2. He is easily caught out of position. 3. Iwobi can't track back to defend well. If played from d left. So who do we play in his place? *Taiwo? Oh no! already 31(football age), overlaps too much, last played for eagles against Argentina@2010 worldcup. *Oshaniwa? Same with him. He has been out for a while. No time to integrate with d team. *Amuzie&Madu are too young and less experienced to cope with such attack. Poor timing n crosses as we can see @ Rio. FOR NOW Elderson Echiejile should start but with V.Moses playing from left- I think we'll have a good cover up. For d RB: Ndidi should not start. It's either shehu or Omuero should be deploy but not Onazi (He is too attack minded that he'll join d attack and therefore exposing d defence-no amount of instruction will keep him there) |

Daninya11: Just like he tested Musa Mohammed against Tanzania yet does nt trust his abilities. The Algeria game might be the confirmatory test of Ekong-Balogun partnership (2 Oyinbo) |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Nobody: 8:54pm On Oct 12, 2016 |
Mickael2: If Rohr extends an invitation to Taiwo, it's a welcome development. But...... I don't see it coming. For now, we can make shift with Omeruo as RB, Ekong and Balogun as CBD, where we have a problem is with the left back. Since the exit of Chidi Odiah at RB, we seem not to get a Capable replacement. We miss Taiwo at left back. Echiejele of 2013 is a shadow of himself now but I think he is more reliable than Amuzie and Oshaniwa. Do we turn our attention to players in the diaspora? Will Rohr experience against the lethal attacking force of the Algerians? No. This is what the defense will look like against the Algerians Echiejele Ekong Balogun Omeruo |

AIG07: Good points. U answered all the question as regarding the LB urself. If i had wanted to gun for Amuzie i would remember how Mohammed Salah turn him to his errand boy when we played Egypt in Kaduna. Echiejile is our best option for the next game. However i dnt buy the idea of starting Moses from the left instead of Iwobi. Let us not destabilize our attacking strenght bc we want to fortify our LB.Iwobi can start as LWF. He needs to be talked to to do more in supporting Echiejile and Echiejile should also minimise his forward runs and maintain position One of the centre backs should also be on alert to cover each time Echijile makes a forward move. You cannot completely stop forward mives by wing backs bc it is part of modern football. Victor Moses can start as the RWF. We need him more here cos we are likely fielding a make shift RB again. Moses can provide support here. |

A white guy throws a few pounds at you and you turn into an animal, drinking wildly and gbenshing anything with a hole in it? And then when they ask why you're so, you go "I can't help it, it's cuz I'm black"... That's like saying " I'm fat because it runs in my family"...not because you're too lazy to lose it. Daninya11: yes I can accept this backline, so long as Onazi isn't there. If Brahimi plays then we might have a problem, but if he doesn't we could have an advantage there, we could play a narrow left defence which means Onazi will be predominantly the LB while Echejile plays as a second LCB, it's complicated and since our players don't play in top teams it will be hard, so we just have to manage and pray |

TheSuperNerd: As we are talking of our Super Golden Generation, Brazil is also saying the same thing. Brazil feels this is a special set. They just won the Olympics football gold medal and some brilliant young talents were in the squad. They won all their last five matches. They have some promising young players in their national team and they have the league to promote their talents. Gabigol, I think is 19 years old turned down a deal of over $20,000,000 to join Juventus. He chose to remain at Santos. That alone tells you what the young talents of Brazil have. Watch this video. Although it is old and more talents have emerged, it will give you the idea of the quality of Brazilian youngsters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90jac0mZ_7E Brazilian Best Young Talents ● The Future of Football 2016 |
