I did enjoy the analyzes and individual opinions on 3 - 4 - 3, but in reality the Formation won't work for the Super Eagles.

We ain't in Europe, rather in Africa. You can't expect our Players to train just for few Days to the Match and do miracle with the proposed Formation.

Some Fans are trying hard to include Moses in the Golden Generation, but is he really want to be part of, same as Success?!

I checked on the Lineup of Mainz 05 and couldn't see Balogun on the list! Alas! Moses enjoyed 90mins of football, Success played for 89mins - and these are Players just returning from Injury!

Nigeria is blessed with a huge Pool of talented Players at the moment..... so happy I am that we have a German in charge! We would be disappointed if we keep on suggesting or forcing Moses and Success on Rohr!

He knows the calibre of Players he needs to execute his plans, tactics and formation. He's up to the Task, hence we should calmly believe in him!

I repeat 3-4-3 is not gonna work with the Super Eagles. It's simply a Doom, a potential Setback, and we are going to be disgraced by the Algeria Team if we try it.

Balogun just started training after injury so he is most likely not fully fit for the bench. That makes the recovery of Victor moses and Success more remarkable.

Anyway, i agree with you... time is too short to experiment a new formation for Algeria but it is something that could be tried in friendlies before we face Cameroon in Uyo.

If silva was Nigerian, he will play in the wings like he does with the Spanish national team and Valentia and Iheanacho will play behind the main striker.

I totally disagree. Why play Silva in the wings when we have the two Moses? That is if we opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation. Silva must sit behind the striker and create chances for the striker and Wingers.

In a 4-3-3, Silva will sit behind the three forwards. You can hardly find Silva on the wings now City has Sane, Sterling and Nolito. Hope we land Leon Bailey.

Club sides have enough practise days/weeks to master that kind of formation.

Difficult to play it when it comes to the national teams.
This was Watford's first time using it and it went well. They didn't really play well but we can see that they had a clean sheet even though they didn't have much of the ball. We have a core who will know this system and don't forget that for about 45 minutes this system made Mahrez and Slimani look average.

An injured victor moses scores

this guy is now selecting games he wish to play

if i am the coach both he and isaac success will not be invited for the algeria game
Victor Moses and Isaac Success obviously dodged the game in Zambia. They colluded with their clubs to do this.
There is no explanation for someone to play 90mins just 7days after claiming injured.

I have noticed most Nigerian players dodge playing away games against African oppositions. Celestine Babayaro started this trend of boycotting away games for the eagles.
Players dodging away games was the exact reason we failed to qualify for the 2006 world cup. It was so bad that we went for the famous game away against Angola with 14 players including 2 goal keepers.
If we are to be honest, okocha was the reason we lost the world cup ticket to a garbage Angola side.

Victor Moses and Isaac Success should be left alone. We need players who will walk through a wall for us.

Exactly my thought..
Can we say Conte has just given us the formular to end our full back problem?..

With a fully fit balogun, ekong and omeruo as CB,
V.Moses would just stick to the same role he played at chelsea, while echejile can take up marcos alonso role..
Onazi as kante, mikel as matic, iheanacho as willian, ideye/success as costa while iwobi can take up hazard role...

I only wish tho...

Me too O!

National teams typically don't play that kind of formation.

I agree with you. Three at the back packs up a lot and it takes a lot of discipline from all players to make it work.

Van Gaal tried it in England and Flopped. Mancini tried it with City and players like Micah Richards said the defenders did not know their role.

Mazzari is a big admirer of the system but he is very cautious using it at Watford. It takes lots of practice to get the team to play it.

It still works. With Mikel and Iwobi playing the Xavi and Iniesta role. With Onazi behind them like Busquets. Although Onazi is not a great passer. We still have Ndidi and Chidi Nwakali to fill the defensive midfield role with time.
if u play Onazi,Mikel,Aluko and Iwobi at the same time in midfield,u will have only 2 players left to complete a team in 4-4-2 ,4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. N we have players like Etebo, Success,Ighalo,Moses,Simon,Ideye and Musa. Which player would u sacrifice to accommodate Aluko. I don't think we need him now unless there is a serious injury to 3 of our midfielders.
We should b thinking of how to integrate Etebo to this current set up without destabilizing the whole system, because Etebo is not a passing Midfielder, that's my only problem with him,he loves to run with the ball n shoot,he hardly interchanges pass with his partners, unless there is completely no space to shoot. perhaps he should watch more of KDB game to master his art.

AF Nigeria 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers - Africa Algeria
How Nollywood star saved Super Eagles World Cup dream

Nigeria match winners in Zambia - Kelechi Iheanacho (left) and Alex Iwobi

by Samm Audu

Friday Oct 14, 2016.

AfricanFootball.com can exclusively reveal that it needed Nollywood actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot to walk NFF president Amaju Pinnick through the corridors of power for the government to eventually release 100 million Naira for the Super Eagles to fly to Zambia for a 2018 World Cup qualifier.

It is now recent history that the Super Eagles will go on to beat hosts Zambia 2-1 to go top of their qualifying group to Russia 2018.

A desperate Pinnick had made a last-ditch effort to get the senate to come to the Eagles rescue only days to the World Cup qualifier only to be met by a brick wall when he was told by the senate President to come up with accounts of the NFF’s sponsorship earnings since last year.

A top source has now told AfricanFootball.com that it was therefore Nollywood star and producer Desmond Elliot, who used his political connections to arrange for a meeting with the country’s Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, who now directed a memo to be put up.

“Elliot is now a politician and also a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and it was he who brokered a meeting for Pinnick with the Vice-President,” a top government source informed only AfricanFootball.com

“It was at this meeting that the Vice-President directed that an emergency memo be put up and routed through the sports minister.

“And that was how the government finally released 100 million Naira to the NFF for the World Cup qualifier.”

And Pinnick went grooving with some of the wads.

Thanks to Desmond Elliot for his patriotic action to save the country from embarrassment.

I hope the Nigerian football administrators still plan to reward Amunike, his coaching crew and his boys for winning the U17 World Cup.

These guys won a World Cup and they deserve rewards for achieving a good thing.

In a nutshell, am saying Solanke is too one dimensional.
In the modern game, strikers are meant to have the technical capacity to help in the build up play or attack from the wings and cut inside.

Chuks Aneke seems to have fallen off a cliff so something. Haven't heard about him for almost 2years. I had high expectations of Chucks.

@bolded is all what Solanke does best. grin

Dominic Ayodele "Dom" Solanke-Mitchell (born 14 September 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays for Chelsea. Although Solanke prefers playing as a striker, he can also play as a winger on either side and as an attacking midfielder. He has represented England up to under-21 level.

As you can see from Wikipedia and from the games I saw him played.

Chuks Aneke played in Belgium for two seasons. He played regularly in his first season and beginning of the second second before something happened to him.

He has gone back to England 1st division.

I don't think Aluko, and Joel Obi as well belongs in the emerging golding era we r anticipating,or who r u going to drop in order to accommodate him in the midfield? Is it Mikel,Iwobi or Iheanacho,he is good player in his own right but the ones we r using presently is far better than Aluko.

And we still have other young midfielders coming up,players like Mathew and Yahaya. I even prefer forgiveness' Ajagun to Aluko, but it does not mean that he will near this current set up as it stands.

We r gradually building a team we can easily name 9 or 10 players out of our first 11,it makes the job easier for our coaches as they will know the players they will concentrate n work on.

How do you know without given Ajagun the chance to prove himself?

When Aluko was in the form of his life I don't think you can compare him with some of those players.

He can dribble than most of them, he can score with free kicks, he can tear a defense with split passes, he can score.... the boy is good but he is playing in a lower division. That is all

I haven't forgotten a thing Bro.... My own is simple.... Victor moses can't play left-full back!!! Coz that was his suggestion since Moses can play on the left.

He also mentioned conte's use of moses as the solution to our left back problem since moses can play defensively also as seen for chelsea. BUT HE DIDN'T REALISE CONTE IS USING MOSES AS A RIGHT WING BACK NOT LEFT WING BACK.

Even at Wigan... Na right him dey sef predominantly. I lie?

Yes, you are right. He can't play as left back but he plays as left winger. I pointed out that to correct you for saying he doesn't play there.

At Wigan, he plays on both sides.

ALAMPASU PLEASED HE IS NOW PLAYING
REGULARLY IN PORTUGAL

Nigeria goalkeeper Dele Alampasu has said he is
delighted he is now playing regularly in Portugal
after he moved on loan from Feirense.

Alampasu left newly promoted Portuguese
Primera Liga club CD Feirense for FC Cesarense in the lower division.

The former Nigeria U17 goalkeeper has now
played all the games for Cesarense since joining
them, and he says he hopes to return to his
parent club a better player.

“I am playing regularly here now,” he said.

“My target is to return to my parent club a much improved and better player and that way I stand a better chance of earning the number 1 shirt there.”

The 19-year-old Alampasu surprised not a few
people when he left Feirense on loan in the
summer, as they had been promoted to compete in the Portuguese top-flight, returning to the lower division with Cesarense.

“I didn’t have enough playing time at Feirense
which is not good for my development,” he said.
“I am still a player of Feirense, as I’m only out on
loan, but I left because I needed to be playing
games as I couldn’t get better with only training.”
