IyanuFanoro: why? Drogba was dropped by Cote D'Ivoire, even Kolo Toure so why can't he drop Mikel? If he drops Mikel and we win I will be happy, but if he drops Mikel and we lose I will blame myself BUT if he plays Mikel and we lose then I will blame, mark my words |

Mickael2: Yobo's performance dropped but Mikel is even getting better. He is more influencial than ever on the pitch. He leads by example, he has had the most shots on target in the last 2 matches. I mean did u see that last gasp, goal saving, award winning, OMG tackle that Mikel made against Zambia? 4 Likes 1 Share |

You think I didn't think of that? Loolll It's no guarantee for that to work in a 4-2-3-1, the no.10 in the 4-2-3-1 does much more than being the passer. Depending on the various kinds of AMF to execute that role behind the striker, "passer" won't be his sole portfolio. Such a "10" will also constantly move into the space quickly created by the no.9 or most-times roam from the left AMF (LMF) thru the central AMF and to the right AMF (RMF) position. The two midfielders behind the no.10 in a 4-2-3-1 are usually the "distributor/passer" and the "marker/blocker". Based on our team make-up, there's no way Mikel is the runner when his role in the CMF position is primarily to pass and organise play. If the no.10 is "just the passer" then you're saying Mikel should be the runner and Onazi the blocker/marker or Onazi the runner and Mikel the blocker/marker... In a 4-3-3, where you use two actual CMFs and a DMF, the passer-Runner-Blocker/marker gets fully applied not in a 4-2-3-1. Mickael2: 1 Like |

Mickael2:Thank God u are not eagles coach coz with your analysis the team w go nowhere, dropping Mikel for who or has Mikel failed d nation? So i don't understand u by saying Mikel should be dropped. A team won an away match against a big Africa team and u are here telling us somebody should be dropped for who for God sake. It's not compulsory for u to be happy if Mikel is on d field and thank God we won d match coz somebody like u w come here and be blaming Mikel. Mikel jointly with Iheanacho was rated 3rd performing player against Zambia,Ekong 4th,Iwobi 2nd and Ikeme 1st. 3 Likes |

tbaba1234: One of the most innovative ideas I have ever read in football. Bros, you are the bomb. I hope we keep that in mind and hope we have something like that in future. Although the MRI is expensive but the idea is amazing. We need to do more for our grassroot football and our league. 1 Like 1 Share |

You're right Sir GoodJoe...... We need to really keep the pool running deep. We can organise matches for them or hustle for invitations to youth tournaments that they can always compete in against top oppositions. So much can be done to fill in the year gap that 2017 will give our football at the cadet and youth levels before we start putting together the next set of U-17s and U-20s by early 2018. Precisely!!! Kelechi Nwakali is the crown-prince to Mikel's midfield leader role in the Super Eagles and I know Rohr knows this. We also have Ovie Ejaria who I'm sure will be ours after featuring for England's youth sides We won't lose all the quality English foreign-borns to England. That I assure you. Several will still be lost but the few we do get will be "added bliss" IyanuFanoro: 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: Teams preparing for the AYC, WYC and the U17 championships will gladly play us in friendlies. The NFF has a lot of task to make sure the time spent in finding those talents do not waste. |

EXCLUSIVE: MAN CITY SET TO EXTEND NWAKALI’S STAY AT THE ETIHAD FOLLOWING FINE FORM FOR LOAN SIDE According to reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com, Chidiebere Nwakali is set for a contract extension at English Premier League side Manchester City following his fine performances for his loan side. Since joining Manchester City in 2014 alongside Kelechi Iheanacho he has struggled to make a proper impact, with failed loan spells at Malaga and Girona in Spain, where he failed to make a single appearance for the team. However Nwakali is finally making his mark in Europe after a slow start to his career, as he is has been one of the top performers for his loan side Start. The 19 year old has made 22 appearances for Start, who are struggling to beat the drop to the second division in Norway, but he is still by far one of their best players in the team and the league at large with three goals to his name from his midfield role. Manchester City have seen enough to hand him an extension to avoid losing him on a free with his current deal having less than 18 months to run, He will however head out on another loan spell when his current loan deal with IK Start runs out. Looollll...... I get you okay. Just that Mikel is our midfield linchpin right now. His replacement?? Truth is there's none truly. What we have are "manageables". Mikel's true replacements are still young and maturing... The likes of Kelechi Nwakali and Ovie Ejaria, and a few others. But I get you, the only way to play without Mikel is to play a style and formation that hides his absence. Mickael2: 1 Like |

IyanuFanoro: You are right.! Those crucify Mikel compulsory inclusion in the super eagles are suffering from ignoranmounuuss Mikel is a general in that mid field. Whenever he's substituted in a game, the mid field collapses and there's no replacement for him now. The only player that can take his shoe would be Young K. Nwakali. But he need to be groomed up and expose, thank God Mikel will retire at the age of 35. BTW, Has Nwakali been loaned by Arsenal? |
