SUPER EAGLES TEAMMATE CONFESSES –
WATCHING IWOBI & IHEANACHO PLAY IS LIKE
ART IN MOTION

The near perfect combination of Kelechi
Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi in the colours of the
Super Eagles is winning them lot of admirers,
including their national teammates.

Iwobi and Iheanacho got both goals for Nigeria in their 2-1 away win over Zambia in the 2018
World Cup qualifiers, a game which they combined to devastating effect bar the goals they scored.

According to the top scorer in the Nigeria
Professional Football League Godwin Obaje,
who was in camp with the duo. Their relationship is even more off the pitch but their combination on the pitch is magical.

” They are always together. Like twins off the
pitch, and watching them play on the pitch is like art in motion. Their movement off the ball is
crazy. They know where to locate each other” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” I learnt a lot from them about how to thread
passes and movement off the ball. Am lucky to
have trained with stars of their kind”.

The Algerians are considerably worried about these two guys and rightly so.
Buildings little partnerships in different areas of the pitch is the best way to build a solid team.

I read Alex Iwobi's interview. The young man seems to be having a time of his life for both Club and country. He is not regretting one bit choosing Nigeria over England.

I hope Tammy Abraham, Chuba, Odubanjo and Ovie reconsider their position and choose Ngr. I rate these 4guys above Some of the wishy-washy players like Dominic Solanke and ola Aina.

Onazi played as a what?! Then what was Mikel doing?! This is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard, my God! So Kante is a box to box midfielder to you?! Why then do people compare him to Makelele? My Christ! I cant believe someone just said this

I think Rohr left Iwobi and Iheanacho on the field because they will play under tough conditions like what they met at Ndola in many games. They were exhausted but I think he wanted them to get used to working under the hot sun and bad pitch.

if we play our 4-2-3-1 den
iwobi will b subbed for musa(wen d coach sees he is getin tired)

It often takes time for a coach to trust a youngster with such responsibilities. Bellerin was not first choice at the beginning of his breakthrough season.

This is Ola's breakthrough season, give him time.

If the only positive thing Pinnick can do is get those player to switch to the National team and on numbers, I'll say he's done a good job in his tenure.

It's advisable one in a top position evaluate him/ herself and try to do one thing that would over cloud past and dirty mistakes when finishing!!

So wat will the coach do if Pep doesn't play Iheanacho this month? Not saying that will happen but this is why i don't like Rohr's comment, u want the players to fight but sometime things are out of their hands. We can't not select the best players just to play to the crowd.

I feel it's about time, that is what we have been missing becos that's where the game is at. Players like Auba and Mahrez could have played for France. Mostly the French speaking countries have been taking advantage of this, most players on the Algerian national team played a certain level of football in French youth setup. U get very skilled players over there but I think the English game with it's pace suits our style and just like Iwobi I don't think it will be hard to get these players to adapt. The problem will be if we start promising them playing time cuz they have to bust their butts and earn it.

Well since we know that they have some technical advantage from the clubs they play for, we just need to bother about commitment and passion to fly.

If we get them to say yes, they just make a friendly to try them out, I think if they shine, it will boost their playing time for their clubs(which is mostly the case). That way, the hbp of fans will drop knowing that some super sub "sani emmanuel" will come on and even increase game tempo(which is not usually the case with us. We need to change this pattern. most of our 2nd halves we play tired and more technical teams may use this on a bigger stage)

Well we can pull this stuff, but just one name will always not recognise the fact that they need to up their game:.... NFF

Yes. That was the idea but we were two goals up against Zambia and that was a good time to get the players used to playing under the harsh conditions in Zambia.

When once we conceded, the coach made the switch.

Yes, for Chelsea and that's because of the presence of Matic, but naturally he is a DMF. Same situation with Sanchez presently at Arsenal

IHEANACHO BEATS CLOSE PAL IWOBI TO CNN GOAL OF THE WEEK AWARD, WINS IT FOR
THE SECOND TIME

Kelechi Iheanacho has once again won the CNN
goal of the week, thanks to his goal for Nigeria
against Zambia in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers
which Nigeria won 2-1 in Ndola.

This is the second time Iheanacho is picking up
the award, after his strike for Nigeria against
Tanzania in September earned him the award for the first time.

The 20 year old Manchester City forward got 75% of the votes from an online CNN poll, beating his closest challenger, the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal and Real Madrid who finished second with 20% of the votes.

His close pal Alex Iwobi who plays for Arsenal and also found the back of the net in same game Iheanacho scored the goal that gave him the award, didn’t get enough votes to earn a
mention.

However, another Nigerian Effiong Alfred who
plays for Malta got a mention with 4% of the votes to finish in third position, bringing to two the number of Nigerians in the top three in the poll.

ROHR TALKS ON THE TWO PLAYERS HE
HOPES TO PLAY IN CENTRAL DEFENCE
AGAINST ALGERIA

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has dropped a big hint on the potential central defence pairing when Nigeria take on Algeria, in their second World Cup 2018 qualifiers tie.

Group B leaders Nigeria will play Algeria in Uyo in the second round of qualifiers, and Rohr who has used William Troost Ekong and Leon Balogun and Kenneth Omeruo alongside Ekong, has already started making plans for the game.

” For now, it’s all about who proves himself in
training before the game. Ekong, Balogun and
Omeruo know as well that their performance for
their clubs counts as well” He told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” We have to pick defenders base on what Algeria have in their attack. We still studying their games. For now am confident because we have the players.

” The quality we have means whoever is picked to play will give a good representation of himself in a game which will tell us how far, we’ve come in terms of our works on the defence of the team”.

DREAM TEAM VI STAR WANTS NIGERIA TO
BEAT ITALY TO CESENA TEEN FORWARD
AKAMMADU FRANKLYN

Bologna forward Sadiq Umar says Nigeria should establish contact with Cesena 18 year old forward Franklyn Akammadu, who is reportedly set to be called up to the Italian youth national team.

In the past Nigeria have lost the duo of Angelo
Ogbonna and Chuka Okaka to Italy. 20 year old
Umar is advocating that the football house in
Nigeria establish contact with Akammadu to avoid losing him to Italy.

Umar who was one of the stars of Nigeria’s
campaign at the Rio 2016 Olympics reckons, he
has seen enough to convince him that
Akammadu will come good in the nearest future.

” He is quick, skillful, strong and very good with
both feet. He is highly rated here in Italy,
presently he is the top scorer in the Primavera
(Youth League)”. He told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Too early to say he is ready for the main team
but it will be good, if contact is made for future
purposes. We can’t afford to lose him” He concluded.

The work Kante does in the middle of the pitch isn't quite as eye-catching, but when he does open up the throttle it's thrilling to watch. Here, again against Swansea, he picks the ball up in his own half and sees space to run into.

He has the pace and power to run through the middle of three players, the ball never out of control, and suddenly his team have overloaded Swansea on the counter-attack.

He reaches the Swansea box and offloads to Vardy, who turns and sets up Mahrez for his hat-trick.

Ranieri said shortly after joining Leciester that he realised he had inherited a group of quality players. "This player Kante, he was running so hard that I thought he must have a pack full of batteries hidden in his shorts," he said.

"He never stopped running in training. I tell him, 'One day, I’m going to see you cross the ball, and then finish the cross with a header yourself". He’s unbelievable."

This surge of energy to set up Leicester's third goal against Swansea came in the 68th minute of the game.

Kante also spends quite a lot of time out on the wing, helping to protect full-backs or after he noticing there's space out wide to be exploited.

Against Manchester City Kante drifted out into the wide area to help assist Mahrez's goal:

it seems like you know football more than the coaches themselves. whoscored.com records that Kante had played as a DMF 7 times this season and only three times as a Cmf otherwise called the b2b and one of those games was against Arsenal where he was absolutely shocking. please next time, watch the full match not just the highlight, the mere fact that he made forward runs shows that he is not a log of wood, nothing else
