Bro, it is Low.
Canadian universities mostly requires a second class upper for admission. Or occasionally a very high CGPA in your last two years of full time study or last 60 units of study..
My cousin had a second class lower 3.31 but his last two years of full time study was 4.62 on a 5.0 scale, he got an admission in University of Alberta (which is among the most Competitive Universities in the world and Canada in terms of getting an admission).

I would have advised you to do a Pgd, but from what I am reading on this thread recently, it seems like getting a TRV for a Pgd is becoming more strict.

But that doesn't still matter, you can definitely get a TRV(study permit) for your Pgd, many have still gotten, ur case could be successful.
Canadian Embassy hasn't issued a statement or policy banning TRV for Pgd programs undecided

Or you could try Germany, Ireland, Australia....
What course did you study in ur Baccalaureate degree nd what course are u hoping to do for Masters

Thanks bro. I appreciate. Studied Metallurgical Engineering.

Hi everyone
I'm new here and will like to find out somethings. I applied for my study visa and was called for medicals. My family applied for their accompanying visas around the time I applied for mine. The issue is last week, they were given their visas( till the expiry dates on their passports) but I'm yet to get mine. I should point out that in the letter of explanation, it was stated that they were accompanying me to help me settle down. I'm really worried as I I have not gotten mine. Is there a chance that my application would have been looked at before they were given? Thereby guaranteeing that I will get. I've had to defer my admission to January because I could not meet up with the fall term. What do I do

You are to use interbank rate not parallel rate.

Official bank rate you are to use.

If u want to do a Masters program in University of Manitoba, then u must start your application immediately, as the deadline for admission should be around 30th November.
Your CGPA is Quite Okay.
Check whether the have this Course which u want to do.

You can also check out *University of Western Ontario Institute of Technology*
Or http://www.uoit.ca/ - University of Ontario Institute of Technology

thanks a lot big brother. UoIT doesn't have the course I want so I will switch to Manitoba [UoM]. my original certificate will be available next February while my transcript will be ready in November this year. can I go ahead and apply?

The truth is it depends on your bank o, but id advise you check out abokifx.com, they are usually on the right path.

NB: pls I'm not a marketer for the website, but it has helped me a whole lot, also try and gauge using the most expensive quote for any currency u r searching for.

[thanks so much bro...

You can apply online or use paper route. With online application, all you have to do is upload all ur documents via cic portal and pay with your card wc is expensive compare to paper application. Paper application is cheaper, all u have to do is gather your documents and submit at vfs office in Lekki and pay cash there
Trv is temporary resident visa wc allow u to enter Canada. At d point of entry you will be issued ur study permit.

You need to read d thread and make google your friend for better information. All d best[/quote]

@tysaxlomo, you forced me outta my workload. Try terrorism and it's attendants ( terrorist financing etc) using comparative methodology and not focus on boko haram solely. Trust me, that's one area that you should explore.
Congrats.

Please guys there are loads of other schools in Canada, not only Uni of Manitoba and uni of Saskatchewan

Let's try and avoid sending too much applications to the above mentioned schools(or few selected schools here on NL). The more the applications sent to these few schools the lower your chances of getting admission and the longer the wait period.

Some other schools dey look for more applications them no see. Kindly Google other relatively cheap schools and apply to them

E.g Uni of Lethbridge, Saint Mary's University, University of prince Edward island, Unb, University of Victoria, Dalhousie Univeristy, University of Winnipeg, Brandon university e.t.c.

You can as well google other schools, check for your intended course, read the admission requirements and mail the graduate secretary with an attached copy of your transcripts for further info.

I always tell folks to mail both the graduate coordinator and graduate secretary of your intended programme for first hand info cos there might be changes on admission requirements not yet reflected on the schools website that might just give you an edge on your application. This worked for me.

Cheers!!

Yeah. U can.
You will be required only to send (through courier services) the original transcript and certificate/statement of result when you have been given provisional admission that should be around next year March or so.

You can use Student's copy of your transcript, and a statement of Result for your UofM application.
UofM application is a bit strenuous, so that on time.
You have barely 6weeks to deadline.

Though you have a point.
I beg to disagree with you,
University of Manitoba and University of Saskatchewan have high applications because the have CHEAPER TUITION AND COST OF LIVING, and also the Accept a Second class Lower provided the last two years of full time study is high.

Dalhousie University in Novia Scotia is freaking Expensive
Lethbridge is also more expensive than Saskatchewan
University of Victoria requires a Second class upper, no exceptions.

Oga Economy hard, Canadain dollar is 230.51 to Naira.

Let them give a good application, the will be considered for admission. No be JAMB or ASUU matter.
This are organized institutions.

Almost apply for Brandon but was told no funding available. I was told early application with good CGPA would improve admission chances. If you have money and Brandon have your intended course, try there.

I did try something like that international security laws and its loopholes, which allows for them to operate in the international community, this included financiers both state and individual, when I sent my proposal, I was replied with the research proposal is dull, detailed, but not so helpful in the academia since its nothing new, and the suggestion was brought to focusing on Boko Haram and the Nigerian approach to it, although I still in my proposal linked it to the international community, so I guess in the and its all love. Lol

Thanks though, you in faculty of law in U of M? My application has been under review for 3 weeks at the department.

U dont need to secure any supervisor, they are the ones to give you supervisor is you are offered admission. again those skls you mentioned above requires contact of a supervisor, i have sent a litany of mails to faculty members requesting them to supervise me, even i told them not to pay me any stipend or scholarship, only few replied saying they do not need graduate students ,most did not reply. canadians are disrespectful towards we Nigerians, they will waste your time and still not offer you anything, spent more than 8 packaging this application and begging and pallying proffessors in my school to endorse my referee mail. for the fall which you suggested i will be mad to apply anything canada again am going for uk or germany i already have admissions already handy in those country. canada dream bye bye

Can't you ask people question here rather than repeatedly asking for contact details?

I was at VFS yesterday to pick up my refusal package. Men!! I could even count the people I saw applying for visa. in fact I went to meet the man who stands at the entrance to attend to applicant asking him the reasons for the high refusal. He was like the fault is from the Embassy not VFS and he can't really tell what is going on. it is well o

Registry wedding certificate is good to go as dey dnt even send Church wedding certificate.

Do u have kids If not get the equivalent of 10,000 CAD in ur account..

Did u say your husband is working now?? meaning his on PGWP If he is on that you can also consider the option of a visiting visa than a work permit.. If he is working.. He doesnt need your Spousal Work Support.. but if he is still a student.. it will fly smoothly.. I am no guru oo.. others can shed more light.. But i know of a lady here.. who was rejected based on the fact her hubby is on PGWP..

But then again.. all applications are treated uniquely and differently.

so make necessary enquires before applying..

GoodLuck!!!

They don't normally conduct interview for study visa applicants except if the visa officer sees a great neccesity for the interview. But you can explain your accommodation plan inside your LOE.
