I thought to comment cos I have been in this same state.

Lo is super picky when it comes to food ( accepted only pap and BM till he clocked 1)but I kept trying in bits, he will even be turning his head side ways that he doesn't want ( can be super tiring/frustrating, arghhhhh)

I then left him and tried what I have been hearing here from the professors (Onegai and Alphahandmaiden).

I serve our food( DH and I) Lo comes and i noticed when I try to give him small sef, he turns his head and wants to take the cutlery.

I decided to give him cutlery and I had my way to feed him , he accepted and since then tried feeding himself. To say I was happy is an understatement.

Since then ehn, na to give him same type of cutlery we are using but in plastics( don't be using spoon and give him fork also, sometimes he doesn't gree for the plastics) and he eats wella.

He likes his food colorful and successfully feeds himself gradually( takes jollof spag, jollof rice, garnished indomie without the spice( with them vegetables), garnished rice sef) but plain spag, plain rice nah.

Beans is a plus too

For fruits, we are improving ( takes apple, pineapple and tangerine).

I want him to eat well then stop BM more so to perfect his gallant steps.

In all of these I think upbringing and making sure the child has sense is the way to go. I have a family fried that sends her kids(10 and 12yrs) to filmhouse cinema to do holiday jobs. They will learn to be responsible and have value for money,not some grand mother that will still be looking to receive or she commit.
I also don't believe in being too strict cos they will start hiding stuffs from you, but still don't be too free.Some girls in Uni are just testing freedom and so want to utilize it to the fullest,and unfortunately wolves are everywhere and can smell these girls from afar. Back in school then(unilag) ,my friends(guys) are always happy at the start of a new session cos of fresh fishes entering the system,and how gullible girls can be.

I always use style to push my child to our neighbor so that she can give her food
As I'm typing now I've not eaten anything since yesterday Apart from water. I was even afraid my breastmilk will go dry due to not eating well. But God has been wonderful in that part. It was my neighbor that gave me the garri that I've been eating. I don't have any means my mum that has been assisting us was robbed twice
so she too is managing
Pls nairalanders that stays around ibeju lekki if you have foodstuff to give me pls give my hands are shaking because of the breastfeeding without food

My dear, both water & pap at night. During the day, pap, tea, cereal, fruits and she eats a little of anything we eat.

Pls I beg pls n pls, I want to introduce cereals to my five months plus old kids, kindly suggest the best or refer me to the page where I can read up on it. They've been on formular and just trying to introduce pap to them but men they don't pretty enjoy it. I just want varieties for them.

I will appreciate a quick response so I can shop for them tommorow by God's grace.

My baby got circumcised when he was three weeks old and did not cry at all, during the circumcision and in the days after. The only time he cried was when he was getting strapped to that contraption or whatever to restrain his hands and legs (He hate not having his limbs free). So your baby might also not cry. But if he does, I guess all you can do is feed him and make him as comfortable as possible.

Moms here might have other suggestions as well

You are nursing the same fear as my husband's own before our son got circumcised. He said we should wait till he is five years!!, Haba oga why? He said he can't stand his cry. I remained strong and I convinced him it's better done now, we did it when he clocked 10days. No pain, no cries, no sleepless ngihts. There is this new method of circumcision used, he even put on his diaper immediately they finished with him.

Ask your Dr for the new method.

I jsut read about gerber, which is better? Some with banana, apple n all.

Oga the people who advised you already mentioned some names. Nan, lactogen, sma gold, Gerber, cow and gate, enfamil are some of the names I know. There are many different types just buy the one your pocket can carry. Keep in mind that you will probably need about four cans per month.

Also pick the number 0 or 1, it will be written 0-6 months on the can.

Gerber with banana,apple etc is for older babies o because you will see at the upper right corner of the container that it's for crawler.I believe at 5mths plus your babies have not started crawling .So it's the plain ones like rice,oat,multi grain that's for supported sitter that you can introduce them to.Another good one is Heinz (oat and apple,fruit custard porridge for 4mth+) this is the one my babies like they don't cry when I give them but the content in the packet is small o
Then at 6mths+ I tried Nutribom they also like the banana and apple one.I also complement the cereal with all these puree fruits in little cups especially the Heinz ones(it's 4 cups in a pack:varieties:oat and apple,pear,fruity banana custard,etc for 4mths+)they are not fans of the Cow &Gate ones except these one in a glass jar (banana and cookie crumble yum yum).I got all these from a lady at Alade market and she gave me good rates. (Heinz puree fruit cups 4in1 pack is 1k,Heinz cereal is 1400,Nutribom is 600,Cow and gate banana and cookie crumble 6in1 pack is 2500).If you need her contact, pm me.
