It is only when a visa has been affixed to your passport that you can say you were successful. Even after the interview, if a detail you gave turns out to be untrue, the embassy may most likely not issue you with a visa. Was there any false hood in your application?

I recently joined this forum and followed the advice *to read the post from the beginning* which I did and I must confess it really so much and tough but it's worth it in the end because I must confess I found lot of help especially on the 214b and how you guys explained it kudos to Y'all and most response has reduced my questions. Y'all are invaluable

I'm 26,a marine navy (sea man) i worked with NIMASA for 1year where I got my sea term training and then they offered to send me to Romania for my COC class 3 which they applied for the visa august and got it september 2015 for me but I declined because I had always wanted to own company and my own vessel so i resigned and cos they told me after my COC class 3 I will work with them for 10years. So I registered myself in maritime academy and did my COC class 3 there. And i also succeeded in setting up my company which was incorporated on 17 August 2015 and it's doing very well..I have 1.9m in my bank acct. I have a son but not married. I want to start my journey to becoming a ship owner and that's one of the things this conference is going going to do for me.

I paid my visa fee in September. it was 53,600 as stipulated on the GTB website. now i submitted my DS-160 and was about to book an appointment when i realized that the fee is now 54,400.

what do i do? is my earlier payment still valid?

I planned travelling to UK back in 2011 (for schooling) but some family issues came up and plans changes but I later got admission to a Nigeria University. The Passport I have then expired this year which I renewed it. My uncle staying in Omaha, Nebraska sent me invitation to spend the coming second semester holiday with him and his family. My question is *is there a need to include my previous passport (when going for interview) as it has no travel history on it*?

Again I'd like to request (will be glad if you guys can work on it), if you guys can have an attachment (pdf) to this forum, to document the transcripts, some frequently asked questions and some likely interview questions, it will really be an indescribable feeling of assistance.

Dosent sound quite right.
He should compare the ds 160 he filled now with the confirmation of his appointment. If its not the same, then he should write the embassy.
I s'pose he paid, booked appointment iMmedately before filling his ds 160?

Your question , can u include your old passport. Ii think d ds 160 has a column asking if u have had any passport before (I'm not very sure now). But if it does, the answer is Yes, isn't it? It dosent say, do you have any old passport u travelled with?
So fill your form properly and carry along the little passport. If they need it, theyl ask for it. If they don't, you put it in your pocket.

Then if u can create the PDF and more FAQs, please do. Myself or JW can move it to the first page. Thank U!

I was denied a B1/B2 Visa last year January in Lagos. My wife have also been denied 4yrs ago. I was given a 214(b) letter, and then i was single. It was to be a pleasure visit so, i didn't go with an Invitation Letter. I got married mid this year and my elder brother who has a US citizenship status came for my wedding but couldn't come with his family. He wanted us (myself and my wife) to visit him and his family in the USA for Christmas this year so, his wife and kids could meet my wife during our annual leave and Christmas break(2weeks). We have an invitation letter from him. We have applied for a B1/B2 Visa and we are having our interview in Lagos next week. I changed job same January last year. Was working with a private firm with a good salary but the job was not pensionable and salary was always unstable. I got a job with a state government institution and my wife works in a federal government University. Plus i do some private jobs to increase my income streams. I am being owed months of salary by the institution due to the recession in the country. But i make money from my private business which i think is sufficient to take care of our trip.

Your record is on computer and alarm bells will ring with a change of story.

IF you have strong ties to home you could apply for a visit (holiday) visa
but if you mention relatives or invite then big wahalla.
